My cousin/ex-roommate have had a running joke about being pirates for a couple years now. What's more when we had our court date (stealing BBQs)the persecutor's called us pirates too"...safe neighborhood...blah blah...and then 2 pirates come along and take our property...".
Everyone in the courtroom was making food jokes too ,"Half-baked idea" ,"Maybey they were hungry"
But our "Recent" Ninja stuff comes from ICP. Plus I collect Katanas. Sorry if I got off-topic ^_^

I'd definitely be a Ninja. There is a LOT of misconception about Ninjas. Like the Samurai, the Ninja have their own code of honor.

Their philosophy is Shugendo and it can range from things such as Buddhism, Daoism, Confucianism, Shinto, Shamanism, combinations of sorts, etc. It's a very open philosophy and they believed that pretty much all religions promote bettering one's self. The Samurai may have their Jujitsu, but the Ninja have Ninjitsu. However, I think that the modern Ninjitsu systems are not as much of true Ninjitsu as the ancient Ninjitsu though they are great combat systems nonetheless.

Some Samurai and Ronin did become Ninja while some other Samurai and Ronin simply used Ninja tactics and such.

subby is right about that part of the Ninja.

Well the Ninjutsu of today is very good. Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu of the Bunjikan Budo Tajutsu is one of the surviving forms of Ninjutsu. That Fighting Style in and of itself is quite deadly.

Frank Dux and Ashida Kim are known Frauds of the Ninjutsu world. They promote the Koga Ryu Ninjitsu. From my personal research into Japanese Kanji(a pictogram writing), What I have found simple stuff if you replace the U in jutsu with a I that would change the Kanji slightly because Jitsu and Jutsu have different meanings. So far they ( Frank Dux and other popluar Koga Ninja teachers) has no proof that they had any Koga Ninjutsu training whatsoever. They do have stories that say that they were trained by mysterious Koga Ninja Masters. Well Anyone born in the last Two hundred years has some form of ID. They dont have any ID of their so called Masters. Although Koga Ninjuts has 53 families Ryu, from I understand Those Koga Ryu Ninjutsu schools are either taught in secret by the older Koga Masters or died out with Fujita. Which he is the last known True Koga Master to lived in the 20th century. Well His grandfather ,whom he was a student, did taught Fujita very well as a martial arts standpoint. Fujita from my point of view is a Koga master and a researcher of the Koga Ninjutsu. So far there are no other proven Koga Masters to carry on their Martial arts Heritage into the Public.

Fujita and his top students died in 1960's in a car crash. From what I understand about Koga Ninjutsu that it died with Fujita and his grandfather.

Grandmaster Hatsumi the current soke of Bunjikan Budo Taijutsu is the last True Ninja Master in its purest sense. He is the personal grandmaster of the Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu also he is the master of the other 8 ryus in the Bunjikan Budo Taijutsu currilum. Genjukan and other assicoate Ninjutsu originations do share the same information about those 9 ryus of the Bunjikan. Bunjikan and other related martial arts org. are very good learning systems to understand the art and the way of the Ninja Warrior.

Ninpo is the phisosphy of Ninjutsu and it is commonly used to in the Name of the school like Togakure ryu Ninpo.

Ninpo is often shared with the Shugendo praticitors to better understand themselves thoughtout the martial arts.

Ninpo is very much in common with Bushido because Ninpo teaches the Ninja patience and persaves to overcome trails. Ninpo does honor family community and clan within its phisosphy. Unlike Bushido, Ninpo will allow its students to use dirtier tricks like stealth and disguises.

Samurai with their Bushido code of honor cant use dishonorables means to finish their goals but they are quite ruthless in coming to how they achieving their goals. They are known to hire Ninjas to do what they cant legally do like spying on a rival warlord or to steal info for them.
Samurai are known to use scare tactics on peasants but not all Samurais are evil. Some of them are quite nice and well manner people.

There are three way to become a Samurai in the feudal Japan. 1. To be a son of a Samurai.
2. Join the Army to move up in the Ranks.
3. To be a nobleman

The Samurai lifestyle can be quite fruitful if you are good at it.

TO the victorious Samurais, Land is a popular form of payment. Some Samurai can be complete motherfuckers and others can be quite loving and heroic.

The answers to the Samurais that were complete assholes The Ninja came into being. Most Ninja families are very much close to nature and some of them live in the Mountains which Shugendo was quite popular.

The Miliant nature of the Japaness during the feudal time has made it quite diffcult for the peasants to move up in life.

Buddism and Confisfism did come from China but they did come to Japan which it became very popular with the people. Buddism was more of the Samurai warriors favorite religon while Religons like Taoisms and Shugendo were popular with the Ninjas.

Ninjas are not perfect either. With some Ninja clans can be quite amoral and others have very strict moral code within their code of Honor.

Samurais are not to be underestimiate for their fighting prowess is great.

The Arts of the Samurais has influences Ninjutsu over the years. So has the arts of the Ninja has influence the Samurai. Much of their military knowledge comes from China.

One Hundred Samurai band is worth about 200-400 chinses soliders.

The Samurai are quite knowledge and well trained in what they do best. That is to fight.

