I thought it was the best game in the world when I was a kid. I played that game for years on my Genesis until I got a Nintendo64, and even then I'd find time to plug it in and give it a go until I bought a used MK Trilogy.
Clearly, I don't know a thing about good fighting games.

... I kid but damn...sorry your idea got dismissed.....so its a group project that you're doing? And the group has to agree by majority what to go with?
you want to borrow my shank??
What happened was, all nine of us pitched an idea of what we had in mind for doing a stop-motion final. There were going to be two chosen. The other story that got chosen actually had a beginning, middle and end. But for some reason, I didn't want to work with that group.
And there's only two girls in the class, me and one other who was in Stop-motion 1 with me last semester. She was working in the group that I'm in, and since I know her becuase of last semester, I would rather work with people I know than strangers... In this case that is.
The thing is, the guy who I'm in the group with just thought that he can redo the Sorcerer's Apprentice only making the characters original rather than doing something with Mickey Mouse and water. But I feel that what he's going to try doing is not use any of the elements that we're learning in class, such as water splashings and smoke.
I, on the other hand, designed it in a way where all of this were to be incorporated into the story, such as a person throwing out a water bomb and splashing it on the opponent. A character was to morph into something, therefore the smoke usage would be perfect for that.
This guy has a scientist trying to have this robot clean some mess up and it soon destroys the lab. I guess, that's what he's trying to get up with... And the guy wants us to somewhat design storyboards for how this story is going to work...
The only thing I had missing from my idea was how the fight scene was going to work, and all that the group had to do was record some sort of fight, either by playing MK itself or something from a movie or whatever and try to somewhat copy, while mixing originality in it, to complete the fight scene.
At least my teacher agreed to help me outside of the class to work on this project because he literally told me that this idea should not be going to waste. And it never was anyways.

UMK3 is a great fighting game, maybe not for the SNES but for the arcade version, fuck yeah. SNES version is hard as hell and it's annoying to get the Human Smoke code to work. Sadly, it's the only version that works on my phone too. So i'm stuck with a shitty port lol

it sounds like his idea is going to be more complex and take more time and wont turnout right...how long do u have to finish it? I would've gone with your idea for sure...it sounds fun to do as well...and you had already planned out the elements you were to incorporate into the project and the water/smoke would've definitely been good with your idea...I agree with your teacher. But what do you mean when you say "and it never was anyways"? Is it still something you're going to pursue completing as a side project now?
Edit: sorry didn't read the end of your post right....well that's cool that your teacher is going to help you do it outside that class.... I would love to see how it turns out

I'm not sure if you're referring to your birth or a sad sex life. The fact you specified "human vagina" kinda worries me.
