I watched the entire season of Dare Devil season 2 with 13 episodes back to back in 1 day. It was great show I'm kind of interested on how Iron Fist is handled. Watched it the day it was released loved the scene were punisher put the cartel on meat hooks and the scene were he killed the entire cellblock. Straight up badass Frank Castle.

Boom!

I just found out, can't believe you beat me to the punch!

It’s official: The Punisher is getting his own TV series.

EW has learned that Marvel has ordered a spin-off starring vigilante character introduced in Daredevil season 2.

Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as vengeful military veteran Frank Castle, who brings his own lethal form of justice to Hell’s Kitchen.

Writer and executive producer Steve Lightfoot (Hanniba, Casualty) will serve as showrunner.

Marvel’s The Punisher marks the sixth series ordered (so far) as part of the collaboration between Netflix and Marvel Television, including the upcoming Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the ensemble miniseries The Defenders – along with Jessica Jones and the aforementioned Daredevil. (And in case you’re wondering, as we are, whether Bernthal’s character will also be added to The Defenders lineup, that’s not yet clear – though it seems likely he’ll at least pop in for an appearance.)

Word that Netflix was working on a potential Punisher spin-off was first reported by TV Line last summer. Netflix and Marvel are expected to publicly announce the project later Friday.

Jon Bernthal killed it (har) as Frank. This makes me very happy.

I hope we get Garth Ennis-levels of violence.

With all the gore and disgusting shit I loved watching in the first two season of Daredevil, I almost guarantee this spin-off will be even more brutal.

- "Jessica Jones" Season 2 & "The Defenders" to Film Back-to-Back

Speaking to Digital Spy, Ritter confirmed the intensive shooting schedule, saying, "They'll be back-to-back. I don't know if they'll overlap a little bit...It's about to be a serious undertaking. I'm starting my physical training - lots of weight training and boxing."

Ritter also touched on the dangling threads from Season 1, and how that'll impact the series going forward: "I'm excited to see what happens next for Jessica, and the end of season one left a lot of doors open and questions unanswered...Kilgrave was her reason for getting up every morning. Saving people gave her purpose. I wonder how emotionally taxed she's going to be now."

Ritter went on to hint at the possibility of cameos from other Marvel characters, considering the series' shared universe connection: "That opens a lot of doors as to who will come out and play. We all live in the same universe, so there are endless possibilities."

Getting interested to see how it all comes together and who else shows up.

- "Luke Cage" Headed to SDCC with a Sneak Peek

Marvel and Netflix's upcoming "Luke Cage" series is reportedly headed to Comic-Con Internation: San Diego with showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker and stars Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard) and Theo Rossi (Shades).

According to Deadline, the "Daredevil"/"Jessica Jones" spinoff is also bringing some footage to show the audience, two months ahead of the series premiere on September 30. They note that Jessica Jones actress Krysten Ritter (who's likely to appear on "Luke Cage") will not be there.

Looking forward to it. Would love to see some yellow in there. (Can do without the tiara).

- Marvel's Iron Fist - SDCC - First Look - Netflix [HD] [YouTube]

Danny Rand fights relentlessly to regain everything he's lost in Marvel's Iron Fist, coming soon to Netflix.

- Marvel's The Defenders - SDCC Teaser - Netflix [HD] [YouTube]

Marvel's The Defenders will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, as they face their biggest threat yet.

It's all coming together, cheap and nasty. Can't jive with the visuals, but the Cage trailer is pretty damn great. If you only watch one - make it that one.

While I'm not currently up to speed (or particularly interested) in Superhero shows, I gotta say I did watch the first season of Daredevil and loved its execution.

I liked it more than the vast majority of Marvel movies, actually. I hope these shows keep the same level of quality high, hopefully I'll get the time and inclination sometime to watch them.

- New Seasons of "Jessica Jones," "Punisher" & "Daredevil" Won't Debut Until 2018

At the TCA press tour, Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos revealed the Marvel Television shows wouldn't arrive on Netflix until at least 2018.

In addition to reaffirming "Luke Cage's" September release date, Sarandos confirmed that "Iron Fist" and "Defenders" will both debut in 2017; to date, Netflix has released only two original Marvel series per year, and it seems "Iron Fist" and "Defenders" will keep that tradition.

As such, "Jessica Jones" Season 2, the recently announced "Daredevil" Season 3 and "Punisher's" first season won't arrive until 2018 at the earliest; it is unclear at this time if Netflix will break tradition and air three shows that year. However, Krysten Ritter -- who plays the titular Jessica Jones -- has previously said that her show will film back-to-back with "Defenders," which makes it seem likely that "Jessica Jones" Season 2 will land a 2018 spot.

Sarandos also played coy when asked if Jon Bernthal's Punisher will turn up in "Defenders," which will unite all of the title characters of Marvel's Netflix series. "Stay tuned," he said.

Not really surprising.

- Luke Cage and Misty Knight Take Center Stage in New Netflix Photos

I like seeing the yellow in his hood. Would love to see it as a shirt or tee.

Still can't tell if they've cast Misty Knight as an ass kicker. Should at least be an option.

- Marvel's Iron Fist | NYCC Teaser Trailer [HD] | Netflix [YouTube]

K'un-Lun saved him. Lei Kung trained him. And now, Danny Rand is back to fight for what's his.

Glad to see they didn't strip the character down too much. The mountains, the tattoo, the martial arts, the glowing fist, and possibly even the wealth -- all there! Groovy!

- Sigourney Weaver is Netflix’s Defenders Villain

During Marvel Televison and Netflix’s “Iron Fist” panel at New York Comic Con, Oscar-nominee Sigourney Weaver was announced as the villain for the upcoming “Defenders” series.

Weaver’s character was not named, as the panel wrapped moments after she arrived on stage following Jeph Loeb announcing her involvement with the series.

In a recent interview, Weaver mentioned that she has recently been watching a lot of Marvel films. “I have been watching, for whatever reason, some Marvel movies, and they cast really good actors.”

The cast of Netflix’s upcoming Marvel mini-series “The Defenders” continues to expand, with seemingly every major character from “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones” and “Luke Cage” joining the fight against (or perhaps with?) Sigourney Weaver’s still unnamed villain. The latest character to join the Netflix series’ sprawling cast is Elodie Yung’s Elektra.

Those additions include “Daredevil” alums Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Scott Glenn; “Jessica Jones” players Rachael Taylor and Eka Darville; and “Luke Cage” stars Simone Missick and Rosario Dawson. Even Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing, who will debut in next year’s “Iron Fist,” has joined the cast.
