So who here is dumb enough to waste $60 on Battlefield 3?
I may become dumb enough to buy something that bad because I have $60 lying around and nothing to spend it on. My friends to be the kind of idiots who would buy it so maybe I will too just to kill some time with them.
EDIT: Ironically enough I must have posted a second or two after FlamingTP. Well.... This is awkward now.

Company dime, he didn't pay a cent.
In other news, care to explain why exactly Battlefield is a bad choice? or are you just talking out of your butt?

he did build it himself, and thats how much the parts ended up costing. If I could build a PC on someone elses dime I would drop 5 grand into that bastard easy.

I'm not sure why you think money spent on pure enjoyment is a loss.
If anything, that is the smartest way to spend $3000 on.
A component which keeps me entertained with the media/games showed in extremely high fidelity, one which boosts the speed of CPU hungry programs (AE, Vegas, 3ds Max), and most importantly, one which I payed nothing for as clarified by TP.
I don't see any loss here.

I feel I should warn all those present that there is a user named Superben9050 who just made a thread.

you dont need 3000 to build a computer to play it at max though
you could do it for much less
because really that seems like a ripoff
3000 to play a dam game
for 3000 you could get a pretty decent car, add a bit more you could get a solid deal
you could pay rent for 3 months with that money
im not saying how people should spend their money but really 3000 for a computer is damn
especially when a ps3 cost $250 and give you the same gameplay with kinda close graphics buts still

Why would I care for the price if I'm not paying for it...

Not sure about the 800 mark to build a top end PC. even then it wouldn't be future proof like a PC for 3k custom made.
For example for that price you will still need a top video card to hit 60 FPS aty 1080p with everything max, that alone is 500+ dollars.
You'd probably be stuck with a substandard motherboard and have throughput issues for that number.
My computer costs about 1100 and I can conservatively say I will get between 25 and 60 FPS at 1080p with 16x AS Filtering and 4x AA max. assuming the Dice people are correct about the beta being low-medium quality. (where I hit about 100-120 FPS at 1080p with a 1GB 5870)
max is unnecessary though because at 1080p there is no need for AA above 4x, you wont even see a difference. HBAO shows a difference but only marginally and cuts FPS about 50% for little improvement.

well then if thats the case
LOAD THAT BITCH UP
get some solid state drives up in that mother fucker
nyways i really have no clue if i should get battlefield
i will wait to see some more reviews and user reviews from console players to see if its worth it

Yeah, I'll wait until the SSD get bigger storage.
They're simply too small.
As for Battlefield on Consoles, I've told all my non-PC gaming friends to not even bother. I played the Beta for a couple weeks and when I tried out the Console version, the difference was absolutely DRASTIC.
The Campaign isn't really the main selling point, so you'd expect the Multiplayer to be pristine on all platforms. Not the case.
It's simply not really a Console game in my opinion.

well u only need a solid state drive for the OS and basic programs u often use, and it loads up hella fast
but about battlefield on consoles really have been dissapointed
I remember when it was first announced and we hadnt seen much i was so exited about it but lately im been more and more dissapointed because of how dumbed down consoles are getting it like only 12x12 on those maps
im glad i didnt pre order
And the thing is they are trying to take out and dethrone COD but releasing an extremely watered down port for consoles isnt gonna do it COD is still gonna rule and i mean EA/try really really really hard to take out COD like asking reviewers retarded questions about their experiences with cod and bf before giving them the game to review and just lots of other shit.
And i DO NOT want to go back to COD fuck no i hate activision and its not the real infinity ward. Im tired of COD

Hey yo Gabba Gabba! Jacksonville breaks the losing streak on Monday Night!
I can't give you specific brand names or specs, because my room mate built his PC and I haven't cared enough to question him about it. He has a tower that can hold 4 or 5 hard drives, a terabyte and a half worth hard drive space, 10 gigs of ram, backlit keyboard, pro gaming mouse, and a ridiculous cooling fan. He can run Starcraft 2 and some other FPS I can't remember simultaneously without a stutter. All just over 800 dollars. Microcenter and newegg. I'll give you more specific stats next time I talk to him. Maybe not exactly top of the line, but certainly high end. Just as good (if not better than) a $1000+ Alienware cash hog. He uses an HDTV as his monitor, for size reference. The thing is massive.

Received an e-mail last night containing a very rough cut of the Sirius Black (Harry Potter) fan film I did in April... It's incomplete, still missing some scenes, music, and a few effects, but my God, it will be one of the best films I've ever performed in so far. Adam Villasenor is a bad-ass editor.
I won't show the clip, since it's incomplete, but I'll edit some of my parts into a new demo reel and show that off once it's complete.
