Plot: In theaters April 15, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale (Courtney Cox), who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

Last summer, Scream 4 was officially announced by dimension films in a press release. In July, director Wes Craven and Jaime Kennedy were throwing hints about possibly returning, but that was the last we heard...until now!

Kevin Williamson is returning to write a script and they are already trying to get Neve,David, and Courtney back for cameos. It seems like this film MIGHT follow new teens getting killed in woodsboro!

I'll be seeing this for sure. Neve Campbell is smoking, and has not been in many movies since early 2000's. Well none that made her standout again.

Actually I don't see anything wrong with Scream or it's sequels. They're pretty much THE slasher movie references.

I'm curious to see 4.

I didn't really enjoy that movie. Probably because the killer looked so ridiculous.

So they're going to ruin the one horror movie franchise that had well-produced, quality sequels? That's great.

I don't see this working out, I just don't honestly. I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, anyone?

Wow! Big fan of the original trilogy, which is probably why I hadn't been thinking a lot about the fourth. I like the characters enough to have always wanted to go back and see more of them, but obviously there's the doubt that they can sustain that much material. Turns out the ten year wait was the perfect solution to that!

Had no idea the movie was so imminent!
Finally checked out the trailers on a whim.

Amazing! Brilliant! It's been a long time since I've been that convinced!

Looks like it lives up to the intelligence and humor of the original movies.
In a world where the mindless fad is to produce remakes of horror films, I love that they're dodging the threat of that possibility, and making it into a plot! That kind of commentary is exactly what I'd want from a Scream 4, which seems to be just as competent as a horror film as the classics.

Anyone else feeling positive about it now?

The only thing that comes to mind now when I think of the Scream series is the Scary Movie series. Because they're essentially one and the same.

Essentially the same, only one series was a funny, clever genre parody and a generally great movie series. And the other was Scary Movie.

I saw the trailer in the theater last night. I had to be the asshole that said "That looks so shitty!" a little too loud. Many lawls were had in the theater that day, by everyone.

Honestly, I'm sorry to say that this looks horrible even in the trailers.

Would be more intrigued had they taken this in a new direction. It looks like a repeat of everything we've already seen in this series and many others.

I just watched the trailer. Look stellar.

But. They may have ruined Monica Gellar's death. That's lame.

Wow... Have you seen the trailers?

They're clearly remaining refreshingly consistent to the material, but just as specifically moving forward with the concept. The irony is that they seem to be parodying exactly that attitude, to some degree...
