It's a great movie but idiots are blaming the jews instead of blaming mankind.

It was a powerful movie. I remember walking out of the theatre not being able to say anything because I was so moved.

Yeah, it was wierd. I've seen Jesus movies before but I wasn't as moved as much as The Passion.

The Passion makes you really think about what happened and I think that also was the whole point of the movie. It is a good movie but certainly not that kind you want to watch over and over again.

Like I said I didn't see it all but I felt bad when the guy whipping him was laughing. I left when he got whipped in the face.

Never saw it. I have no desire to see Jesus get the crap kicked out of him time and again just to feed Mel Gibson's ego/wallet.

I wouldn't say that. It's a movie, made by the same guy who played Riggs in Lethal Weapon.

It's a good movie yes. It's well put together yes. It shouldn't change your life tho.

This movie is about the death, painful death, of Jesus. His life, his works, his doings, those are the things that should change your life, not a movie from Braveheart.

I saw it in the movie theatre. I'm not going to lie, it made me cry. It really is a great movie. It's very powerful and real.

It just pisses you off to see all the shit they to do to Jesus. And even though it is Jesus, it's just sad to see that shit happen to anyone.

I think it's a movie that everybody should see. NO, it's not really a life-changing movie, but it's definetely good. The cinematography is awesome. Melly did a good job with it.

Incredible movie (up there with "Schindler's List" IMO).

I didn't cry, but only 'cause I made a huge effort not to.

First movie that I've ever been to where NOBODY said a single word until 5-10 movies after it had ended.

I just watched it today, and I don't know what to say about it. I've never felt for a movie, what I feel for this one. It's everything people say it is, powerfull, moving, and unforgetable. I will never forget this movie, never. Brendan, I encourage you to see it from beginning to end, trust me, it's unlike anything you've ever seen.

I'm keeping a tight eye on this thread. The minute people veer off topic to the validty of any religous theme, it's going to get closed.

Anyway, I liked the movie. The movie isn't suppose to make you think "Man, it's horrible how they can do something like that to Jesus." It's suppose to make you think, "Man, Jesus loved humanity so much that he took this upon himself." In my eyes, that's what the passion really is. An act of love the part of the suffering servant.

I loved the flogging better than the whipping. I only got as far as Barabas getting freed though, I gotta finish it. If you didn't know what it was about, from what I saw, you wouldn't know any better. It's so far, like a movie that you had to have read the book first (A.K.A. 2001: A Space Odyssey).

It doesn't really explain why things are happening, and it doesn't bother to give you time to understand the key players. I was raised catholic so I know better, but to look at it completely free of that background, it is really confusing, and not very well established.

The effects artist though has got to get best SFX at the academy awards. The whipping and the flogging were top notch honestly.

I really like how they portrayed Pilot as a man between a rock and a hard place. I could really identify him.

But the movie could have been better. I'll let you know once I find a DVD player that'll play the whole damn thing.

Not bad, if you don't know the story very confusing, great realism so far, and Barabous is hilarious.

Yeah, interesting thing about that, since skeptics so often cite Pilate's reluctance as a historical inaccuracy of Pilate's character in the Gospels, but they don't consider the political consequences Pilate was facing at the time.

Anyway, I just got done watching it for the first time, very good movie, very moving.

One thing I like about the movie though is it's realism, but I'm not talking about the gore, I'm talking about the more subtle realism in the depiction (I guess that's the right word) of the honor/shame dialectic (I guess that would be the right word) that existed in Jesus's time in the society He lived in. One example is near the beginning of the movie when Jesus is being questioned by the Pharisees, and Jesus, more or less, won't give the priest a straight answer at first. In that society, that was a way of shaming an authority, deeply insulting. Another example is when Jesus is being beaten with the sticks (whatever they're called) until He kneels down, and then later stands back up. You can see how insulted the soldiers are when He stands back up, making them resort to the use of those whip things (whatever they're called). An even more subtle example is when Jesus willfully embraces and carries His cross.

Anyway, good movie, more realistic in it's depiction of the Passion and the people involved than any previous Jesus movies. Although there's still a storm at the end...that really bugs me...

I thought that movie was very moving. I was very angry at humanity after watching that movie, the people torturing Jesus were animals. I can't believe that Jesus went through all of that to save others that would do something to him like that...

I went to tears only on one part of that movie. The whipping made my mouth drop but it wasn't that that moved me. The part that made me tear was when Mary ran over to Jesus when he was carrying the cross and she had the flash backs of when he was a kid and he fell. I can't imagine what it would be like to watch your son getting beaten viciously to death by others. And when Jesus got up and said "see mother I am making a change" my eyes got all watery.
