Agree 100% with both replies. LSD is amazing and yes, you can whoever you want so long as your confident enough to go after them. I know what you mean though NM, gay guys here in Dublin don't generally tend to date a lot, hookups are a lot more common so you play with the hand your dealt with really.

Am I overreacting, or should I quit my job?

The problem is that for the last several months my boss has begun to show favoritism towards my coworker. This has resulted in me being left out of the loop for everything our department does. Whenever we have to create reports, I am the person responsible for this task, yet my boss gives my coworker all of the credit for them when presenting the data to other departments. It's gotten to the point where people from outside the company or even from other departments have stopped calling or emailing me altogether because my boss has told them to contact my co-worker instead. My time at work is spent making hundreds of reports, and fixing our online database whenever it goes down or needs updating, yet my boss once again tells others within the company that my co-worker is responsible and to ask him for any assistance they may require when using our systems. My boss has stopped letting me give trainings and instead sends my coworker. When someone calls and I answer the phone, they ask to speak to either my coworker or my boss. I single handedly created a series of programs that automated delivery of spreadsheets from the user to our server through a variety of Visual Basic coding, and it took me days to get it into place for every member of the company, yet the other departments give the entire credit of this code to my coworker. I've confronted my boss about it before and she says that she doesn't see any of this that I'm talking about, yet it's obvious it is occurring. Should I begin looking for another job, one where I'm actually recognized for my work and allowed to actually receive credit for what I've done? Or am I just paranoid? The last time I got called by an employee to help them out with something was over 3 months ago, while my boss and coworker are always providing assistance to others, and it really pisses me off because 70% of the time my coworker will ask me for help on how to help someone else because he didn't create the coding or manage the databases.

You're not overreacting, you're pissed off that your boss favors someone else than you, that your boss isn't acknowledging you whatsoever, but unfortunately, most jobs have that. My brother has gone through that plenty of times, and he's still staying put because A.) There's nothing else out there that he can work with his major and B.) He's getting married soon, switching jobs all of a sudden wouldn't make sense nor would it help.

You shouldn't quit your job, you really think you'll find something with the way the economy is?

You can do one of a few choices, maybe...

You can either go to your boss and talk things out, civilly, and complain that you don't think this is a fair treatment you're getting.

You can either go to the department where you can send in a complaint towards your boss, I forgot the name of it though.

You can just deal with it and ignore it.

Or, if it really thinks it'll get you somewhere and you have nothing else to go to for help, quit your job.

Honestly, I think talking it out would be better, everyone's got to feel comfortable in their workplace, otherwise, you'll have a handful of angry employees.

You shouldn't forget to toot your own horn now, considering how much you have done. If nobody's going to acknowledge you, acknowledge yourself. Make them know who you are by pointing out what it is you've done to make the company better. Show off your talents so that at least your co-workers know who to really seek out in a crisis.
If that doesn't work, then I say start looking for another job. If it's your job to do all that work and you're not getting the due credit for it, then something's wrong with that company. Of course, don't quit until you find something as good, or better.

@IceBaby and Jerrod

Thanks. What I plan to do is start applying at other companies. In the meantime, I'll have to deal with the situation, which seems to get worse daily. I don't plan on leaving until I have an offer from a place that offers equivalent pay or better. It sucks because I've been here for four years and this probably only started around June of this year and has gotten a lot worse since then. What sucks even more is that last year I was offered a job in a similar field for another company but I turned it down because I was happy at that time. Now I regret that everyday. Oh well, I'll just start putting applications in everywhere I can. The supervisors already know I'm disgruntled working here because I've already confronted them multiple times about this issue, so I don't think they would be surprised, or would even care, if I leave to another company. We're having an optional New Year's get together in January, I'm not going to go. I go to them every year, and every year it's the same shit, you see people sucking up to the higher ups and talking down to the lower ranking employees. Employees in my pay range (the middle) get completely left out and I just don't want to get through that shit again. I remember the first year I went, there were a lot of people there, then the second year there were less, and the third year there was even fewer people who went. This year would make the fourth year I've had to go to one of these and I can already imagine that the turn out is going to be small.

On a (slightly) more serious note, the status of my relationship annoys the hell out of me.

Them Crooked Vultures need to release a new album ASAP, and this song needs to be on it.

Dat mandolin. I'd put this song right up there with the best Zeppelin songs. It's awesome that John Paul Jones is actually out there making new and interesting music, while Jimmy Page is just stuck in the past.

Love this band. If anyone hasn't heard their album... listen to it.

Bang Bang!

So my girlfriend's favorite animal is a Giraffe. I was thinking about getting her a giraffe pillow pet (which she has always wanted) and while having it folded up (or whatever you would call have it closed with the Velcro) and putting a necklace with her birthstone in it while it is in that position.

Good idea, yay or nay?

Well they'd better hurry up with that, otherwise Foo Fighters will have another album out and then TCV will be delayed even more. Not that I'd object to more QOTSA and Foo Fighters.

Just wait a couple of months...or year. I don't think the library will be good from the start, and the first wave of consoles are most of the time defective.

I like it, but instead you should buy like 100 necklaces with her birthstone and stack them up the giraffe's neck. Then make her a mix tape.

However, if you can't afford it, then I liked your idea better anyway.

Lol oh how I would do your idea if I did have the money.

She's been at fencing like all day so I haven't gotten to talk to her. It doesn't help that I was home from school today with nothing to do all day. *sigh*

Trying to learn more of the ropes in Ableton. Considering asking for a USB controller for Christmas. Is the Akai apc40 worth asking for?
