As i previously stated in a different thread, i recently got a DS and of course, bought the Mario Kart for it. Loving it all but those missions can be a right arse! I wonder if anyone knows (if it's possible) how to play more than the mushroom cup and shell cup on multiplayer with only one game cart?

Favourite track ? GCN Baby Park. Love playing on vs. mode and changing to 9 laps for maximum crazy.

Playing this game caused me to forget out the pizza in the oven and it overcooked by 5 minutes.

I would not recommend playing while cooking.

Burning a pizza still not as BS as the amount of blue shells I get hit with in this game.

Baby park is one of my favorite tracks. However, I think it only works best on MKDD!! because of the special items you can get only on that game. For example, throwing the big bowser shell and leaving the giant banana at the right curve can make that course crazy fun.
In that track you can definitely go from 1st to 8th or even 12th on the last lap, if there are a bunch of items running around the track.

So I just read that N64 Rainbow Road is coming back! (yay!) However, I read that they are splitting it in 3 parts like the one on MK7. I feel like they are just going to ruin it... >:( I want it to be like it originally was. The main reason I didn't like Rainbow Road on MK7 is because it was split in three parts.

The retro tracks they have revealed so far are not bad. I wish they would add more from older games (mksnes to mk advance). They tend to be lazy and add more from the latest installments, because I'm guessing they are easy to remake.

I'm excited for two of the last retro courses that are now confirmed. I was expecting a Bowser Castle though.. ;/
These retro courses are not that bad, only because they look like a brand new tracks.

Btw, if this new Rainbow Road is divided into 3 laps again.. Is going to suck. They already ruined Rainbow N64 by dividing it into 3 laps.

- Report: First Nintendo Mobile App Will Be Mario Kart TV

According to analyst David Gibson, who is attending the briefing, the company will release a mobile app that pairs with Mario Kart 8. The Mario Kart TV app will be able to access saved highlight videos and rankings. Release is planned before the end of the current fiscal year (March 31, 2015).



Not exactly kicking the doors down with functions, but sounds like an interesting compliment to the game.

Am I the only one that dislikes the new Rainbow Road?

After seeing videos of it. It looks so short and it doesn't feel like rainbow road. Making the road go into a satellite in outerspace it's a cool idea. However, all that metalic around it takes away from the Rainbow is supposed to be... Personally I'm not happy with this one. Good thing the one from N64 is on the game. Which is way better than the new one.

- Drive a Mercedes in 'Mario Kart 8'



Mercedes-Benz is now a part of the Mushroom Kingdom. To commemorate the simultaneous release of Nintendo's excellent Mario Kart 8 and the new GLA SUV — both available in Japan from today — you'll be able to download a "GLA Kart" to use in your races against Bowser, Yoshi, and co.

The downloadable content will be free and available from this summer in Japan, but it may make its way elsewhere; a Nintendo UK spokesperson told Eurogamer that "we will be able to announce in the near future" any plans for a wider release.

Something about this level of product placement in a saccharine series like Mario Kart feels really wrong -- and yet -- it's kind of awesome, too. A bit like those authentic Mercedes kiddy peddle cars they used to do.

OMFG TPB was here! there's some old school faces too! Sorry for not posting on subject. I have the game already and it's fucking amazing, everything about it is to be loved except for the Battles, some controls on the bikes and the lack of a double item.gringringrin

That Mercedes-Benz just doesn't seem like it fits well. I didn't know Mario was going all need for speed now. Lol. I think they should stick to the regular karts. Hopefully they don't put any more real cars in there.

The Mario kart bundle looks very tempting. Aside from Mario kart, Smash Brother is the only other game I want for the Wii u. I'm going to hold out until e3, to see if a new console pans out for them. Otherwise I'm probably going to get a Wii u by the end of the summer, if not by June.

A bit off topic, but Gamespot just announced that Nintendo will be releasing a 4 port gamecube controller to Wii U adapter for smash brothers, so players can use thier gamecube controllers on the Wii u.
