I still think pittsburgh will win even with big ben not playing. I am shocked though pittsburgh will need him healthy for the rest of the season. All cheers to a great nfl season and sundays won't be boring anymore.

I'm going to allow Cogline's picks because he got them in before the first game ended. Didn't matter that he picked Miami because I wouldn't have given him the point either way... because the first game was already well underway.

I will do this for all the games i watch i'll break down and give my players of the games goods and bads.
Miami vs pittsburgh
Player of the game Charlie Batch QB Pitt. Very efficent did what he had to do 3 td passes. Didn't flinch at one point in this game
The good
1. Culpepper. Miami in quarters 1-3. He did very well he picked up the pittsburgh blitz. Was a very efficent passer during this time.
2. Wes Welkin or w/e how u spell his name. KR/WR Miami. Very impressed with his kick return skills and he played well at wr found the hole and made some nice plays.
3. The Pittsburgh defesive unit- They held miami to under 50 yards rushing. Had 2 ints in the 4th one return to the touchdown. Great adjust ment in the 4th quarter discisging their blitz.
4. Charlie Batch,Willie Parker and Health Miller- Fast willie showed he can run between the tackles over 100 yards on 26 carries. Batch did what he needed to do threw 3 tds. MIller Over 100 yards wr and a td though that shouldn't been a td,

The bad
1. Miami Defence. You could see throughout the game they never really establisted themsleves. They looked alittle confused in what pittsburgh was running. I thought with batch in they blitz alittle more kind of disapointed
2. Ronnie Brown Mia- 15 carries for 30 yards. Granted he got the 2 tds but if your going to be a #1 back you have to get atleast 4 yards a carry. Some of it can be accreated to the steelers defence but still.
3. Culpepper 4th quarter and Chris Chambers- Very dissapointed once they got down with the td that shouldn't have been to health miller i think once that happen this whole team fell apart. Culpepper threw 2 costly interceptions in the 4th. Chambers dropped a few touchdown throws and he was non existant in the offence.
4. Miami Coaching staff- I was very disapointed in nick sabens crew. They made no adjustments at half time. They gave up on the run to early. In the 4th when pittsburgh was mixing up coverage miami coach staff made the same plays that resulted in the int. And sabin taking forever to challenge that call on health millers td.

Final thought- Pittsburgh looks better then last year. Miami has to get use to pressure they failed their first test and in the 4th they just broke down. I think culpepper didn't fell confortable in that offence yet it will take time but in a few weeks you'll see culpepper play alot better.

Next time that ESPN ancher job opens up, you go apply for the job cause you sound like you belong there.

Anyway, sad cause the steelers won. Good thing is I don't like Miami neither, although they have a few of the lions players from last season.

Ehh Time for my break down of the 3 games i watch. first will be philly vs texans in which philly won 24-10 second is jax vs dallas in which jax won 24-17 and lastly giants colts where colts won 26-21 :( very sad killer here.

Philly vs Huston
MVP of the game- Close but i will choose mcnabb who tore apart the huston secondary. mcnabb 314 passing and 3 tds.

The good

1. Hustons future- Though they lost the game i saw a different huston texan team. The oline played better though still gave up alot of sacks. I think demco ryans and mario williams will be a solid contributor for there defence for a long time. I can see this team steadly improving thoughout the year and they played 3 quarters well vs the eagles. Just a few big plays
2. Well so i don't take up alot off room the Eagles whole team- I know its the texans but they looked really solid on both sides good running and passing and besides the first huston possession got pressure on defence. Stallworth just might be the #1 philly needed he had a monster game and westbrook proved me wrong by having a great game rushing and receiving.

The bad

1. Wali Lundy- Didn't replace the back domieck davis who was a constant in this offence less then 2 yards a carry not good.
2. Hustons Oline and Dline- Besides the first possession philly dominated the line of scrimage on both sides of the ball Mario williams was a non factor and Gary Kuberack new revamped oline didn't preform well. Though it was an improvement.

Final thought- Philly looked great today back into those NFC championchip years right now i think they are better then dallas and washington in the division ain't sold there better then ny yet but the preseason and in this game they played well. Stallworth is a huge edition to this offence and this is a team that should be feared. Huston will suffer though another bad season but expect this team to be competetive and improve through out the year.

Dallas vs Jax

MVP- Its hard because the whole jax team played very well but i will give it to Rasheed Mathis CB for Jax he made the key int in the 2nd quarter to bring jax back in the game. A few misques and he played well vs to and he made key tackles throughout the game.

The good

Jaxsonville offence- They didn't flinched when leftwhich threw the int and was down 10-0 they scored 24 unanswered points and they spread the wealth. 6 wrs had 3 or more catches 3 of them had 5 or more. Leftwhich with the 2nd td 3rd and goal on the 3 ran a qb draw great call. Taylor had a solid rushing day and a td.

Jaxsonville Secondary- Besides the 2 big plays in the 4th they played exteremly well. They picked bledsoe off 3 times and tooked to and glenn out of the game from the 3rd drive to the middle of the 4th quarter.

The bad

1. Drew Bedsoe- Really poor desision making. 3 really bad picks balls he shouldn't have thrown. Jax front four dominated the oline. They rarely blitzed. If this continues througout the season Dallas won't make the playoffs.

