If he wishes, let him. I have the entire history of the admin forum to show how much work people did, and no one can deny the fact he allowed inactive moderators to keep their positions. Chairshot even tried to quit, and yet he still would not push to have the rank removed. There's no other side to the story... this doesn't come from my memory, it comes from logged things in the admin forum that show how much or little people have done over the years. I really don't wish to argue; don't forget it was you who constantly brings up how much better things were in attempt to put me down as if I've not done a good job. I don't really enjoy standing around while people insult me.

1. People take this site to seriously. Hell, I'm not gonna be hypocritical, even I do - especialy since ranking up, which isn't cool.

2. Getting a job is harder than I assumed it would be.

3. (Once again) Toronto is full of posers, walking around Downtown it really is like being in a clothes ad.

4. The topics posted here for the last year maybe more are pretty boring and unoriginal, I should start more threads.

5. Mr Grimm is a badass character.

6. Twisted Metal 2 is a badss game

7. People need to watch less television. The public is too influenced by what they see on TV, turned a lot of people into zombies, consumers, everyone the same. Take a look in the mirror, are you one of them? "You laugh at me cus I'm different, I laugh at you cus your all the same!"

8. The whole hip-hop lifestyle adopted by the wig-nog's in the burbs is annoying.

9. Chelsea, Barca, Lyon, PSV and Celtic have already won their titles, Bayern, Juve/Milan, Boca/River are gonna win theirs. Soccer has been too predictable and boring of late, I hope the world cup ends that this summer, cus this season was weak (except the CL final soon, that could be awesome.)

10. Mortal Kombat regressed w/ MKD, after a positive move w/ MKDA. MKSM was interesting though, they should mix UMK3, MKG and MKSM's engine's and make a kick ass game of it.

11. From what I've seen of the X-box 360's graphics, they aren't all that good. I am kind of a Playstation fanboy

12. Can anyone tell me what the X in PSX stands for? It's puzzled me for ages

13. Some girls are really sexy, some try too hard.

14. Disturbed. The Prodigy. The Crystal Method. Rage Against the Machine. Korn.

15. Drive By? I think I broke down.

If you HONESTLY think that when I mention how things were much better before I'm saying that is has to do mostly with Jonin doing a better job than you as a forum director, you are truly a deluded person who thinks far too much about himself.

Guys, can't you all just say fuck it??? Is this really worth the blood shed? You guys come to terms and agree to disagree.. It's OK to disagree with decisions, but to drag it out on and on... Bottom line is this is the way it is..... Dragging the issue on from here would just lose it's meaning and become a flame fest... What is the real topic in this debate? It's not what Jonin and Crow did or didn't do. It's a disagreement that stemmed from a new SP to deleting rude comments to who was better..... See my point??... No one is going to make their point valid when they are just throwing mud.... wink

You can't make peace with them, Raging. I've tried to get along, but they just don't want to do that. I was talking to Niko a few days ago and we seemed to be on good terms to me; I was trying to offer a sort of truce between us with something minor. I don't ask people to agree with my decisions on ranks, but at least respect them. People just won't see it any other way but their own, and I'm supposedly the one who thinks so much of myself.

It's better to know your audience.... What I mean by this is people are so very unique and different.... Some folks shy from conflict others run to it... I seriously don't understand how they choose who they want in these positions. They say it doesn't matter how long someone has been here and all that matters is the maturity of the person...fuck that shit...you gotta pay your dues. It pisses me off that they just promote the fuck out of members who have been here less then a year and don't even bother looking at others who have been here for a long ass time. It's funny that all the users I respect on this forum are the ones that are never even looked at and it’s the ones that I think are morons that get promoted.

Alpha was right tho...he said shitchick86 or whatever her name is would get promoted sooner rather then later after she whined about not getting that PG position about a month ago which I thought was a joke since obviously only being here for a short time she didn’t deserve it.

Also like to say that it's sad in that thank you thread that people are thanking mkflegend for being the "entertainment" on these forums. It's a sad when people think his moronic posts are the most interesting thing on these forums. Things here are just boring lately...with mods deleting posts and skulling people for joking around. I guess I just miss the days of Jonin. sad

P.S. Blade and Freak being demoted from SP was pure crap...

Just because she got promoted in less than in a year doesn't necessarily means you have to insult her. The reason she got promoted so fast because she makes sure she's the first to help other's out when they need it.

Nikodemus Wrote:

Look at what you're saying, you told on your own damn self. So what u trying to say, your post are offensive, but not THAT offensive? I know alot adults on this forum, and I never came across an adult that was an problem to me. I seen you got skulled for cussing a 12 year old out.