Sun Tzu is the author of the Art of War. It has many stagtems and ways of a warriors to think creatively in times of need. Ninjas as well as the Samurai read that book many times over so they can incorpate Sun Tzu's military teaching into their own.

Shaolin Monks brought their martial arts as well as their phiosophy. Ninjutsu did incorpate alot of Shaolin Phiosophy into their Ninjutsu training.

To be a Feudal Japan Ninja, Most of those Ninjas are either childen of Ninjas or Samurais themselves. A few times a capablable Martial artist can gain entrance into a Ninja clan but it can be very diffcult for a outsider to be a Fedual Japan Ninja.

Grandmaster Hatsumi has brought Ninjutsu to the world Those his Bunjikan group. In which many of the great Japanses Martial arts masters are apart of. Several of Hatsumi personal students have started their own groups like Genjukan and Jinkan.

Stephan Hayes do train with Hatsumi at least one a year so he can honed his Toshindo system. To Shin do is the system of Ninjutsu that Stephen Hayes based off Bunjikan Teachings. http://www.daytonquest.com is Stephen Hayes site.

BUSHINDO ,not bushido, is another system of Ninjutsu created by Master Richard Van Donk. His website is at http://www.ninjutsu.com.

I would suggest all of you guys to learn more about Ninjutsu from those sites.

Btw A ninja wannabe is a Ninjer. A true modern Ninja will follow the teachings of the Grandmaster Hatsumi to the best that he can do.

My personal term Ninja Adept and that is a martial artist who follow and understand The phiosophy of Ninpo from Grandmaster Hastumi.

Personally I am more of a Ninja Adept because I am a martial artist and I do enjoy the Ninja lifestyle and Ninpo itself. Right now I am too broke to go into a Ninjutsu school but not one of those Ninjer School which teaches BS.

To me Martial arts is a major part of Life and So is Ninjutsu.

Stephen Hayes and Richard Van Donk are reliable Source of info in Ninjutsu training.

Ninja, Please

Scene 1:

Ninjas walk down street to go eat some food. Ninjas are all wearing black and looking totally sweet. There is some awesome music playing in the background to get the audience really pumped. Then some dude jumps out of nowhere. The ninjas start beating this guy's ass bad. Then the dude starts trying to run away, but one ninja pulls out a ninja star (ninja weapon) and throws it at the dude. The ninja star cuts the guy's head totally off. The head rolls over near this old dog that looks at the head and barfs all over the place, including the camera, which is awesome. The ninjas start flying and everybody starts screaming. Then the scene ends.

Scene 2:

A ninja is sleeping at his house. Some idiot walks by singing a super annoying song. Then the ninja wakes up super pissed and ready to rock. The guy just keeps walking and singing, while the ninja starts cutting down a building. When the guy walks by the building, it falls on him. (When the building is falling, a guitar will be wailing hard in the background.) There will be a close up of the dude's feet sticking out from under the building. The feet explode all over the place, because of blood pressure. Then we see that the ninja was playing the guitar. Then all these babes start coming out of nowhere and the ninja starts wailing ever harder (if that's even possible). Then the camera starts fading out and then explodes.

END

-I thought of this script right before bedtime. I got so pumped I almost kicked my mom right in the face!

Interesting post DeathScepter. I do notice some Daoist things with Ninjas. For example, in Daoism, there is the concept of Wuji, or Void (nothingness) and Void is one of the Ninja elements. Another thing I notice is that Ninjas have a respect for nature and that's also very very similar to that of Daoist beliefs. If I'm not mistaken, most of the early Samurai and Ninja were followers of Shinto.

I think that the earliest Ninjitsu/Ninjutsu styles are pretty much extinct. I think the Bujinkan Ninjutsu stuff is pretty cool though I don't think it's quite the most authentic Ninjutsu system due to the fact that only 3 of the 9 schools are Ninjutsu styles while the other 6 schools are more of Samurai Jujitsu styles.

If I'm not mistaken, Ninjitsu uses a lot of kicking, pressure point, and grappling moves. I'm pretty sure that the more ancient Ninjitsu techniques pretty much came from China, perhaps Northern China since Northern Chinese Kung Fu styles generally use a lot of kicks and the moves are long ranged and such. The grappling moves may have come from either Shuai Chiao or Jujitsu. And the pressure point techniques most likely came from Dim Mak but this is only speculation.

I'm not surprised that the Shaolin had influences because if I'm not mistaken, some of the Buddhist and Samurai schools did use Ninjitsu techniques.

But uh..anyway, like I said before, I'd definitely be a Ninja. glasses

Well TogaKure Ryu Ninjutsu is oldest suriving Ninjutsu. Also it is quite ruthless of a martial arts. Because its student were known to use any means to victory in a fight.

Today Bunjikan among others Ninja orgs. are more peace loving but the training is quite hard and the best quality for today. Right now, 5th degrees black belt and higher will have more intensive training than the 4th degree and lower.

Yes they do train their masters hard so their students will become better martial artists.

I see. Isn't Togakure Ryu connected to that of Iga Ryu? If so, that'd kind of make sense since there are some Kempo influences in some of the Ninjutsu styles.
