Totally not necessary IMO, but since SF4 is banking for Capcom can't blame them I guess for milking it for everything they can get from it.

All they have to do is release patches for the tweaks and DLC for characters...if they really wanted to.

Wow, the roster was leaked a week before the game was even announced! This looks really legit because the leak mentions the new character by name and gives a description about her BEFORE THE GAME WAS ANNOUNCED.

So no Alex or Sean : (

Seeing as they've been doing this for years now, I would find it hard to believe anyone would be pissed off at this. It's standard practice for SF

The problem is these are very different times. Improvements to games are done through downloads, patches, expansions etc. Not through making a "new" game altogether. And to be honest I didn't see it coming myself. After Street Fighter apparently getting with the times thanks to Street Fighter 4, I sort of expected them to act like normal game makers and just make a Street Fighter 5.

This was planned to be a normal update with characters, but evolved into much more. They plan to change each character to make the game balance, which would make it incompatible with SFIV online. That, and the new ultras, characters, stages, it would make it impossible for Super to be downloadable content

Plus if it was should've been just downloadable content, then so should have Halo 3:ODST because after all it is just a glorified expansion pack. Plus there are still some poor schmucks who don't have live, like me

I disagree with that, because ODST is a completely different storyline in the same timeframe as Halo 3. This is just Capcom exploiting their consumers like they have been for years.

ODSTs campaign is too short for it to be a standalone. Fallout 3 has such things yet they remain downloadable content. ODST could've been the same thing

I really don't understand why people are upset about the release of SSF4. There will be 8 new characters, new stages, rebalanced gameplay, brand new prologues and endings, and it won't even be 60 bucks.

And about the Arab character. When I read about him, I didn't really notice the Arab obsessed with oil thing. All I read was "grappler." I'm gonna use him because we could all use another grappler

Also, I'm not one hundred percent sure about this but didn't SF already have an Arab character that could wrestle? Darrun anyone? Street Fighter EX? No? I liked that game : (

Upon doing proper research on the subject, I realize that Capcom aren't being dicks- they're actually being pretty great guys since they're releasing what's practically Street Fighter 5 at retail price.

What are you talking about? So forgive me for not "dickriding" SF4 or Capcom when in reality they can simply put this stuff out there for DLC....ask most gamers with logic, would you rather dlc few more characters and patches or spend another 60 bucks? Anwyay, I'm getting more neutral about this, because I don't plan on buying it. Honestly though, to release a game that's only a system update away with characters that should just be DLC, I don't think it's worth $60 since I won't be using any of the new ones anyway, now if it had Sean, I might dish out $10 if he were just DLC, but I find it hard to justify marketing this as an entirely new game.

Umm, that's correct but please know all of your facts before making assumptions.... That was over a year ago or so and have been back here for quite some time now but then I chose not to visit here that much plus with life getting in the way I had less time. Don't believe me? There's someone who prefers to buy a game with a gazillion glitches/infinites found the first day the game came out and ultra-broken gameplay....cool.And then criticize a game for getting a better version with lots of better and tweaked content.....yeah sure.

You're so informed you don't even know it will be costing 30$ bucks.

You think whole new characters and gameplay tweaks (something that isn't half as simple as you make it out to be) aren't worth 30 dollars? Even the storyline of the game is different, it's set one year after SF4 which means new bios and endings.
