I defintly agree. Most of them are just rip-offs of SF2 characters (remy=guile, hugo=zangiph. They dodn't fit one bit. I do think the boss character Gill is pretty cool, though, albet cheap as hell. I rember the first few times I played him, I thought I had him beat at one point then he does his Revival Super which pissed me the hell off.

I'm a big fan of the Street Fighter II games. My friend and I still play SFII Turbo every now and then. But that's it...Alpha and Third Strike just didn't feel the same to me...Alpha 3 is OK though.
Favorite Characters are Dhalsim, Balrog, Zangief, Guile and Ken.

I love Street Fighter. I wrote some reviews for Street Fighter Legends, an excellent Street Fighter website
http://www.chikapu.com/streetfighterlegends/
I'm not a big fan of the Street Fighter II animated movie (But I loved both Alpha flicks and the tv show), but recently I got to see the japanese version. And god it is even more awful than the american version. The soundtrack is absolutely horrid.
Anyways, GUY FOREVER!

What are Street Fighter "concepts" for characters? SF3 is less of a stretch from SF2 than SF2 was from SF1.
SF2, if anything, was the game in the series that introduced the "weird" characters (like Blanka and Dhalsim). SF3 just expanded on the idea.
I actually prefer the balance that SF3 has in terms of the more obscure characters and traditional characters.

I wish it was heading to Xbox as well. At least I know they'd include online play, which, for whatever reason, tends to be removed when previously online-enabled 2D fighters come to the PS2 here in the US. It's why I waited for XB versions of SF Anniversary, Capcom Fighting Evolution, and many of the SNK fighters.

Yeah same here, wasnt Street Fighter Anniversary announced only for PS2 at first and later it was said that it was going to be available for xbox? Eh, Im just hoping something like that happens with the Alpha Anthology game.

I thought this might be some interewsting info for Street Fighter fans who like the action figures. Apprently Sota Toys will be releaseing an exclusive Master Gouken figure at the San Diego Comic Con. There will be 2 differnt versions. One with a battle cry head being offered at the Sota Toys booth, and another normal version being sold at the ToyRocket.com booth. Both are limited to 2,000.
Here an image of both of them:

Appernently there are other exlusives I didn't even know about like a Ryu, and Segan double pack, with Sagat with a bloody scar from his fight with Ryu.

I know I read in gameinformer not too long ago about SF2 on xbox live. I think its on the live arcade or something like that. Will someone please tell me how I can get a copy? I have always been a huge fan of SF. I won several tournament in Hawaii and I wouldn't mind owning people online.
You have to own a hard drive-enabled Xbox 360 and have Xbox Live.
SF2 Hyper fighting (I believe that's the version they're releasing) will be available for download off Xbox Live Arcade. You essentially purchase the game online through the XB Live Marketplace and download the game onto your XB360 hard drive.
This version of SF2 will have online play over XB Live.

I always liked the series, but I never bought a single game. Instead I idiotically rented the Street fighter games at least 10 times, I'm betting buying it would have been cheaper.
My favorite character being Dhalsim, awesome mediation look and awesome moves.

Ingrid, Makoto and Elena
I like the other characters too such as Chun Li, Cammy and Rose but nothing can beat my top three angels.
I sure hope Ingrid makes more appearences in the future Street Fighter games. She has lots of potential and so adorable! Shes one of my angels in the Street Fighters series.
For those who dont know, Ingrid was originally from Capcom Fighting All Stars but that game got cancelled. However... they made her in Capcom Fighting Evolution, which its awesome since i always wanted to play her when i first saw All Stars. Then out of nowhere, she was moved to the Street Fighter family in Street Fighter Alpha 3: Max. She might be a new SF character since there is one art she is the main focus *me hoping*

im a huge street fighter fan. akuma, twelve, and dhalsim are my favorites. i dont know why most of you dont like alpha 3, the game is more colorful and less stereotypical than the last one. i dare you to name one game where a brittish black man can beat up a one-armed hobo. also, one of you said that hugo was a copy of zangief? not true, he's a final fight charecter, who, along with guy, cody, and rolento, was transferred to some of the sf games.
Been playing Street Fighter casually and competitively since before I can remember..After all these years though I hate to admit it..I'm a shotoscrub. Just can't bring myself away from using Akuma he's so well balanced. If Akuma isn't available I'll just use Ryu.

Check this out. It's pretty interesting.
Case: Capcom v. Data East (N.D. Cal. 1994) [C]
I wonder why SNK didn't get a similar lawsuit??
And then 7 on 5 isn't any fair either
Some new action figures from Empire Toys
You can go here

That site does indeed own Zentile, thanks for that.
Apart from Burnout Legends without a doubt Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max is my favorite PSP game. Great to take a break from 3D fighters.
Can someone tell me what happens in Alpha 1 and 2? Lots of background stories? From the 3rd game I can only see that it sets off the events in Street Fighter 2, so I've not a clue about 1 and 2 since I've never played.
Another question I have is where Street Fighter 3 was released because I didn't know about it's existance until looking on Wikipedia.
It looks a bit strange with so many characters missing, even after Akuma and Chun-Li were put in.
This Gill guy sounds like an ultimate cheese fest with a resurrection technique and a full screen super that beats even the Psycho Crusher.
One day if a 4th game is made I hope they just set up Akuma as the final boss with Oro taking the secret boss position.
Preferbly Shin and double handed forms. Those would be the ultimate tests for Ryu and the series can then end on Ryu becoming a true master, with Ken a close second. Actually I don't know about that, I don't think Ken will be able to keep up and have the strength to beat Akuma and Oro.
