I've just Pre-Ordered Battlefield 3...It's a good day.

Question: How does the download purchase work?
Can you download the game at anytime but only play it only until it unlocks on the release date or do you download it at the release date?

pc? well i will be getting it on ps3 even though im pissed how its inferior to the pc version i mean 12x12 compared to 32x32, smaller maps, slightly worse graphics(still really good though), 720 hd, and 30 fps idk

Well my understanding is this:

You pre ordered the game, If you pre-ordered the limited edition the ad says you get beta access. I assume it will work like Steam works. some games you can download early, others you have to wait until it posts on the release date.

I'm not happy however that the server browser is a regular web browser service instead of in-game, and you must be logged into the origin service at all times to play the game.

Its not horrible though. the service runs smooth and the web server browser is faster than any in-game server browser I've ever played. My experience with the alpha was that if you close the game and load up the server browser, it still only takes the normal amount of time to get back in game. it loads just as fast as a server connection is established. I still would prefer an in-game browser though, regardless of the fact I have 2 monitors. Most people don't.

Im debating whether to get dead island, gears of war 3, or batman arkham city

im a HUGE zombie fan, i love the gears series (i wanna see if the carmine curse will end lol), and im a HUGE batman fan!!

Dead island seems to be the most UNoriginal game coming out this year.

I want to see another cake and pie war.

I'm also suspicious of Temp as that sig has been in the making for a while now.

lets see if ur like a multiplayer guy and put a lot of hours into online then get gears 3, idk about dead island but if it has online and u got friends and shit and are gonna play it get it too

you could actually get both considering u are gonna play them alot and online will extend the life a lot

arkham city looks to be an amazing game but i would say rent it because after you beat it and then play arond a little well its basically done its mostly a singleplayer game so i would say rent it and save money

dead island or gears is up to you are you more of a shooter guy or zombie guy
but i wouldnt recommend buying arkham city because i think about a week is plenty time to beat it and have fun with it so a rent would be fine
