IMO, Umbreon > Espeon > Flareon > Vaporeon > Jolteon
Just switch in a ground type to absorb thunderbolt from Jolteon, and due to its lack of other special moves (double kick isn't going to do anything to a ground/rock type). Vaporeon is cool (Toxic, Wish, Protect... ugh), but there are much better water types in the game. Flareon is cool - its attack is up there with Scizor and Machamp - but its slow speed and earthquake being everywhere = bad. Espeon is great, and Umbreon is just so evil its fun to use (Toxic, Mean Look, Rest, Confuse Ray - that thing is evil).
Anywayz, I wonder how Glacia and Leafia (Ice and Grass eevee-lution coming in Diamond/Pearl) will be... Glacia is Ice type, so it's automatically cool IMO.
Yes, I like pokemon... =/

Nice sig, Oriana. I looked back over the Pokemon talk and thought I'd clear some stuff up. I still play the game alot online and play competitively. The following might be of interest.
I suppose you are all going by favourites with these lists. Removing the anime perspective and going to the games perspective and assuming they would go one on one, Espeon is probably most likely to win thanks to Calm Mind. However, Vaporeon would be able to screw it somewhat with Haze and perhaps Toxic so it's tricky.
Umbreon would also survive quite a bit and be difficult to kill due to its defenses. Flareon might be able to give it problems and Toxic from any of the others could own it. (If the Eeveelution has Rest, that would render Toxic useless.)
Given that none of this is the case anyway, you have to go by their usefulness and stats and how they are used in battle. Therefore, the list goes as follows:
Jolteon > Vaporeon > Umbreon > Espeon > Flareon
Of them all, Jolteon is the one most used and it's the most useful. Flareon is the worst and never used in standard play. Vaporeon is nowhere near seen as mch as Jolteon but is still used as is Umbreon. It's rare that you will see Espeon, but it is used sometimes.
There is no best type. Normal types only have one weakness as do Electric types and as that's less than Psychics, shouldn't that make them the best? No. Houndoom and Tyranitar can take down Psychics. Psychics can win versus them if used correctly. Heracross can take down Psychics and vice versa. Many other Pokemon can own Psychics. Blissey is probably the best one for it and any hard hitting physical attackers can also do it - Snorlax, Dugtrio, Salamence, Metagross, Gyarados.
Correct. However, never use Blizzard as it sucks. Calm Mind is your best way of surviving Dark Pokemon onslaughts, but you had best hope they don't hit hard physically. (This only applies to the majority of Psychics.) If you're using a Psychic type, it's best you bring along a Fighting type. The best ones would be Heracross and Blaziken. They can deal with the enemy Dark type. However, fighters don't necessarily have to be the counter.
That ability is actually a move and therefore is more of a filler or set up move, meaning it wastes a move slot for Xatu. Also, Xatu is fairly weak and one of the worst and never seen Pokemon in competitive play. It has no business trying to take down a Dark type. You'll find it has far better things to be doing. However, given that Miracle Eye is one of the new Diamond and Pearl moves, it could prove useful. From what I know, this new era is more attack based. Xatu probably wouldn't be able to set up Miracle Eye without getting owned. If it were an auto ability, then it'd rock.
Blaziken being a Fire and Fighting type, can deal with the Bugs and Dark types Psychics are weak too. Hidden Power Fire, Flamethrower and Fire blast on other Pokemon are also useful options.
As for Ghosts, the best Ghost move isn't the one you mention, which is Curse. It's actually Shadow Ball, a proper damaging attack. Dusclops is a fairly weak attacking Ghost, but it can OHKO Alakazam with Shadow Ball. Gengar and hard physical hitters like Snorlax can own many Psychics with Shadow Ball. Ghosts are more than capable of dealing with Psychics, but Gengar is screwed in the fact that it is also a Poison type, which is weak to Psychic.
Lol! if you went ito a real battle with that attitude, you'd get owned so badly. Given the movesets of many Pokemon, you do not specifically need to use a Dark type to beat a Psychic, or a Water type to beat a Ground type and so on. Given what I've said already about hard hitters with an attack the Psychic or whatever other type is weak to, you have to beware. you may send your Dugtrio to kill my Jolteon, but if I have Hidden Power Ice, Grass or Water on Jolteon, I win.
And Heracross owns. Back in the Gold, Silver, Crystal days, it could take down Mewtwo single handedly, even thoguh its still weak to Psychic itself. Even today, Heracross is feared and one of the most used and versatile Pokemon out there.
As mentioned just above, if Jolteon has one of the 3 special Hidden Powers, your Ground type fails.
That Vaopreon set is one of the most annoying sets, however Toxic isn't really used anymore due to predicatability, immunities, Natural Cure and Rest. Wish and Protect are stall moves to keep it alive. It'd more commonly have Surf and Ice Beam to go along with them.
Flareon is cool - its attack is up there with Scizor and Machamp - but its slow speed and earthquake being everywhere = bad. Espeon is great, and Umbreon is just so evil its fun to use (Toxic, Mean Look, Rest, Confuse Ray - that thing is evil).
I mentioned earlier that Flareon sucks. Yes, it's attack is high, but that does not make it useful. Absol is a Dark type with very high attack, but it too also sucks. Machamp and Scizor however are decent. You have to consider movesets and their overall stats. Also, Flareon would get owned by Dugtrio. Switch in. Flareon is trapped. Hit it with Earthquake. Dugtrio wins.
That Umbreon set would only work in game (GBA games). It has far better moves to use. Try Mean Look, Curse, Baton Pass, Moonlight. You could even add Taunt in there. I can explain how this would work if you want.
Having had a look at Leafia and Glacia's moves and stats, they're not looking promising. Glacia by itself is horrible due to being a pure Ice Type. Pure Ice types only resist other Ice attacks and are therefore useless. The full extent of their use will become more apparent when Diamond and Pearl are more worldwide spread.
And that's the end of that. Hope it helps. Just keep in mind, I've based it all off competitive play and what I know from this background. Your opinions are your own and you just need to remember that in game AI is vastly different from real play with someone else who knows what they are doing.

I dunno... something about Jolteon and its ugly butt being seen everywhere just makes me not like it that much, hence why I like Flareon.
I know with Hidden Power it can be useful for Jolteon, especially Ice (take out ground and grass types), but if doesn't kill something in one go, it is probably going to die from a physical attack next turn (I mean a Pokemon why is meant for physical attacking, not a shadow balling Alakazam or something >_>)
But it does do its job as a sweeper really well I guess. I just dont like it =/

I like using Flareon, but then again, thats because I like using NU Pokemon and along with Qwilfish, Flareon is about as good as NU gets.
But yeah, there are reasons it is NU
I get what you mean with Umbreon - Taunt to stop hazing, roar, toxic and things like.

Ugh... not good. Lapras and legendaries are about all ice types have, but their type match ups are pretty bad =/. At least Ice Beam is one of the better moves in the game.
