Demo looks impressive for current gen, but there's no way it'll actually look as nice on PS3. 1080p + HQ anti-aliasing? No way.

Yeah, console version will look pretty dumbed down compared to PC.

Well, the whole idea is that it was running on a PC, but with PS3 specs. I still don't think the PS3 could handle that though. It'd be nice to be proven wrong.

I finally got around to seeing the demo. I'm glad we get to play as Big Boss again. Can't wait to see more about this game.

I could care less about the graphics.

This and Hitman Absolution are at the top of my list.

I liked the holographic map thing Big Boss had, and the weird scanner thing used to remove the XOF logo

I know... What I meant was playing a side game that's about those events. Well, I wouldn't see how we'd want to play a game that was about creating clones off of Big Boss, but having something that shows us what it looked like. Or having a game that's only about Boss, so we'd be playing a female for once. Just a thought.

The trailer though... wow, I've yet to see anything from this series that has disappointed me. You know, I've always seen a lot of hate against Raiden and how you played more as him in the second one rather than Snake, but I never minded that. I just can't wait to see more revealed, and I'm glad they're not shoving it all out in our faces like that!

I know the kid is most likely Chico, but people have mentioned others. What about Solidus? Advanced aging compared to Solid and Liquid and pretty sure he was a kid soldier

The trailer's end music reminds me that of the Call of Duty: Black Ops II reveal trailer. The graphics were stunning. So Ekans has returned.

Can't be Chico, he was like 14 in Peace Walker, and the kid is much younger looking... I think it could be one of the other four Snakes (Solid, Liquid, Solidus, or Raiden), the brothers were all made around Peace Walker (and I think they were born two years after) Raiden was born in the 80s, and Solidus killed his parents to raise him as a soldier, which would fit with the conversation held.

I think we will be getting something very close to that

They have been developing a lot of it on the ps3 too, and im sure after mgs4 they are familiar with the system

So according to Kojima via twitter, Big Boss doesn't have grey hair, and that was a trick of the Fox Engine's lighting stuff, so he isn't quite Old Boss yet

Apparently it's called Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and the GZ story is just the first part or something.

Has Kojima lost his mind? He's coming up with all these weird titles and now no David Hayter? Perhaps his perpetual youth came at a cost...

In related news, this was my reaction to the news.

I haven't seen anything that confirms he has no involvement in MGS5 yet...

I don't understand how everybody seems to have missed this. That kid was confirmed to be Chico THE SAME DAY that we seen that trailer. The english translators at the live demo even talked about "Chico across the camp". There is also talk of Paz's "survival" which seems fresh enough in etched memory to place this almost right after PW. Within 6 months for sure.

We don't know how long these "events" will take in GZ. But I am betting it is fast. No radical expansion of MSF before we see it burn. It has to be within a month or two, by my guess.

I'm placing the "Phantom pain" segment somewhere between 1983 and 1988. Look up the MGS timeline. Some interesting things happen around then.

Here are my predictions:
-GZ takes place within 3 months of PeaceWalker
-Phantom Pain takes place between 1983-88
-Bandaged man is Grey Fox. A risky claim, but I am going there.
-Man on the horse is Ocelot. Nobody else would dare wear spurs, in MG lore
-Phantom Pain results in BigBoss' establishing of his stronghold in Africa
-This will leave off for a remake/ retelling of MG/MG3 for MSX.
-Zero will be addiliated to the primary opposing forces.

My only question is: Who is the burnt man? The Fury? This ones gonna take a while to figure out.

Also. People need to stop saying the Burnt guy ends up with the bandages. He was burnt 9 years before that guy wakes up with bandages. Pending unforeseen circumstances, two different people.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but I'm thinking that maybe David Hayter will still voice Snake during the GZ bit, but after the coma it'll switch to Richard Doyle or someone similar.

Phantom Pain will be for the ps3, but nothing was said if Metal Gear Solid 5 pt. 2 (Ground Zeros) will be.