You are an adult, 24 years old at that, and for you to be an adult, I never thought an adult can be as annoying and as ignorant as you. You are more childish than people on this forum who is barely a teenager yet. It's a damn shame that people at that age could have more sense than you'll ever have in your entire life.

It's always cute when someone is offended by my posts. I find it funny that you have the tenacity to call me infantile when I read your profile I thought I was reading something a 5 year old put up as info. Here’s a tip “yo mama” isn’t all that funny anymore.

Now as for being ignorant I think you should probably look up the definition of that word since you seem to be a little confused as to its meaning. If by some miracle you do know what the word means then let me just say that I am very informed about a wide variety of topics and I’ve also been a member of this site a lot longer then you so I know a little bit more about what’s going on.

Now back to the main point of your post.

I will apologize for spelling her username wrong because that was completely uncalled for. The fact still remains that she shouldn’t have been promoted while other great SP’s (Blade and Freak) got demoted and other people who have been here a long ass time (a lot longer then her) that I respect and a lot of other members here respect never even got looked at.

Yeah and I got my post deleted when I asked why Freak was demoted when he's more active than Chan and Ramspoon.

Crow couldn't answer my question 'cause it probably made his decisions look dumb at the very least. Then he stated that my question was off-topic, when in fact me asking a question about SPs in a thread for an SP was on topic. Saying something like, Pizza Hut owns would be off topic.

Worst of all, he could've at least PMed me the answer to my question.

You don't understand how Shadow Priests work I suppose... the rank is there so they can rank posts, not so they can have a badge and look pretty. MKF just wasn't active anymore, so during the meeting every moderator said they wished for him to be removed, and he understands this. If he were return to the form he was in when I gave him the rank, he could possibly have it back some day.

As far as Chan goes, I don't know if you've noticed, but Chan hasn't been a moderator for a very long time. She's a member of the Staff, and doesn't even have to do anything here anymore if she doesn't want to. As far as RammSPOOn goes, yes, I realize SPOOn is inactive in a certain extent but I have requested more activity, and there's a minor site project that work is done on.

It's called going off topic, and it's been covered for many years in the FAQ. If a post is deleted, chances are the thread won't go off topic because all of their friends won't be able to reply to it and make a scene.

Make a scene? Are you aware that you've actually made a bigger commotion now than if you had just left everything in it's original state to begin with? If you had left everything in that thread alone, not only would this discussion not be taking place, but people would have seen what IOLKW had posted, and probably agreed with you that it warranted a ban, so it would have worked in your favour to just let people say what they have to say.

For the record though, what I had posted, which was deleted, wasn't anything to which my friends could have replied to create a scene at all. All I did was outline the facts of why IOLKW was banned to a person who didn't fully understand. No opinions, no spin, just the facts - which I wouldn't have had to give people who didn't understand if the original posts weren't deleted. Then my post was deleted and I was accused of "spreading vicious lies", when I was in fact recounting the plain truth. Which is itself a far greater lie than anything I had said.

And somehow it makes me the bad guy because I wanted people to know the truth. I'm the lier because I simply wanted people to see what really happened there. And now becuase so much effort was spent trying to keep that information from being posted, I suspect that there may have actually been some truth to it. Maybe there is. Maybe there isn't. But how am I to know anymore?

This is what happens when you suppress what people have to say.

I didn't have to read a book..... I live by this everyday. In the military, leaders are faced with bringing people together from all walks of life..wink The challenge is to convince people to want to work together to achieve an objective or goal...wink The art of leadership is to influence people to want to work together rather than just telling them they have to work together.. You can not just tell people to put themselves in harms way you have to lead them to possibly die for their country.

Whooahh ho ho! Hold on there one moment Nelly.

It's time I stepped up and addressed things pointed in my direction that are not so nice.

Theres a helluva lot of things that go on behind the scenes thats not seen in the public eye, and that includes former Portal Guard's eyes, too.

While I was Forum Director and even after the fact, I never looked for or asked for any praise from anyone. That anyone chooses to do so is well and good and appreciated but I never did things on here for the purpose of seeking praise from anyone.

I always did what I deemed best at the time.

I'm not only a staff member but a common fan of the game and had been an extremely active poster/contibutor to threads as well.

I treated people how I would want to be treated on here as I felt nowhere superior to anyone at all and have never abused my position of power because of that.

I'm just like everyone else.

Banning people left and right for minor infractions was not one of those things I did.

I gave ample warnings to people and if they didn't heed them then they were dealt with.

