I'm sure everyone in the world can always look back to a song, or songs, that make them relive or think about past experiences and memories. It's actually such an amazing thing I believe, when just hearing a song can take you back in time and make you realize 'Wow, this song reminds me of .. ' and instantly, memories just flash back into your mind.
I'm the kind of person who enjoys hearing these songs from time to time, to just remind my self to never forget those good/bad memories, because in one way or another, they're part of your life. Maybe it's just how I am, but music is such a huge influence in my life and of who I am, so I guess it's why I will forever treasure these songs.
Anyways, just curious to what songs remind of your childhood/back home/past relationships/experiences/ etc. Or just songs that hold a certain significance to you.
Here's my list, in no particular order.
Linkin Park - In The End
Linkin Park - Numb
Linkin Park - Faint
Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit
Limp Bizkit - Rolling
Limp Bizkit - My Way or the Highway
Evanacesnce - Bring me to Life
DMX - Party Up In Here
Simple Plan - Perfect
Simple Plan - I'm Addicted to You
Good Charlotte - Rich and the Famous
Good Charlotte - Boys and Girls
Billy Talent - Try Honesty
Adema - Immortal
Outkast - Hey Ya
Outkast - I Love the Way You Move
50 Cent - 21 Questions
50 Cent - In Da Club
Most of these songs remind me of my childhood (I'm 17 right now). Just even looking at these songs remind me of old friends, old neighbour hoods, old experiences, old arguments, old fights, old moments where you just go out with friends and have fun in the summer, old bike rides, people I met .. it's just crazy.
I'll add more later for sure. My list is huge, and hopefully this thread gets results cause I think it'll add a very nice, nostalgic discussion.

Its weird, the song could have absolutely nothing to do with the moment but it always reminds me of it. When I hear good music, the music will always remind me of what I was doing or what I was into at the time.
Killswitch's Reckoning reminds me of my ex (listened to it while we were going out)
Avenged Sevenfold's Strength of the World reminds me of church (Remember listening to this on my way home from church once)
Viva la Vida reminds me of Super Smash Bros. of all things (Listened to it while playing Smash competitively)
The first thing that pops up when I hear the MK theme song is Piccolo fighting Broly! (An FMV I watched as a kid)
Owl City's Fireflies reminds me of a mall (It was a mall where you could choose what music played by texting a song to the mall's number and my friend texted Fireflies)
Hate it or Love it by The Game reminds me of Elementary School (It came out while I was in fifth grade I think. I remember memorizing all the lyrics lol)
Immortal Technique's Dancing with the Devil reminds me of this mountain by house that I climbed a year ago (Listened to this while climbing)
Blind Guardian's Precious Jerusalem reminds me of my car (I got my license and car around the time I got into Blind Guardian)
Kind of weird.

