How do you create your threads?

Its a weird question, but think about it a little. Many have asked me how I come up with my ideas and stories and others have commented on my presentation of ideas. I create my threads usually by coming up with something I want to discuss or present and then depending on how small the issue is, Ill post straight away or Ill take some time to make a decent thread and research my ideas or thoughts. In the case of this thread, it was a sudden topic I thought of and just decided to post it straight away.
So how about yourselves? Are you the sort of person who just posts a thread as soon as the idea comes to you, or do you take a little time to consider it a little? Or maybe youll plan out what youll put, or if its an idea youre posting, do you take some time to research your ideas and make sure they work. Do you base your threads on your experiences, some random inspiration or thought or maybe some idea or topic you want to discuss?
Please share.

I never really thought about it before. Usually the idea will come into my head and I'll spend like 7 minutes typing it, then post it.
When an idea comes into my head, I usually don't post it for awhile. I think to myself how many people will reply, and all that stuff, you know? There are some exceptions though, and sometimes I post something that happens immediately.
BTW, good thread tgrant!

I don't often create threads anymore, but when i do, sometimes i consider the topic a little before posting it, and sometimes i don't demonstrate even a sliver of intelligence or thought (as shown recently). Thats just how it is.
As for content, i type it as it flows from my skull. Rarely do i think about what i'm typing as far as content is concerned (which might be the reason my posts are riddled with mistakes).

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... well sometimes I post topics that some might find interesting. Other times it's usually something that's been on my mind for some time. With the ladder, I tend to analyze things that I find interesting or suits my personal interests. Eh, but most of the time they all go to shit, so I wouldn't claim myself as being an authority on creating good threads.

Alot of mine come from ideas that I get through emails during the day while at work. Others come from listening to the radio or something i see while watching TV that I might find interesting.
If it's from an email i will post it right away as i am already on the computer, but from another source i normally wait til the following day, and that's only if i remember.

If its a topic I think is quality I sometimes think of the points I will make. Often I look at reference sites to make sure I'm right, or to get extra info (or both). Then I'll write a few of my main points, my arguments, and then when I'm writing the thread the rest just falls into place as I type. Other times an idea comes into my head and I just post it there and then.
You can tell which is which in my threads, as the long developed ones are the ideas I've thought a lot about, and the short ones are the spontaneous thoughts. I think it depends on the forum too.
When I reply though, I never write out points, I just hit 'reply' and start to type...

Before, I would sometimes create a thread about even the smallest thing.
Nowadays, I only make one if I see/read/hear something that shocks/impresses me enough that I'd wanna share and HOPEFULLY will get some input, or a thread that I know will get plenty of feedback from different users. In the last several months, I've made about one thread per month, and excluding my Topics thread (which you can find HERE ; btw, WHY haven't more of you contributed to it yet??
), the next thread I make will probably be the third Idol competition, which I (and maybe more than a few users here
) am really looking foward to.

When I used to create threads, I usually thought about it a little, organized it in my mind then post it. I used to create theads as soon as I got the idea too.
Now, I just don't create threads, I just reply.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, it's always fun.

I usually create threads based on something I haven't seen being discussed in a forum that I am interested in, first making sure that it isn't being discussed elsewhere with keyword searches. As a result, I've never been shot down for making a redundant topic.

I am? OMG! I never knew! lol
Thanks, man!
Others posts can trigger ideas in your mind. Sometimes I base some threads of the ideas other sposted. Only I expand on them in my own way.

whoa when I saw the title I immediately thought: paradox... but now that I think about it I just do it hoping people talk to me because I am oh so lonely...love me?
Well, I only tend to create threads if something crosses my mind at that particular moment. I get an idea of something I'd want to see and then just post my thoughts on it and see if anyone agrees...these things tend to be pretty randum. Except for my Created Characters. Those I put a great deal of thought into.
Nice thread Ty.

In the rare occasion that I do make a thread, it's usually about something that expect only a few people to respond to. It's usually something I want people's opinion on that would have too much of a hassle to use the pm system. In the past three years, I think I've made maybe 10 threads, or less.

I rarly post threads. I'am more of a replyer. The only time I post a thread is when I find something on the news or TV thats worst talking about, or when I think of something interesting to talk about myself. that is all.

Thanks, Tazzer!
You have a more random approach to your threads. That's cool. Character concepts take a lot of time and effort so I can understand why you spend some time on those!
Thanks to Toxik and all who replied!

Well it's not that i have a method, whenever i have an idea, i just try to order my ideas, and type them straight away, once i wrote it on word just becuz it was a large one, but i usually tpe it fast, fast.

So you post when the idea comes to you, but you quickly organise your thoughts first. Nice approach, bro!
I usually go for something that i feel is interesting to me and the reader and provokes one to think... but i got back and forth, sometimes mines over little things then big things... i havent been making threads as much as i used to...