If someone did something serious and worthy of a ban in my eyes, let me tell you that person was gone.

You can ask people on here that are back now from bans I had placed should they still be around on that.

I didn't rule with an iron fist on here, I tended to be a bit lenient with people and gave people a chance to come back and not mess around a second time when given that chance.

To say I did nothing at all during my position as Forum Director is an outright lie.

*Anyone* that PMed me on a problem that I did not see personally, was addressed and emailed back and I would attempt to rectify the issue if it was within my power.

Every time.

I remained unbiased, even with good friends who acted out of order on these forums. They got the same chance as everyone else did. If they messed up past my warnings, they were gone.

Just as one of many examples i could give I even had one friend (Sterolizer if you know him) PM me and actually ask me if i would really ban him if he did something wrong because I was his friend. Guess what I told him? You're damn right, he would be banned along with anyone else breaking the rules on here that I saw.

Ever hear about all the fuss on here about Clones?
Guess who was the one to detect that and have it dealt with? It was me.
I was the one who would regularly investigate users whom acted out of character on here for possible clones and I can point at people on here whom are active members as Shadow preists/Portal Guards who are guilty of this.
Some were given a private warning not to do it and their clones dealt with without forum wide drama. People whom a lot of you like on here, too.

If a problem is not directed to me and to a Portal Guard instead as often it would be, and that PG does not tell me about it, it's out of my power to do something about it now, isn't it?

This happened a lot. Sometimes issues were brought to my attention, sure. But not always.

Anything dealing with the database on this site? Out of my power at the time. I would do my best to pass the issue along to persons who could deal with that however.

See the fancy post rating setup you have on here?
It was my input sent to CCShadow on that brainstorm he came up with which helped form it as it is now.
Same idea with rankings and other different things that came in with the site revisions at the time.
CCShadow asked me for a list of things I felt would improve the forum and help make moderating it and dealing with things less of an issue and easier to manage for a small group of people.
I did so.
He's got the list and I probably still have that list of things burnt on a rewritable cd here somewhere.

I did a lot for these forums when I was in my past position.

Ban reviews? I got a ton of them. I always addressed each one. Again, ask those that sent them to me and they will tell you.

If I didn't let someone off with what they did for a long long time and there are people here that fall under that category, one person in particular over a series of months that wanted back and for their infringement, I wasn't letting them back in for a good long time or until I deemed them to have learnt that their behaviour wasn't going to get a slap on the wrists only to come back again and wreak havoc.

I have seen that happen since my own personal step down from Forum Director.

Not to say leniency is wrong, but depending on the infraction a weeks ban sometimes just is not enough.

The fact that I have a Social LIFE and Personal LIFE *off* of these forums had a helluva lot to do with my inactivity as it were in those last months.

Dealing with life itself and my own personal wellbeing and issues comes before any website. Hands Down.

Some people like Crow might have a shitload of free time to chase down every single posting and problem on here because they don't have those exact same issues to deal with or in the same capacity as I was dealing with them, but I did not in the last few months of my Forum Director position.

There was no life threatening condition that forced his hand to do what he did in his time here as PG.

Don't bring out the Violins, that was his choice to do as much as he did.

I'm not knocking him on his work and efforts, certainly he did do a ton of work on here and it should be applauded and he's got his fair share of kudos for it.
And because these positions are voluntary and unpaid theres nobody forcing someones hand to do things. You just can't.

As far as Crow being even promoted to Portal Guard status to have his say in anything to do with this website at all, he should be thanking me.
I was the one whom stepped up to plate and had strongly recommended him as being one of our Portal Guards at the time due to my assessment of how his temperament and actions on the forums as well as his behaviour in the chatroom proved him to be worthy of a shot at it.

I was dealing with issues at work and my workplace shutting down due to a union coming in, I was engaged to be married and trying my best to sort issues with that and the process of sorting out a drastic change in my life and possible relocation out of the country due to it. Family life interfered as well.

I did not feel that every tom dick and harry at the time should know my personal life inside and out that I would have to explain and air it out here in front of the public eye or even to all staff members.

The fact that its come down to my HAVING to air my own personal business in this posting to justify my actions or lack of thereof is pretty sad, but when I'm having the finger pointed at me and accusations made without the other side of the story being told, I pretty well have to.

Chairshot being a PG? I had no issues with his being removed from his inactivity. Could I do it personally? Not within my power to alter the database. When I was asked on it near the end I gave the go ahead to have him removed. CCShadow isn't exactly of free time himself always and certain things could not be done without his assistance on the matter. Maybe I should have pressed the issue more but thats come and gone now.
Kryptondog? Asked me if I would give him a bit of time to sort things out in his life and give him a chance to do work again as PG. I agreed and allowed him that time as long as I could until others complained.