Very interesting Sub, nice to see you took the time to explain.
Hate it or Love it came out when I was in grade 6 or 7. Can't remember. Use to sing to this all the time with a bunch of other 50 songs, haha. Little gangster days.
Its funny how the actual lyrics of the songs don't matter at all actually somtimes, just the sheer escence it holds on you.
Linkin Park - In The End
This song reminds me of an FMV I watched in gr.5 of Dragon Ball Z. It was a tribute to Vegeta, and till this day, is the best FMV i've ever seen. It was amazing, and I remember almost shedding a tear at some of the scenes in it.
Linkin Park - Numb
Reminds me of those dark gloomy days when I was in grade 4. I use to hear this song all the time on MuchMusic, and itll make me think when I would sit in my room and watch tv on rainy days. Haha.
Linkin Park - Faint
Just like this song, really. I became a big Linkin Park fan, and this was a song that was just amazing.
Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit
Reminds me of last summer, waking up early and going out.
Limp Bizkit - Rolling
Ah, this song right here reminds me of the WWF early WWE era. Me and my bro use to love wrestling, and this song came out. We always liked it, and then the Undertaker had it for some time as his theme song.
Limp Bizkit - My Way or the Highway
Love this song. It reminds me a lot of wrestling and watching it with my bro.
Evanacesnce - Bring me to Life
Instantly reminds me of Saint Seiya, and of an FMV Tribute to Shaka of Virgo.
DMX - Party Up In Here
FMV of Dragon Ball Z haha. Reminds me of grade 5 summer.
Simple Plan - Perfect
Reminds me of grade 4, and that entire time of my life. Reminds me a lot of the bike rides I would have with some friends/
Simple Plan - I'm Addicted to You
Reminds me of when me and my bro would watch tv together, and listen to music. Me and him always sang a long to this song in a joke manner.
Good Charlotte - Rich and the Famous
Takes me back to grade 4 again. Reminds me of my bro and since he was a little rocker back then, I remember listening to this song because of him.
Good Charlotte - Boys and Girls
Same thing, just reminds me of my brother.
Billy Talent - Try Honesty
Reminnds me when me and my bro would joke around on Friday nights just me and him.
Adema - Immortal
Mortal Kombat : Deadly Alliance. Nuff said.
Outkast - Hey Ya
Haha, reminds me of grade 5. This is such a nice song, loved listening to it.
Outkast - I Love the Way You Move
See above.
50 Cent - 21 Questions
Loved 50 back in the day, and when I was in my little 'gangster phase'. In the present right now, I look back to this song and understand the lyrics a lot more now. Makes me think of finding the right girl to dedicate this song too
50 Cent - In Da Club
Reminds me of when I first started to like rap.

I REMEMBER THAT FMV! With "In The End" and Vegeta! Wow, I feel so old. That was indeed one of the best.
Anything by Billy Joel reminds me of my ex. We did a Billy Joel show in marching band that year.
You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC I think was kind of the song that introduced me to my interest in music and rock, strange as it sounds. It was from there that I just continued to find more artists and songs that I liked.
Another weird one, "Ride Wit Me" by Nelly reminds me of elementary school. It came out in 2001, so during that summer I had just gotten out of 3rd grade. It was my second summer since moving to Maine and was when I started to really develop my early friendships with people here.
I'll think of more later, gotta go to bed now.

Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers.. Mostly because when I was a kid I remember hearing it a lot. As my mom listened to a lot of grunge and rock still. Like Nirvana and Soundgarden Metallica etc. I can identify with the song cause I was passed around when I was a kid. Whether it was to live with my aunts or my grandmother. I felt alone a lot . But , now that I'm older I can understand what was going on with my mom and having me so young... I love this song and can remember the good times I did have growing up.

Iced Earth's "Watching Over Me" is pretty significant to me. Makes me think of friends who pasted away WAY before their time.
Iron Maiden's "Infinite Dreams" also holds a special place in my heart.

