MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights. (Week 37)Week 37 finished with a powerplay as the Championship changed hands, delivered to a first-time winner in the weekly blitz! The League also welcomed a new player entering the game with a grudge match challenge!

The_Purple_Bunny's recent domination of former champion CaTigeReptile set the stage for an electric title clash with recent two-timer, Scott-Howell! MKO's Howelling Commando looked strong coming into the bout, but TPB's experiences in the arena have made him one of the IRK sleeping giants! He awoke last week with his +13 win over CTR and capped it off with a Championship claiming victory, comprehensive in a +4 smackdown.

First generation contender, jack4813, steps back into the Championship spotlight courtesy of a convincing win against Chryo_Spyder. The former #1 will get his shot next week, where a string of contenders will vie for the next rung. Making a compelling case will be SubMan799 and Genku -- winners in two high-profile three-way contests this week. kentei290 had some luck in the triple threat, keeping one toe in the pool that eluded him as an undefeated streak came to an end.

onimike's bombastic arrival in the League may have been interrupted by the likes of SK9608, but the exit of one streaker opens up the pot to another! VenoMark was confident in his debut match, taking Zmoke for a ride with equal impact to that of the week's title clash. It was a reversal of fortunes for challengers -- Sekktor remembered after his fatal encounter, last week. LordSkarlet fared a little better, even after soliciting a shock domination at the hands of JiminyCroquet.

24/7 exhibition contests were out-of-action this week, the IRC arena down with a case of technical difficulties. The NPCs and cheevs will be back as soon as possible.

October 31 is Halloween! The Arena will be overcome with beasts and ghouls as the creatures of the night have their day (and eve). The League will fend off these spirits with a ceremonial Battle Royale special, where twenty fighters will be drawn at random to compete for a shot at the KFL Championship! The Battle Royal is a special match where players are drawn to fight in an all-out war, eliminating until one fighter is left standing!

Players can challenge any registered opponent to a bout next Friday, with 1v1, 2v2 and 3-Way match types available to those so inclined. Challenges can be made by fighters new and old. Challenging the reigning KFL Champion will solicit a non-title battle, and delay defense for that week. MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 38)The_Purple_Bunny's dream run to the title may have taken him to the top of the ranks, but this League heavyweight would find himself rocketting toward his first title scare -- taken to the limit in battle with jack4813 during Week 38!

The scars of a thousand battles seemed to be catching up with TPB, the champ coming unglued in the latest in the KFL title blitz! The champ was well below his hard hitting best, making him totally vulnerable to an upset from former-champion, jack4813. Alas; the latest contender missed his opportunity, bottoming out by a narrow margin. The_Purple_Bunny lives to defend the title another day -- jack4813 no doubt looking forward to a similar future!

Chryo_Spyder made his most compelling argument for title contention, besting an in-form kentei290 in a convincing finish. Nephrite put his foot back in, taking a win from on-going rival, redman. Former champions clashed at the top of the table: TheNinjasRock071394 coming out on top over recent title holder, Scott-Howell.

VenoMark followed up his big first appearance with another win, taking out a significant opponent in SubMan799! Maridany found some overdue success at the cost of LordSkarlet. [Killswitch] further buried any hopes of an undefeated streak, taking out onimike for his second League loss.

The challenge period for Week 39 is now open!
24/7 exhibition contests were out-of-action this week, the IRC arena down with a case of technical difficulties. The NPCs and cheevs are now back online and ready for redemption. The arena holds Sekktor's best hope of a return after suffering fatality in an unlucky Week 36 challenge!

October 31 is Halloween! The Arena will be overcome with beasts and ghouls as the creatures of the night have their day (and eve). The League will fend off these spirits with a ceremonial Battle Royale special, where twenty-odd fighters will be drawn at random to compete for a shot at the KFL Championship! MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 39)An upstart challenge produced no surprises during Week 39's title bout, the latest in a blitz of weekly gold main events. Chryo_Spyder's rise to Championship contention was an exciting change of pace, but would become but a footnote in the reign of The_Purple_Bunny! The champ's heavyweight status stayed true as he dumped Chryo_Spyder via a comprehensive +8 win. As the list of dismissed challengers grows beyond a standard few, TPB's reign teases big things.

