Are you referring to the "less concussion friendly" style of wrestling, or a change in the overall tone of the product?

If it was the latter, I'm pretty sure the WWE was already heading towards the "pg era" around the time he died anyway.

They can't do head shots with any weapons because of that whole incident. It water downs extreme matches.

Obviously the excesses of the extreme wrestling are not in themselves enough.

We can do fine with safe wrestling, there are a shitload of moves that when properly executed look dangerous but are not. Remember, this is not Rome, we do not want our violence to be actual violencefor just itself.

This is theatre. And there is the problem. As goofy as the attitude era, or the Monday Wars were writing-wise, there was dynamism. Now it is SuperCena and basically the titles lost their importance.

I mean really. You had Lesnar destroy SuperCena in the ring, you could haveeven done the Rocky story with Cena because Lesnar actually looked (and actually is wayy more) legit as a threat.

But noooo, you reinstate the status quo immediately. I am sorry, but Cena should have been sidelined more. Hell, at least breaking the Streak was something that people cared about.

They cannot write for shit, they do not want to write anything outside the safe zone.

It's going to collapse. MMA is going to pick up on some traces of personality driven shows perhaps, or the whole WWF will become moreprofessional like in the old days where legit fighting was concerned. Lesnar, MMA. Goldberg MMA, CM Punk, MMA....

Btw, inducting Undertaker intothe Hall of Fame is mandatory. Mark is on par with Shawn Michaels and Killer Kowalski when itcomes to talent and sacrifice for the job.

You realize it was all those shots to the head that ultimately led to the whole Chris Benoit situation...right?

Safe wrestling is not to blame for the decline of quality in the product. You can blame that on nonsensical writing and the obscene lack of commitment to building new stars.

I wouldn't say that was the main reason for that tragedy. You can shield a chair with your hands. Benoit had more going on there then just brain damage. He had drug problems and it got worse when all his friends started dying. You can safely cover a weapon shot. I bet it is hard for creative to write stories with a PG rating because of the limits that are set. That's why wwe is dying. It went the name way with the New Generation era.

Eh, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't care how much of it catches your hand, a chair shot to the head still rattles the hell out of your brain.

And if "creative" is that hindered by a p.g. rating, then its time for Vince to clean house and bring in some fresh minds. P.G. rating does not, and should not, mean the death of captivating storylines.

Back at ya.

And yeah, if they manage to fuck up a Wyatt/Ambrose program, then it's time to riot.

Eh, so far its just Wyatt telling Ambrose that he reminds him of himself, and that he intends to break him down mentally. Pretty vague at the moment.

Forget about the PG rating. That's a bigger part of the problem.

Bray Wyatt was a character who lost a lot of momentum earlier in the year because of waiting. Nebulous 'you remind me of munch munch munch' was fun while it was new, but the character lacks a sense of motivation or end game. Having him invade HIAC and doing nothing to follow up... Probably not going to solve much.

PG rating takes the sting out of some of your bigger moments, particularly when it carries over to PPV, but you can work with that just fine. The contrast between then and now is intensity. The ring style has lost a lot of intensity, and the programming is even worse. Their focus is usually only a couple of A storylines and one or two B feuds. The rest is left to flounder, and that's a big problem.

You're always going to have spaced out tent poles to build to, but the time in between, and the players that don't factor heavily into those major events, need to be more important between. Everyone needs a motivation and an objective. You can do that with a PG rating, just fine.

Bray Wyatt plateaued because he didn't have that. They should be attacking to not just recover, but elevate. Give these guys strong motivations, strong feuds, license to work harder in the ring, and opportunity to build legacy. To be balls in the air for the greater good, as well.

Hey, alright. Relax, buddy. Sheesh. Don't get hot!

I'm not sold on the guy they chose, but the thrust of Rusev has been sound.
Sheamus has, sadly, not been used to any great effect as US Champion. Rusev's end game always needed to be the US Champion. I might've liked to see that moment come at Survivor Series, but with the network in need of importance, this was a smooth move. The marks are going to see that the WWE Network can have important coverage. The Rusev plot advances. Win, win.

I might like to see Sheamus at least get a rematch at Survivor Series. I think it's a mistake to burn that off too quickly. I also think it's a mistake to not use the title as a fixture - especially without the top strap on PPV. So folding them into the team match would be a mistake. Enough people wouldn't have seen the title match. Sell the rematch hard on TV (the way they did quite well on RAW this week), and take advantage of it. Transition Sheamus into a better role (he could be contributing to higher stakes), and now enter the phase of Rusev's defenses. Line up the geeks until there's a solid case to knock him off.

Rusev as US Champion is a good thing.

- Former World Champion & Main Roster Star Moved to WWE Alumni Section

The Great Khali is no longer featured on WWE.com’s list of active roster members, and his profile can be found in the WWE Alumni section. The 7-foot giant did not accompany the roster on the recent European tour after being at almost every WWE Live event in September and October, and has only made a handful of appearances on television in 2014.

While the company has not made an official announcement, this would seem to indicate that WWE has come to terms on the release of the Great Khali.

Probably for the best...

It shows. The Khali has barely any grappling skill and frankly, I doubt his proportions and height lend him well to any kind of proper wrestling. And he also has no charisma. Polar opposite of Big Show, but he got his acromegaly handled early on. And is a better actor of sorts.

I am frankly more concerned about the lack of forseeable future. WWE is loosing ratings fast to MMA and other stuff overall. How long is it before the whole soap-opera showimplodes out of lack of interest?

Who's at least following Survivor Series? Got tips?

- Team Cena (Cena, Ryback survivors. Ryback turns?)
- Bray Wyatt
- The Miz & Mizdow (Tag Team Champions)
- Team Natalya
- AJ Lee (Divas Champion)
- TBA beats "New & Improved" Fandango
- Sting does little of note