This is something I could literally do all day as I make and love music to a sickening degree.
Sunshine by Lupe Fiasco - I met a girl in 2007 on a website and we somehow managed to click enough to keep in touch. This song reminded me of how cool I felt she was. To this day, we moved from a random date site to Myspace to Yahoo IM then got disconnected (because of her mother). Three years later, she finds me on Twitter in an unlikely discussion topic and we've gone from there, to Facebook, to cell phones and now we Skype whenever we can. Deep.
The World Is Yours by Nas - I first discovered Illmatic on 2003. I had also just gotten my hands on a copy of Ready To Die and while I loved the album (i.e. Ready To Die) it did nothing to help my anti-social and miserable outlook on life. This song in particular instilled in me a very chilled mentality that I uphold to this day. Rough patches through high school though, but that's not what this song is about.
She Lives In My Lap by Andre 3000 feat. Rosario Dawson - It simply reminds me of my complete failure in my romantic endeavors. Nothing more.
Yeah Yeah U Know It by Keith Murray feat. Def Squad - 1st heard this on a DJ Clue mixtape in possession of my cousin Sean. It reminds me of the VERY fun times I had at his and my other cousin's apartment in '03. I caught buses in the dead of night just to hang with them. Dangerous for a 13 year old.
It's Alright by Mobb Deep feat. Mary J. Blige & 50 Cent - The woman described in the song reminded me of my mom and I played it for her boyfriend and he agreed. Still their relationship didn't work out, but I love the man like a father figure and we stay in touch.
Smile by G-Unit (Lloyd Banks solo) - In '03 it was unanimous in my school that Beg For Mercy was a CLASSIC! This song stands out for the fact that I had a crush on a girl in one of my classes and I'd play this song in my room (which was temporarily in the living room at the time) and lay there daydreaming about her. She turned out to be a total bitch in the end, but whatever.
So Sincere by J-spit (ME!! :P) - This song literally started off as a freestyle in which I mention biting a girl's sandwich (because we swapped sandwiches for a taste) and I ended up writing lyrics leading to it. I liked this girl from the moment I met her, but she's yet to look at me in a more grownup light. As it stands she's slipping mentally and dealing with the wrong kind of guy. We can't control others' fates though, man. Just hope she smartens up and looks for someone better. Not me though. I'm no longer interested.
Good Die Young by D12 - This album came out soon after one of my cousins passed away. I picked it up because I was (am) a HUGE Eminem/D12 fan. I listened through the whole album on a trip to Muskegon and this song came on. I almost cried in my sisters room as it played. The reason being he used to rap and gave me my stage name. So a rap song about a rapper who inspired other rappers and died shortly after hit WAY too close to home. I didn't know him well enough as far as I'm concerned. I was too young to and I wasn't as nice a person then in my young age. R.I.P. Stanley Javon "Suspect" Robinson
I'll stop here until I KNOW someone's interested in more.

"Homesick" by A Day To Remember
Basically it put into musical form my own homesickness and frustration over what I did to myself by joining the Army. The worst mistake of my life.

In the End
Great song from a great band. I loved Linkin Park but I sort of lapsed after Meteora and never got that interest back. My favorite song by them was "With You".
A large amount of songs that stick with me I gleaned from AMVs:
With You
Vast- Touched
Ultraspank - Where
Nightwish - 10th Man Down
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Also have soft spots for Duran Duran's "Come Undone", Stevie Nick's "Edge of Seventeen", Within Temptation's "Blue Eyes", and Skillet's "Hero".

"Hero" by Skillet (as well as "No More Sorrow" from Linkin Park) will always remind me of Blues games, because those were the songs played when the players came out to the ice.
"Headstrong" from Trapt reminds me of Six Flags back in middle school.
"The Dolphin's Cry" by Live reminds me of the apartment I grew up in because my dad always played that song.
"Bring Me to Life" reminds me of Orlando (particularly Universal Studios). My favorite theme park ever!
Cee-Lo Green - Fuck You
- New Years playing poker.
This song was on in the background and I won the last nine hands, so my friend said the title applies to me.

Lame, who has that kinda money?!?
I have many, but a random one that comes to my mind at the moment is TLC's Dont' Go Chasing Waterfalls. My sister was a big TLC fan when we were little and really anything by TLC reminds me of her. Never been a fan of them myself though.
Also, that one song by Dynomite hack (sp???) Boyz in Tha Hood. I fucking love this song, it reminds me sooo much of my childhood. And I remember singing along to it drunk off my ass and at the top of my lungs with one of my oldest and best friends the last time we hung out, the night before he left for Iraq. Such a 90's classic.

I absolutely love this song, and it just sums up my love for Mortal Kombat in under 40 seconds. This song reminds me of those late nights I would stay up playing MK3 and UMK3, with the lights turned off and the game music blasting.
Love listening to Mortal Kombat songs while on the subway/walking/taking bus at night, it just fits the mood so perfectly.