Former two-time champion, TheNinjasRock071394, had a shocking fade-out -- downed in a three-way battle by Nephrite, who struck with a maximum +30 impact! The stunning elimination wasn't enough to secure Nephrite the victory, perhaps a little exhausted when the momentum of Genku steamrolled to the finish. Genku's string of wins delivers him to the verge of title contention.

Genku will have a final box to tick when the winner of the October 31st Halloween Battle Royal takes the next FNF title shot. Twenty-plus competitors will be drawn to enter into an all-on-all elimination fray on the night of ghouls. The last man standing will have top honors, finding the balance between power and endurance!

Good fortune had an important role to play as relative newcomer to the league, VenoMark, survived the Halloween kombat apocalypse to earn a Championship shot!

The combination of skill, luck, endurance and pure statistics makes the Battle Royal an oft times unpredictable affair! VenoMark finished with an impressive five eliminations in the special all-in match, but owed a vital part of his victory to NovaStarr, who was responsible for seven of the twenty-four eliminations.

VenoMark will punch above his weight as he gets a shot at reigning KFL Champion - The_Purple_Bunny! The main event will take place during the first Friday Night Fights round for November! The end of the year is drawing near -- who will be the Champion of 2012?!

You can play in real time by logging on to the MKO chat, or by posting a challenge for Friday Night Fights in this thread. More info and instructions are on the Fight League page.

The system's been down the last couple of weeks, but should be getting back to normal now. Previous weeks' results'll be up soon enough. Cheers.

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 40; Nov. 2)In the wake of the twenty-five man Halloween Battle Royal, it was the task of a relative-newcomer to test the best in a rare Championship challenge! VenoMark may have had the momentum of a four match undefeated streak spurring him on in Week 40, but there would be little doubt that the first FNF of November would belong to the reigning Champion: The_Purple_Bunny!

A +6 impact underlined the comprehensive degree of the result - a defeat not limited to those who've recently joined the League! Other, more seasoned contenders have suffered a similar fate, leading TPB down a path that has him poised to become the most successful Champion crowned thus far. Standing in his way is the current holder of that accolade - CaTigeReptile - who returned to competition to crush the hopes of Genku right on the verge of his rise to the title level. CTR will defend her five match defense record when she contests her fourth title reign, next week!

Despite defying the odds with a +23 point exit from a losing three-way bout (last week); Nephrite was unable to defy the will of recent title contender - Chryo_Spyder. 4avenger5 was similarly too good for SubMan799, while kentei290 took out nightbreed_16 in a clash of the early season streakers.

On the back of an impressive seven eliminations during the Halloween Battle Royal, NovaStarr fought to a confident defeat over fellow final-four rumbler, SK9608! Her surprise rise in the all-in battle has her poised to claim one of the final title opportunities of 2012, but she'll have to back it up if she's to claim gold before the final scramble!

The revenant spirit of Sekktor did not make a repeat appearance, the Halloween Battle Royal entry a one-time deal. Sekktor perished at the hands of m0s3pH earlier in the year. The ticket to his resurrection lies in the realm of IRC! Players can boost their might and earn extra lives by hitting key gamerscore levels!

24/7 exhibition contests were out-of-action this week, the IRC arena down with a case of technical difficulties. The NPCs and cheevs are now back online and ready to go on a regular basis.

The challenge period for Week 41 is now also open!
It's the final countdown to the end of Season 2012! Grudges will need to be worked out before the end of the month! December will begin the final phase as the MKO KFL ranks fight their way from the bottom ranks all the way to the title! The final man standing come December 28 will be the Supreme Champion of 2012!

