Mad Max: Fury Road – Comic Con Footage [Jul 27, 2014]

Directed, produced and co-written by George Miller -- the man behind the landmark original & trilogy. Starring Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky (formerly Mel Gibson). Also featuring Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson and many more.

Post-apocalyptic Australian landscapes and punks. Over the top road warrior, rev-head action. If you don't know the originals, there's still plenty of time to investigate the originals before Fury Road hits May, 2015.

This one should be on MK fans' radars with the recent Ferra/Torr references. If it isn't - we took the opportunity to note the significance in a feature (and yes. Throw some black gold on the guest character fire).

If you haven't seen the Comic Con trailer - YouTube link's above. We got any takers? I think the opinions of newcomers are going to be just as interesting as the grizzled road warriors.

Release date is May 15 2015.

What do ya know? It releases on my Birthday grin

Is this the tie-in 2015 movie that NRS (Boon) were referring to back in June and could we see Mad Max in MKX?

See; Speculation: Could a 2015 Movie Tie-In Provide MKXs Guest Fighter?

Warner Bros. has rolled out another Japanese trailer for “Mad Max: Fury Road” that condenses and intensifies much of the gorgeous footage we’ve already seen, transforming it into a minute-long frenzy.

Cool that the movie has been Rated R and it has the original director of Mad Max behind,it should be a fun ride at least.

The movie was really good I saw it on the 15th in RealD 3D. Even got a cool poster they gave me its hanging up on my door. The effects were great the cars were cool and tons of explosions with bit of humor.

Thought there may of been stuff after the credits or during credits but there wasn't. I was hoping for a Mel Gibson cameo but no.

Definitely made me want to play Borderlands again.

Definitely worth seeing if you enjoyed previous film in the franchise.

- George Miller Says He Courted Heath Ledger To Lead 'Mad Max' In 2006, Reveals Title For 'Fury Road' Sequel

“We’ve got one screenplay and a novella. It happened because with the delays [on 'Fury Road'], and writing all the backstories, they just expanded,” Miller explained on The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith about the genesis of the followup films. And while he hasn't gotten around to storyboarding them —give the guy a break, he only finished 'Fury Road' a few weeks before it opened around the world— he says the next entry will be titled “Mad Max: The Wasteland.” So ruminate on what that might mean for the next adventures of Max Rockatansky. But in an alternate universe, 'Fury Road' would've already been released with a different actor in the lead role.

“Every time Heath [Ledger] would come through Sydney, he’d call in and we’d chat about Max,” Miller told The Daily Beast. “He had that same thing that Mel and Tom Hardy have —that maleness, charisma, and restless energy, which you need to play a relatively still character. The world lost someone great when he went. Tom was the next to walk through the door that had that vibe.” Indeed, Hardy does a lot with very little dialogue-wise in 'Fury Road' and yet still commands the screen.

More pre-production info in the article. More fun times ahead! Wee!

You guys hear about those "men's rights activists" claiming this movie shoves feminism down their throat because the female characters in the movie aren't damsels in distress? lol

Might have to watch it for that fact alone.

I LOVED this movie. It was absolutely worth it. I would see it again. It's so cool, and I don't mean just because of practical effects and explosions. Its story is also really good, and the imagery? Fantastic.

I'm currently in the hospital because this movie's awesomeness melted my face off. Prospects look bad, but the movie was amazing. I think I went thru puberty a fuckin second time while watching it and came out of the theater even more of a man. The director is the undisputed king of the post apocalyptic genre (pretty sure he started it too). The world of Mad max is strait up scary, and of course, completely insane. 10/10 I will for sure see it again before it leaves theaters.

- ‘Mad Shelia’ Trailer: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Gets Wild Chinese Interpretation [YouTube]

One would think that a cornerstone of modern filmmaking, the post-apocalyptic action film, would remain pure and untouched. But just when 2016 couldn’t possibly get any more perplexing, along comes “Mad Shelia: Virgin Road,” the Chinese, er, interpretation of George Miller’s universally beloved “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

The film is centered around a woman named Xi Liya, who embarks on a wild chase across a desert to save a group of virgins from being sold to leather-clad, goggle-wearing warlords. Sadly, it appears the flame-throwing guitar rig didn’t make the cut.

This is actually kind of glorious.

I recently got the Black and Chrome edition of the movie.

It's really interesting from an artistic perceptive. I feel in lot of ways it brings out more detail in the film. Some scenes though that look really striking in the colored version, seem lost in Black and White (like the flaming guitarists).

I almost wish they would make a mixed color palette version of the film. Where the majority of the film is in black and white, but different elements like fire, explosions, the lighting storm, water from the citadel scenes, etc are done in full color. Think of the movie pleasantville.

Regardless though, the B&W version is still worth checking out.
