Still, that is good news for KI fans. I'm thinking an HD collection but a sequel seems possible now.

It's them teasing the fans again by showing off that, "yeah Killer Instinct is still in our hands, but we're still not going to do anything with the series." Every now and then, this game makes some list about having another sequel be added to it, or a series we'd like to see make a comeback, but that's all we're going to get.

Microsoft hasn't said a damn thing about what they're doing with the series for a long time. I really believe this is just them, teasing with the fans that they have the series still in their possession, they're just showing off that they're promoting their protective claim.

Xbox does shit on Sony's indie's games. We ain't crap for indies. Though, I am fine with the collections which I need to get a hold of.

Journey and Sound Shapes are indie right? Those got huge critical acclaim. As of right now Sony has the best exclusives.

I actually completely forgot about Journey and Sound Shapes. I thought flower was a awesome game. So soothing and just overall a nice game.

PS3 goes more for the nice exclusives and such, and Xbox goes more for serious multiplayer and the better online since they have to pay for it.

I'll be cool if Microsoft simply released Killer Instinct for XBox Live Arcade.

That's all the series really needs right now, to be honest. A quick release to get the fans (and some newcomers) roaring again.

I for one would LOVE to see Killer Instinct 3, I'd be really happy with HD updates of KI and KI2... Heck, I'd be more than fine with just straight re-releases of KI and KI2 on XBL.

I'm guessing one of the latter two might possibly happen given who was talking about this. But who knows, it could just as easily be a "yeah, the property was about to expire, so we renewed it."

As for Microsoft exclusives, yeah, they've been SORELY lacking as this generation has worn on. About all we have left are Halo, Gears and Forza, which is crazy to me given how many exclusives Microsoft used to have.

I'd love to see a new Mech Assault and a new Crimson Skies while we're dreaming here.

I didn't play it much in the arcade days, but I am very anxious to see a successful sequel. I've seen tons of footage and seems like the closest game to MK besides MK.

It's great that MS renewed the rights. An HD port of older games would be awesome, but I'd rather them do a KI3. With Bayonetta 2 being exclusive to Wii U, as well as the ultimate version of Ninja Gaiden 3 (not the abomination that was on 360 / PS3), and the resurgence of fighting games in the recent years, I think MS finally realized it's smart to keep Killer Instinct exclusive to them and hopefully make a sequel.

My thinking, it is wishful.

I remember this series... I don't think very highly of Microsoft though, given they've not taken advantage of it, so I don't really know what to expect from them, aside from nothing.
