Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu is a form of Iga Ninjutsu.

Btw there is no Iga Ryu Ninjutsu but there is Koga Ryu Ninjutsu.

Samurai or Ninja neither of them should be underestimated because they are very capablable fighters.

Samurai raped women and slaughtered whomever they damned well pleased...they ranked higher than common folk and thus were in general "above the law".
They could cut someone down that merely looked at them and they didn't like it and nothing could be done about it.
Samurai weren't the "good guys" that most films make them out to be...not all Samurai chose to follow the Code of the Bushido. It wasn't a pre-requisite.

And there is a lot more to Ninja than what you'd listed too. The Various class systems and what each would be sent to do, or what they had control over.

Arson and starting uprisings were also just a small part of what Ninja would do.

Not all Ninja were Warriors, though, as it's made to look in many movies.

Ninja that did go into battle sometimes wore Plate and Chainmail Armour believe it or not, so it's not like they would always run from a fight either.
Sure, if you are outnumbered you are going to try to escape if possible...that's only common sense.

And as someone else had posted already, many Samurai were Ninja.
How better to get to a Daimyo than to be his servant and find out many trusted secrets and make it all the more easy to assassinate?

There is no *real* "Ninjutsu" Martial Art either. Ninjutsu refers to all aspects..hand to hand, weapon training and the mysticism and stealth all wound into one.
Taijutsu is the actual Hand to Hand art.

I'll stop now as I could go on a really big rant about this, but that's not worth my time.

Samurai can be very ruthless Like Jonin said. Also their loyality to damiyo first then their honor. If you insult their damiyo or them they will take quick action against you.

Ninjutsu is a martial arts as well as the skills of the Ninja. In order to compete with the Samurai the Ninjas had to be well trained in what they do.


Both warrior classes are well trained fighters first and foremost. So never underestimate neither classes.

Ninjas are really for intelligance gathering and that is their primary job is info gathers. Samurais will hire them for many reasons so Each clan had several different skills for to uses. Disguise training is part of the Ninja training.

Ninjas as well as Samurai are well versed in weapons training.

Ninjas prefer is a ninja sword because The ninja sword has a lot of little gadgets to help them to complete the mission at hand. Btw the Ninja will enjoy getting a katana any means neccassy because the Katana is a very good combat ready sword and in the hands of a good swordman it can be deadly.


Samurai prefer the katana because it is a sign of high rank. Also a well maded Katana is very dangerous weapon and in the hands of a swordman the katana is very deadly. Naginta is what Shinnok in mk4 also it is a samurai weapon also its Chinese cousin the Kwan do. Both of them are quite deadly in battle. The Female Samurai prefer this weapon because Naginta are powerful as they are deadly. Bow and Arrows are very popular with the Samurai. Katana=Long sword Waburski(msp)=meduim sword Tanto=short sword. Those are the three main swords of the Samurai with good training each of them can be deadly.

Samurais are very well trained in the Art of war and their battlefield tactics are very powerful.

Well explained, Scepter. Just a little more on the naginata... It was used widely on the battlefield during the kamakura and the early part of Sengoku, but it was mainly replaced by the yari (spear). The naginata was still used by women samurai, as you said, to defend the household while their husbands were out in battle.

Well There is another class of warrior that were popular during the fedual era Japan.

They were the Ronin. Ronins are the samurai for some reason they have no master. Some though the death of his master or he was dishonor in battle. Either way the Ronin refuse to commit seppku. Seppku is a brutal form of ritual suicide. Trust me, if you know how brutal you will not try it. Simply put it is a violent way of disbowelment. That is one of the reason the Ronin didnt do that. Ronins sometimes become mercs or bodyguards and they often work with the ninja on several missions.
Btw Ninjas and Ronins are not very well liked in Fedual Japan. Cultural and historial Samurais hate the Ninjas.

The Samurai's main loyalty was to his Damyio and He does whatever the Damyio said. Some Damyio are quite ruthless and that is the reason the ninjas come into being.