Players can challenge any registered opponent to a bout next Friday, with 1v1, 2v2 and 3-Way match types available to those so inclined. Challenges can be made by fighters new and old. MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 41; Nov. 9)The return of a three-time KFL Champion would muddy the waters as the title blitz threatened to usher in the reign of a new, record-setting champion. CaTigeReptile set the standard in her first reign, defending the title successfully five times before losing. The Olympic Silver Medalist would go on to hold the title two more times, reigning as the #1 ranked fighter throughout -- arguably the most successful competitor.

The_Purple_Bunny is a heavyweight competitor, but it took two attempts, and the months leading to October, to earn him a Championship held nine times prior. TPB knocked off Scott-Howell to claim the title, besting contenders old and new afterward to reach his fourth defense. TPB has been convincing throughout his reign, but all things come to an end -- and no challenger has been this dangerous.

Lengthy careers and old battlescars showed as two warhorses hit below their best. It was to be a knockdown, drag-out battle - survival of the fittest. It could have gone another way on another day, but The_Purple_Bunny would get his shot at history, claiming a fourth defense and the possibility of an equalling record in the next week. Genku's success in a three-way clash against former champions rekindles his hopes, bouncing back after they were dashed by CTR. He'll take his chance next week in a battle of the heavyweights!

24/7 exhibition contests were out-of-action this week, the IRC arena down with a case of technical difficulties.

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 42; Nov. 16)"The Great Genku" has enjoyed one of the most impressive win/loss percentages of anyone in the League, but the path to the Championship has been long and arduous for this combat heavyweight. On the verge of his big shot for so long, it took CaTigeReptile's failure in Week 41 to finally deliver Genku the shot he's been so close to, time and again.

Genku and The_Purple_Bunny know each other well. Having competed outside the KFL extensively throughout 2012, they are rivals in the truest sense. Equal in everything but Championship glory, Genku would pose the ultimate challenge for TPB as he seeks to equal the record for the most title defenses. Two destinys - one outcome.

Fate would once again be on the side of the Champion, taking the form of a guns blazing, all-out super-heavyweight clash! On any other day, against any other opponent, Genku would have certainly claimed victory - but The_Purple_Bunny could not be denied a slice of history! His fifth defense as KFL Champion equals the record set by CaTigeReptile in June!

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 43)The final week of standard competition promises an all-star clash! TheNinjasRock071394 walks out of Week 43 the victory in a contender clash of former-Champions! He and Ninja_Mime represent two of the greats yet to face The_Purple_Bunny in his record-equalling title run. If TPB can end November with a win, he will become the most successful Champion in League history, achieving an unprecedent six consecutive title defenses!

It was a convincing win for 071394 in the main event of a super-sized, post-Thanksgiving Friday Night Fights! VenoMark kept his impressive percentage going with a well earned victory, while recent rival NovaStarr fended off Chryo_Spyder in a solid result. Genku couldn't win the big one, but picked up some payback in a grudge bout rematch with CaTigeReptile!

LordSkarlet's training regiment paid dividends in a convincing +2 victory, but JiminyCroquet was the big winner of the week, executing a comprehensive +6 pounding against onimike! Week 44 will offer the last chance to break into the upper ranks as the League transforms into the ultimate challenge tower in December!

Mick you have a mistake in that post.

Where it says:

"If TPB can end November with a win"

It should say:

"When the greatest KFL champion ever TPB ends November with a win"

Thx in advance for correcting.

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 44)They came, they fought, they conquered. In the final week of standard format Friday Night Fights, competitors in the league made their final play for their best possible 2012 ranking. December will be a challenge tower quest to crown the final Internet Relay Kombat Supreme Champion for 2012!

The man to beat at the top of the tower will be The_Purple_Bunny -- the reigning KFL Champion! By defeating TheNinjasRock071394 in a blockbuster Week 44 main event, he officially becomes the most successful champion the league has seen. With six title defenses, he bests the #1 ranked fighter, CaTigeReptile. CTR will be TPB's most imminent threat, providing she can defeat her first opponent in Week 48.

subzero776 will have the greatest challenge in the December elimination. Appearing in his first battle in Week 44, he is both the least seasoned competitor, and the lowest ranked. A narrow defeat at the hands of onimike will position Maridany in the next lowest rank, making him subzero776's first opponent during Week 45.