Do NOT ever say I didn't remove inactive or innappropriate people from the Portal Guard roster and did nothing.

I can NAME the ones I had removed.

BrandonBooth
BarakaMK
Nosaj-Samoht (a longtime contributor to this site and founder of the irc channel)
JRF

All removed at my request.

And again, personal issues made my appearances on the admin forum scarce.
Comment on forums Logs all you want but when you are dealing with things offline thats not exactly something you can "Log" for proof.

Many a time when I was trying to work things out with my fiancee at the time via IM were in fact *interrupted* due to issues on the forums.

I still would go into irc and talk to those who wanted my input on these things and foolishly set aside personal issues in favour of this website.

That others had ZERO consideration for these things, Crow being one of them, irritated me more than little. When I say "just a moment i'll be there in a bit, talking to my fiancee" thats a bit of a hint to back the fuck off.

Did I make some mistakes and certain things should have been made at least a little more obvious at the time to select members of staff that I needed some help with my task as Forum Director?
Sure. I'm not saying I didn't need help in the last months of my position.
It's human nature to make mistakes.

The fact of the matter is that I did not want to assign a shitload of newbie Portal Guards who many wanted in that position due to popular vote and friendships.

I agreed we needed new ones when it was brought to my attention even while dealing with issues on my own time offline, and we ended up with a meeting on it.

I don't give a flying fuck if people were saying "Oh! person X should be a portal guard! they are popular on the forums!"

Anyone in the last decison making I made in regards to a voting for Portal Guards that were chosen, suggested and voted by myself as being someone I trusted with that responsibility was done not out of favouritism.
I did so in the fact they seemed mature, responsible and unbiased enough in my own opinion to handle the job and to do it well.

A TON of people fricassed/flamed Chan Ming for being brought on as a Portal Guard.

Guess what? I was one of the strongest supporters of her in giving her the chance to become one due to her experience running forums of her own and other factors I weighed into that, regardless what public opinion was at the time on who should be a Portal Guard on the forums.

I helped make hard decisions on here, and one of those was resigning from my position as Forum Director willingly. Nobody said for me to leave. I realized my personal life was messing into my ability of doing the job at the time and stepped down partially for that reason.

Crow and I were to share duties as Forum Director on here. There was no "replacing" me as it were, being done.
Obviously I was not doing everything wrong in my position or I would have been asked to resign.
I resigned because of my personal issues and not being on as often as I used to be because of that, as well as the fact that knowing two people having vastly differing opinions on what leniency and dealing with people and the forums at large should be like, and knowing there would be a definite clash of horns on many issues at hand, I stepped down to avoid that conflict as it would be adding more chaos into the workload than need be and complicate matters for everyone not only on staff but people whom participated on these forums.

In fact, when I did want to resign completely from the site in my stepping down (and I did) Scott Howell for one wouldn't let me. grin
DArque, being another who voted I should remain on as a shared Forum Director and others still whom shared that opinion on staff.

So, I would ask that my being accused of doing nothing while in my position as Forum Director be backpedaled here because as you can see from this posting I sure as hell did a lot for these forums when I was in power to do so.

And if anyone is recalling the "days of Jonin" and wishing them to be back, don't get irritated about it.
The days of Jonin are come and gone as to my being Forum Director on here.
And as you well know now, the job isnt all so easy to do and manage on your own now, is it?
Look at the fleet of help you have now that I did not back then.
It should put a few things into perspective and consideration but obviously it hasn't.

If they recall how I dealt with things on here fondly, does that not indicate that I was doing something right at least at the time? I would assume so, or else my name would be instead dragged down in curses and hate instead.
I treated people on here as people, just like myself.
Not as faceless names on the screen to be wiped away without a lot of consideration to be made.
That wasn't how I worked things and it sure as hell isn't nowadays either if I were in position to do as I once did.

My personal life comes first, websites on the internet come second.

Need I say it again?

I think not.

Indeed.

This is becoming too much of a deal imo.

Someone with time, resources and lack of laziness should seriously consider making a movie that either spoofs or parodys MK5.org/MKO from its humble beginings to recent isht, wether it be a drama, a comedy, an action film, a horror flick, suspense, chase thriller (or a combination of all even.)

Make it a triology, I guarantee the success of this flick; also make sure that I am granted a percentage of the profits too!
