I've shaken hands with David Copperfield, Tom Green and the bassist and lead singer of Hed p.e., had the lead singer of sevendust pass me a "cigarette" that he just lit on stage because i was in the front row, and saw Kevin Nealon eating lunch, but he was hounded by other fans so i didn't bother him. Yup, that about does it. Any of y'all had a close encounter of the 3rd kind with a celeb?

Of course! Far more valuable than those I've listed above in terms of notoriety and influence!

The most famous person I've ever met is probably George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States.

I've met a lot of minor famous people due to the theater I used to work at, too many to list honestly. Though one of my favorites was Paolo Montalban, who actually played Kung Lao in the Mortal Kombat: Conquest series.

Formally met -

Lucie Arnaz (Lucille Ball's daughter) - just recently at The National Theater in DC for the Pippin revival.

All original members of In This Moment - more than once at a few of their early concerts. They always remember my fan art, yay! Lol.

Rob Zombie - shook his hand after a concert and we talked briefly about his Halloween remake, which was a hit at the time.

John 5 - He is MY "Guitar Hero"!! This man can really make a guitar sing, let me tell you what. Had a meet and greet with him a couple times at Zombie concerts. 1st J5 fan club member of the month right hurr!

All current members of Cradle Of Filth - Dani is a prick. And is way short. Paul Allender is a badass.

The Veronicas - such sweet girls, and they truly deserve their fame. OUTSTANDING show.

All original and current members of Killswitch Engage - Adam (guitarist) is a hoot. Anyone who is a fan, already knows this. But he's pretty comical. Drew a dick on some guy's forehead as an autograph. Oh good stuff.

Randoms -

Marilyn Manson - there's no greater experience than holding Manson's hand during "The Dope Show", while he snot rockets the annoying drunk bitch beside you. I'm particularly proud of this one. Marilyn Manson has always been somewhat of an idol to me, and the look on that drunk girl's stupefied face? PRICELESS.

Elizabeth Hurley - this woman gives Gwenneth Paltrow a run for her money. When you think "stuck up, prissy, and narcissistic" , these two should easily come to mind. My friend's dad wanted an autograph and miss Hurley straight up huffed, puffed, eye-roll finish. It's not like he interrupted her marriage proposal or anything. Amirite?

Bruce Willis - saw him in a restaurant in Rhode Island. Ordered exactly what I'd imagine an action star of his status would....a big fat juicy hamburger.

Taylor Momsen from The Pretty Reckless (and the Grinch as Cindy Lou-Who!) - smoked a cigarette and chatted with this charming woman while waiting outside a venue to see the Veronicas.

Nice thread! smile

I've met legendary wrestler Killer Kowalski. I used to work at grocery store in high school and he actually operates a wrestling school in the area. Him and his wife actually came through my register.

I was a big fan of the band The Format. They split up, and Nate Ruess went on to create the (now quite successful) band Fun.

When Fun. was just starting out, they played a small show that I had the pleasure of attending. That's when I ran into Nate Ruess at the bar. The bar tender was explaining to him that they only take cash and that the ATM was out of service when I walked up, so I offered to buy his drink for him. After some resistance, he let me buy him a drink. We "cheersed" and he went backstage to prepare for the show.

Now that Fun. and Nate Ruess have become household names and are big and famous, I plan to ask him to buy me a drink the next time I run into him at a show.

Fun fact (no pun intended): During that show, he fucked up some lyrics to one of his (then) brand new songs, and I like to think I'm partially responsible for that. Thanks, alcohol!

That's awesome about Nate. He should be so humbled that Eminem chose him to do the chorus in headlights as it is by far the most personal and tear jerking song of his career.

For the curious, I found the video on YouTube where he pooched the lyrics. I apparently even commented on it four years ago on an ancient YouTube account that I haven't used in years. Ha!

Warm personality. Some say he was hard to work with. Mr.Candy was one of those men you meet, and you understand why they do what they do(R.i.p).

Nobody as famous as some of the people listed here so far but ive meet some people that are sort of famous.

I used to skateboard a lot and was actually sponsored by the local shop for a while but they ended up closing down and I ended up doing other things due to some things going on in my life at the time but before that I met a whole lot of famous skateboarders like Jamie Thomas, Chris Cole, P-Rod, Bryan Herman, Andrew Reynolds and a lot more, pretty much the entire Zero/Mystery team and the entire Baker/Emerica team as well, it was awesome meeting the people who were literally the people I idolized at the time.

I met Pusha T when I was in V.A beach a year or twp ago, that was awesome too, really nice guy.

I guess I could add some more of the people I've met--

I've been watching Celebrity (should read "celebrity") Apprentice this year, and I've met Lorenzo Lamas, so I found it funny that he's on this show now.

I also met Rue McClanahan a few years before she passed away.

Sally Struthers, Leslie Uggams, Clay Aiken, all of them from the theater I used to work at.

I had a brief run-in with former Red Sox player Kevin Youkilis when he was still in the minors.

I've also met a few now NHL players, during their college days at my alma mater. Gustav Nyquist (plays for Detroit), and Brian Flynn (Buffalo).

In the political world, I've met both of my state's current Senators (Susan Collins and Angus King), as well as both of the state's representatives (Chellie Pingree and Bruce Poliquin). Oh, and Barbara Bush, at the same time I met George H.W. Bush as explained above. Still haven't met George W. though. I don't think I've met that many music people. Mnozil Brass (check them out, they're really good!) is probably the only one.

I've met a handful, but the three encounters I remember best are:

Claudio Sanchez (lead singer, Coheed and Cambria) - Claudio's a very soft-spoken guy, almost reserved in person. I met him and his wife at NY Comic Con in like 2010 I think. Bought a copy of The Year of the Black Rainbow (the book) which Claudio and his co-author signed for me. I mostly remember this encounter because one of my friends was so starstruck while the rest of us were able to remain chill and hold a conversation with him.

Ralphie May (comedian) - I got to talk with him a bit after he did a show in my town last year. He's exactly the same on and off the stage. Signed a t-shirt for me and my brother's G-pen, then asked where he could get good wax in our town. Dude's asking for us to help him get drugs. What.

Mick Foley (crazy son of a bitch and WWE Legend) - Noticed he was sitting in the same row as me at a minor league baseball game years ago. He was with his kid, I think, and was very pleasant to be around and converse with. I didn't have anything for him to sign, but it's just as well because the experience was more than worth it.

Several popular EDM producers/promoters throughout my time as a music producer. They hadn't really blown up then. My current boss is a former Vice President.

Never really fell into the whole celebrity worship thing. They are all just people. Some of them have brilliant insight. A lot of them are eccentric, in a good way. Keep a level head around them, don't ask them the typical annoying shit they always hear, and you might learn something.

The rapper Slug from Atmosphere, twice. Both times I was in a big line of people all meeting him one at a time before a concert. Both times he could not give a shit less. Cool guy tho, really funny in person. Got my picture taken with him the first time, right before the picture he told me to "look hard" and i did my best gangsta pose (had no idea wtf to do) while he made a funny face last second.