Competitors in the bottom rank will progress fight to fight, with the winner advancing to compete against the next highest rank. The four Fridays of December will tell of the final battles of 2012! There will be no challenges, no new sign-ups! Only the battle hardened forty-two will fight - until there is only one!

Friday Night Fights Week 45 Schedule:
1. subzero776 versus Maridany
2. [Winner 1] versus irulegames1234
3. [Winner 2] versus rick991
4. [Winner 3] versus tghuhyg19
5. [Winner 4] versus JiminyCroquet
6. [Winner 5] versus Asesino
7. [Winner 6] versus LordSkarlet
8. [Winner 7] versus Jerrod
9. [Winner 8] versus dibula
10. [Winner 9] versus [Killswitch]
11. [Winner 10] versus NovaStarr

It's the final countdown to the end of Season 2012! Grudges will need to be worked out before the end of the month! December will begin the final phase as the MKO KFL ranks fight their way from the bottom ranks all the way to the title! The final man standing come December 28 will be the Supreme Champion of 2012!

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 45)Armageddon Month begins!
A snapshot of the league at the end of November provides the way forward as the competitive ranks fight their way from top to bottom! In the first week of the final countdown, two names stood out from the pack: Maridany and JiminyCroquet!

For JiminyCroquet it was the realization of potential that belied a nightmare year. Mortal injury removed him from the battle for a time, but above else it was a lingering lack of success at crucial moments that kept him relegated well below his heavyweight status. Maridany too spent his share of time in the doldrums, but came out fighting at the right time of the year. A four match win streak redeems Maridany -- but will he continue this success into the 2013 Season, or simply fadeaway?

NovaStarr secured the final victory of Armageddon Week 1, defeating Killswitch with a authorative +6 result! She progresses to Week 2, where the next stack of rogues will pose an even greater challenge!

Friday Night Fights Week 46 Schedule:
1. NovaStarr versus onimike
2. [Winner 1] versus TonyTheTiger
3. [Winner 2] versus VenoMark
4. [Winner 3] versus JUST_A_TARKATAN
5. [Winner 4] versus Unknown265
6. [Winner 5] versus Zentile
7. [Winner 6] versus hydraslash
8. [Winner 7] versus Ghostdragon
9. [Winner 8] versus DarknessDragon

[14:01:09] VenoMark... Your angel of Death awaits...
[14:01:09] Sinvida Von Grimm has slain VenoMark in battle! Fatality!
[14:01:09] Death: [+28p] VenoMark: [-1up]

Shades of the Olympics as a man goes down ahead of the big fight.

MKO Internet Relay Kombat: Friday Night Fights (Week 46)Where the first week of Armageddon Month belonged to two names -- only one was destined to dominate the Friday Night Fights of Week 46!

TonyTheTiger's presence had been bold, but rare, throughout season 2012. His win/loss record had been convincing, but the impact of his wins provided little warning for the ferocious attack launched upon the hopeful ranks of the KFL! TTT's claws claimed a staggering eight victims -- producing a nine match streak as a result of VenoMark's mortal injuries, which forced him out of competition and granted TonyTheTiger a win by default.

TonyTheTiger marches on to the third tier of the Armageddon pyramid with a +57 boost and an unfathomable wave of momentum! As the fighters of 2012 are eliminated, the competition only becomes more intense! TTT may be a heavyweight predator on the prowl, but on December 21st he'll face an even more powerful crop of KFL competitors!

Friday Night Fights Week 47 Schedule:
1. TonyTheTiger versus Zmoke
2. [Winner 1] versus Methuselah6463
3. [Winner 2] versus Baraka_MK
4. [Winner 3] versus kentei290
5. [Winner 4] versus Jironobou
6. [Winner 5] versus DeathScepter
7. [Winner 6] versus nightbreed_16
8. [Winner 7] versus m0s3pH
9. [Winner 8] versus Chryo_Spyder
10. [Winner 9] versus 4avenger5