2. Dallas Oline- Again when a team can put pressure on the qb with their front four your not playing well.

3. Dallas Defence from 2nd quarter on- This was suppose to be the best defence in the NFC east and they looked horrible. Leftwhich was rarly pressured and he had a nice pocket to throw in. Secondary let the wrs body them all day and get physical.

Final thought- If dallas oline which was the main problem in this game can't protect bledsoe they will lose 4 games in the NFC east alone and might finish 8-8. It won't matter how good TO, Glenn, Whitten and Bledsoe are if hte oline doesn't protect teams can rush 4 and put 7 in coverage and still be sucessful. Dallas defence must defend hte pass alot better if they want to compete also. Jaxsonville Played well this team didn't flinch under pressure one bit. They took dallas best punch early and fought back with a harder punch. jack del rio really put his pesonally in this team and with tyce as off corninated you'll see alot of spread offence in jax. Really impressive can compete with indy for the division title.

Giants Colts

MVP- Payton manning was head and shoulders looked like the best qb in the nfl. Some of the throws and even in face of the pressure and yes alot of it the giants gave him he made play after play. A td pass and lead an offence that couldn't run the ball to a win.

The good and theres alot of it.

The colts passing game- I don't think the protection was well payton was forced out of the pcoket alot but payton harrision wayne and the tes stayed in their patterns and manning found them.

The giants front 7- I think they got plenty of pressure on manning couldn't finish but they forced him out of the pocket alot and had situations where normal qbs would have been sacked or thrown incompletions but as we know payton manning isn't a normal qb. Even the Dts which was the main weakness on this defence played exteremly well against one of the best pass blocking teams in the nfl. Colfield and Robbies looked well and joseph played well off the bench. Line backers played well in bliting but coverage was avg.

The giants offence- They picked apart the colts defence and they were a miss feild goal a bad ref called and a fialed 4th down conversion from winning this game. Manning spread the ball well tiki and jacobs ran all over the undersized colts defence. Plex made 2 great catches and shockey came alive in the second half.

The bad
1. The giants secondary and 3rd down defence and jay feely- Really really i mean extermely dissapointed. They didn't have to be great just avg and play their coverage and they couldn't do the wrs found the holes in the zone defence and pick apart it. They droped 2 ints. Periece also dropped one. Thrid down defence espically 3rd and long was simply pathetic payton picked pocketed our prevent defence. Jay feely if he made that kick the game would have been coached alot differently definally a big miss.
2. The colts rushing attack- Both addai and rhoads couldn't get yards to save their lifes and the colts oline couldn't run block thats all i have to say.
3. The colts defence- Again the giants pick apart this defence and they should have alot more then 21 points they were fortune that the giants shot themsleves in the foot again and the refs gave them a few calls.
4. Giants defensive coaching staff (tim lewis in particular)- for not being brave enough to go into man coverage and send some linebackers and madision/webster on blitzes. I really expected some exortic blitz packages but all i saw was 4 man rush wiht zone behind it and manning picked it apart.
5. Giant penatlys- It looks like our pentaly problems haven't gone away giants shot themsleves in the foot with multiple pentalies.
6.Refs at the end of the game- The last 2 possessions the refs blew this great game. There wasn't an illegal snap on the last play that cost the giants 10 seconds and on the possesion before that tim carter did not clearly push off the colt corner he slipped that pushed the giants back 15 yards and next play eli was intercepted because he was forced to pass.

Final thought- both teams played well this game was like the seattle game last year where the giants dominated in yards and had the defence figured out but they shot themsleves in the foot. Atleast it happend this early i think coliglin will have this team playing better and not having so many pentalies for next week. I expect the giants to bounce back and edge out hte eagles next week in philly. The colts showed they can rely on the pass. But still if they can't run they can't win all their games like that. I expect the colts to work on the running game all year and it should improve in the comming weeks. I can't say anything else about both mannings except sepecular both seem on top of their games. Eli looked like his mechanics are better and payton was just peyton. The giants will have the next 3 weeks to work out their defence but i don't want to see them in the zone cov because sit doesn't work with their strengths and their speed in the front 7. I fully expect the giants and colts to have 10 or more wins and make serious runs at the superbowl this year.

Great sunday over all tomorrow night is monday night football.

I am so pissed off right now man, if that was any other team we played last night, if peyton manning wasnt on the colts, they would have never NEVER called that pass interference penalty. Tim Carter never even touched nick harper. It was a great game, but they fucked the giants there, and with the illegel snap penalty.

We had our oppertunities, with the 4th and 5, we should've kicked the field goal, and feely missing, thats a touchdown worth of points right there, b.s. game though man, im extremely devastated.

\hell yeah son i kept lookin down at the ticker and saw 6-3 lions all game i was like you got to be kidding me. But maybe the lions are different this year, mccown and kitna are big stepups from harrington and garcia. But maybe the madden curse is coming true wink.

Lj and shaun dont even get 100, there goes lj being god.

EDIT:I know we have 2 games tonight (cant wait!!) but after the majority of games played i would have to say the 3 best teams in the nfl are...
1.Ravens
2.Falcons
3.Jacksonville I owuld say the bears but they played green bay so its not that big of a deal. But if that offense plays like this all season wow
