But anyway, while the roster is alright I guess, the fact that there are so many disc-locked DLC characters is bullshit and just another way for Crapcom/Cashcom to make money off of idiots. I can't believe that Bryan and Jack were not included in the normal game.
Herp Derp lets put Megaman in SFxT as a middle aged man who looks like he hasn't left his basement in years. Let's not put him in Marvel vs Crapcom 3 though like everyone wanted.
The game-play itself is awkward in some aspects. I get that some characters should have slower attacks, but Dhalsim just floating through the air ever so slowly when jumping is one of the most annoying things I have every experienced in a game. There is no reason for it to be the way it is. It's not like he has some ridiculous combos and it is used to keep him from being able to do them often. There is no reason for him to move so slowly through the air.
The gem system bugs me a bit because the characters have certain strengths and weaknesses and there should be no way to make one character an even match for a different in my opinion. Every character should have characters who they are good against and who they are bad against (at least according to tournament players). I see it either way as, the players decide whether the match-up is good, not the characters. There is no purpose to the gems due to this in my opinion. I feel as if you shouldn't need a boost, because that just adds another reason for people to complain online if they lose (I haven't even touched online yet). I really don't want to hear little kids complaining about how I had a speed boost or a strength boost and that is why I won. I would rather just win by using what my character naturally provides me with. Now I have only played the game for a short while and I am not sure if you can turn off gems completely (online or offline) so if this is possible I may just do that.
Again, I haven't touched online yet so I am not sure how smooth it runs and whatnot.
I get that it would be a bitch to make Video endings for every pairing combination possible, but they shouldn't just make them for the "actual team pairs" either. They should just do what Tekken Tag did and make individual character endings where you unlock the ending of whichever character you picked first. I can see why they would do this if they just wanted you to actually play with all the characters to get the endings instead of just pick your main and a random character and then just rape through arcade with your main.
Again, other than the 12 or whatever DLC characters that are already on the disc and the fact that Bryan & Jack aren't already playable... The roster is pretty good. While the Tekken half of the roster certainly appeals to me more than the Street Fighter / Crapcom half, they didn't make terrible choices on either half. I would have enjoyed if color 2 / costume 2 for Kuma was Panda still but sadly that was not the case. Instead they will probably make us pay money just to get Panda.
The color customization is pretty terrible as well..... well I mean until they make us pay for more colors that is. You currently can pick from either of the costume colors for the piece your are choosing or black or white. Those are your 4 choices.
So you have
- Costume 1 color
- Costume 2 color
- Black
- White
For each selectable thing that is. I was kinda hoping that they would at least give us a few colors but then again... Why would they? They can get people to buy it.
I'll post more when I have played more.

It's a never ending cycle of being dicked-around with Capcom. I'm surprised the fighting game community still clings to the likes of Street Fighter or MVC, all integrity has been drained from the franchise.
Blanka's been one of my favourite characters since I was a kid, but I'm not paying for him. Hell, I was tempted to buy the game but now I'm not going to bother at all, and for the exact same reason I avoided getting MvC3. I might have complained about some of MK9's issues, but thank christ they never took too many leafs out of Capcom's DLC book. A locked retro skin and locked fatality isn't half as bad as locked characters with full intros/endings/movesets.

It's a real shame that there aren't a lot of game companies that can put out a solid fighting game with deep mechanics to satisfy the hardcore crowd. Its basically been the same series over and over again Street Fighter and Capcom's other spin-off series, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur, Dark Stalkers, Dead or Alive and King of Fighters.
With the arcades dead, its really hard for new franchises to actually develop a solid following. Tao Feng and Kakuto Chojin.
What insults me the most though is that game reviews now-a-days seem to consider sport fighting games like WWE, Fight Night Boxing and MMA actual fighting games. To me those are sport games.
I really would like to see new entries into series like Killer Instinct, Clay Fighters, battle Arena Toshiden, Tobal. Or at least have an established fighting game developer besides Capcom try their had at a new fighting game franchise with different mechanics that what has been tried before.

Colors are going to be free DLC actually, don't know why wouldn't they put them all at once though, pretty stupid.
Boost gems effects aren't gamebreaking, but it's stupid having to play assist gem users online. You can turn them off offline btw.

They add Christie... OHHHH BUT THEY DONT ADD EDDY because you know, Christie is way more iconic than EDDY MUTHERFUKING GORDO!!!!!!!!!!! Another reason why Crapcom can go eat endless penises. If one day they go Bankrupt. I hope its forever....... *sigh* i swear to fucking god..... if they do this type of shit with Resident Evil 6...... i will go insane (which i am already considering the fact i wasted money on this fuckery of a game.)

Regarding the Colors - Oh ok. I wasn't sure because didn't the colors cost Money / Microsoft Points for SF3 when it was released.
Regarding Boost Gems - Yes they aren't game-breaking but they just add to the list of things people will complain about when losing, and they aren't necessary in the game at all.
I played a little bit more and I am not sure if anyone else agrees with me but Hugo is completely broken. He is going to be called the Sentinel of this game.
I am also enjoying how Poison plays. He/She may become one of my mains if I decide to keep this game.
Online Play seemed to be a bit laggy when I played a few games yesterday (2 or 3). I didn't stop playing because the lag was bad to the point where I couldn't take it anymore but I stopped to continue playing offline instead.
I did some of the trials and dear god... The timing is so weird in this game. The timing for doing combos that is. It just feels awkward doing the inputs. Half the time I end up putting the inputs in too fast or too slow but the time between "Too Fast" and "Too Slow" is so slim that I haven't been able to figure out exactly when I have to input the next command / attack. There was one combo I was doing where it asked for several crouching attacks but it was bizarre because for each attack I had to re-crouch. Not sure why it was the case but the combo just wasn't working without doing so.
Also, with a normal controller I am having trouble with Crouch punching and then Shoryuken. I'm having difficulty doing the two within the time that the game considers it a combo.

Yeah links are hard to do, you need to delay it a bit so the two attacks can hit before the opponent can block. The timing is strict but it's not necessary to use in a real match, just for trials.
The crouch into shoryuken can be made easier by buffering, this is starting the DP command before you do do the crouching. So you would be doing forward, down (crouch attack), diagonal + punch. Try it a few times.

I personally don't think the trials are that hard compared previous capcom games. I find the timing to be more forgiving than SSF4. One of the more well know Street Fighter players has said on one of the SF forums that he ranks the trials in SFXT a 2 compared with like an 8 for SSF4.

It's not what it asks you to do that is too difficult, it's just the timing aspect that bothers me.

Vesper Arcade who has done several trials from different games including Blazblue and KOF XIII said that he rates SFxT 3/10 in terms of trial difficulty and SSF4 4/10.

Coming from a guy who hasn't played a street fighter game in over 10 years I found SFxT pretty accesible. As far as the trials go, yeah they are pretty easy. Timing can be hard but once you find the right rhythm the combo flows like water.

Also, the timing between Ogre's Infinite Kick Combo hitting and causing a launcher instead is a pain.

Nope, Cole and the cats weren't on the 360 disc, only Megaman and Pac Man.

I know wikipedia isn't credible for all it's information. But after looking up SFxT I found something odd. According to wikipedia there's an additional 8 characters. These characters are Alex, Charlie, Oro, Q, Baek Doo San, Bruce Irvin, Wang Jinrei, and Jinpachi Mishima.
I myself think it's just a bunch of shit someone made up. Who knows? Just thought I would share that.
