I'd prefer it if MS bought all of those companies.

This way, I would only need to buy ONE console with a whole load of (three times the) great games, like the good old days.

Then again, there could be some rogue MS dudes making their own thing.... woah, flashback time..

geesh, imagine if nintendo bought midway? good bye mk, gauntlet, and my other fav games.

What the fuck are you talking about? Last time I checked the two games you mentioned are on the Nintendo roster...

MS is the only one withj the resources and talant to improve mk far beyound anything.

MS has produced some REALLY shitty fighting games. All of the good ones are third party.

Lets hope the deal doesn't happen, it would be a tragedy.

yeah! years later you'll get Grabbed by the Ghoulies WITH BLOOD!

plus Midway would not drop Sony since PS2 brings in a MASSIVE amount of revenue...

Honestly I don't think that MS will buy midway. And even if they did I wouldn't be too woried, being a PS2 owner, because I doubt MS would trash the largest buying population of MK, of course I'm talking about us PS2 owners.

Now i learn that they are infact rumors and lies. I wish i would have learnt that several days ago when i was putting holes in my wall.

Though such news is quite exquisite!
To clear things up, here is the scoop from GameSpot.com:

RUMOR #1: Microsoft is planning to buy Midway Games.

Source: A sample analyst update from stock-recommendation site InvestorsObserver.com.

The official story: No comment.

What we heard: After this rumor spread like wildfire through the forums, we traced its origin back to a Thursday stock alert which jumbled together several analysts' recommentations. Underneath the all-caps heading "DYNAMIC MARKET OPPORTUNITIES" was a paragraph that talked about how Viacom chief Sumner Redstone recently bought 4.8 million shares of Midway stock for $16.5 million, bringing his ownership of he publisher to 28.4 percent. The next line read, "Now, the world's most famous chairman could be about to join in too." The report then reasons that since "the Microsoft chief badly needs more video games" to compete with the PlayStation 2's 67 percent US market share and that Midway Games' stock price has dropped 75 percent over the past 12 months, a takeover could--could--be in the air. Nowhere does it mention that the "Chairman"--who is referred to by the surname "Gates" once, and never as "Bill Gates"--has bought a single, solitary share of Midway stock. Nor does it offer evidence why Gates would buy a struggling third-party publisher with an aging catalog when Microsoft publishes and develops plenty of titles already? Then again, what's a few hundred million to a guy with $46,000,000,000 in the bank?

Bogus or not bogus?: Bogus.

You could have had some tact and waited to bump this when it reached a full 10 years. Yeesh, think a little!
