The only reasons why I'm getting these bullshit-on-disc-DLCs are Elena, Alisa, Sakura and WUUULOOOONGGG

Yeeeah, I'll just wait til later in the year to get this game.
I f***ing hate Capcom.
They charged people "DLC" for on-disc costumes in SFIV that were in the Arcades over a year before it even came to consoles. They charged for "friendly fire" in Resident Evil 5. They charged for cheat codes in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. They charged for pallet swaps in Marvel vs Capcom 2. They charged for bloody DIFFICULTY modes in Mega Man 9.
But Street Fighter X Tekken? Takes the cake. Endings, intros, models, moves... it's all on disc... locked... until you pay them to flip a switch. And they had the nerve to do this not to one or two characters but nearly a THIRD of the goddamn cast.
They "said" they wouldn't have an ultimate edition, but with this much BS, scam content, locked content, and DLC (that's not even touching all those on-disc costume packs), I don't believe it for one friggin' second.
Even worse? It's confirmed a lot of the "Sony-exclusive" characters are included in full on the Xbox 360 discs... only they're still "Sony exclusive" until I guess Sony says they're not or their exclusivity window expires. Still, how would YOU feel paying the same as everyone else only you don't get to play with the same characters because they threw an arbitrary lock on YOUR copy instead of PS3 and Vita copies?
You know what. Just screw 'em. Not even my love for Elena or Poison means I can support this crap. I make games myself, and I can't STAND greedy bastards like this that literally hold amazing content hostage from gamers and platform holders just BECAUSE THEY CAN and they know that if even one moron buys it, they've made a profit (since I utterly reject the idea that this was a "separate" budget. None of their prior games ever showed that development model.)
Seriously... I'm furious. After Resident Evil: Revelations, I was getting hope again: a game with no online pass, no on-disc DLC, no locked costumes or scams like paying for cheats or difficulty or friendly fire. And since the game returned to its roots, it felt like Capcom listening to their fans and doing something smart... and the game sold VERY well. I thought that'd send them a nice message that we're not sheep; we're fans. We love the brands, but we don't like being exploited.
SFxT is becoming the epitome of exploitation of a fanbase. It very much feels like a game that gives such a little damn about anything but good business.
Again, Mortal Kombat 2011 may not be the greatest game ever, and it had its own problems (the online pass), but it showered its fans with content, freebies, and worthwhile DLC that was actually, you know, not on the disc and was developed post-launch.
Capcom's handling of SFxT is heinous... and I'm saddened to know the game will be a phenomenal success due to such powerhouse brands crossing over, and its DLC will probably earn them enough profits that it'll motivate other companies to cut corners or just outright say "f*** our fans... they'll pay out the ass for ANYTHING."
Here's hoping the gaming media doesn't just ignore this.
I'm dreading a future of Capcom games where you have to pay for sound effects, the ability to play as minorities, and controller options. Hell, they already HAVE charged for options like difficulty and friendly fire... nothing is out of the question now.
EDIT: I had enough. I just wrote Capcom up to the Better Business Bureau for dishonest business practices, up to and including, telling people they are "downloading characters as DLC" when the reality is these characters and costumes are NOT being downloaded and are on disc. I also brought up their prior transgressions in orderly form. Even if what they are doing IS legal, it is far from ethical, and here's hoping the BBB can do something about it.

Yeah these are 100% complete characters from the looks of things. Capcom literally locked away a third of the cast
This is the future. EA, Activision, Ubisoft and Capcom are all on board with these garbage DLC/Online Pass tactics. Eventually the rest of Japan will pick up on this and we'll soon be paying $5 for hidden dungeons in Final Fantasy. This is getting ugly.
Thank God Neatherrealm Studios had some class with its DLC approach. Good on them

Oh Capcom.

Wow.
That's very sad.
I'm definitely waiting this out. Capcom has disappointed me for years.
And Elena's voice is extremely annoying
Edit: Haha! Capcom had the video removed.

Can someone tell me what the hell capcom is doing that's so bad? I'm slow and tired right now so my brain isn't really functioning properly. Something about characters and such.

They are holding 12 complete characters back to release later as DLC.
I must say, it's a lot, but this game it's good enough without DLC, I mean 38 characters from the get go is more than fine (if you don't count the cats and Cole for the PS3), Mortal Kombat only had 28. They are releasing Pacman and Megaman for free (rumors say that even for Xbox 360) a week later, that would be 40 characters without DLC.
If 40 characters is not enough, then nothing is lol.

Wanna know a really dumb move? I got 30 bucks (Possibly more later) and I'll end up getting this game even though Capcom are seriously being shitheads.

I'm getting it too. Despite the fact that Capcom really is being greedy. My favorite character from SF is unplayable even though he is on the disk. So stupid. Why should gamers have to suffer because Capcom wants more money?
They're not getting one cent out of me for people already on the Vita version. That simple.
I'm terrified for what this will mean for Darkstalkers 4, though I don't have a damn clue who they'd put on that apart from guests I'd have no interest in whatsoever.

I completely forgot that Skullgirls MIGHT be coming out this month so I'll hold my money for that.
Is there anymore fighting games that are fun other than Street fighter X Tekken and Super Street fighter 4?

I 100% can not wrap my f***ing brain around why Lee Chaolan is not in this game.
Ah well. At least I still have Kazuya. Guess I'll have to step it up with Yoshimitsu, Fury or King. Maybe Akuma?

If this is correct Capcom isn't getting another cent from me for DLC. I'm already paying more for the Collector's Edition of the game. I actually would have had no problem paying for the 4 character pack with Christie in it, but the fact that the "Ultimate" update is essentially finished and just locked on the disk is BS.
I was pissed about the SF4/SSF4 BS and thought Capcom couldn't get any lower, guess I was wrong.
Capcom is scrambling to get the YouTube videos pulled before they hurt the game's sales since it hasn't even been released yet.
[edit]: GameSpot's review is in and the game gets an 8.5. They say online is inconsistent with lag and is what mars the game experience. The gameplay has also been made more accessible but not noon friendly like MvsC3, which I'm really glad to hear. It's just a shame they are pulling this BS with the DLC. To be honest I really wouldn't be surprise if Capcom actually asked them to publish the review early to counter the negative press over the DLC. Just seems weird the timing that the review gets published the day before release when most of the time they're held until release.

Well I got it. So if anybody wants a review just tell me what you want to know about it and I will do my best to let you know about it.

I've been playing trial mode for the past 45 mins trying to get a hold of the way the game plays, and my initial impression is I really like this new system they have in place. Much more beginner friendly IMO. The gameplay has been sped up somewhat, inputs are slightly forgiving, and the new tag juggle system plays very similarly to the juggle system in general in MK9 to be honest. They've also gone and introduced quick combos and quick strings to help beginners/button mashers, but it hasn't been so easy that the game lacks depth and button mashing will only get you so far.
