"Sorry guys, the machine wanted me nowhere near the Royal Rumble match. But I thank everyone for their support. YOU are the #YESMovement" - Bryan Danielson

"They try to keep US down and away from the top spots, but they can’t ignore the reactions forever. Keep voicing your opinions. #YESMovement" - Bryan Danielson

"Does @WWE actually hate their own audience? I've never been so disgusted with a PPV." - Mick Foley

I can't help but think this is all a giant work.
Conspiracy angle leading to a triple threat at Mania.

They could have easily had 40 guys in the Rumble this year. I mean Bad News Barrett, Axel, Tensai, Clay, Ryder and 3MB weren't used. On top of Daniel Bryan.

Major venom heading WWE's way.

I guess its all up in the air at this point. WWE has done a number of things to suggest its not a work(wwe twitter unfollowed punk, punk's movie pulled from Netflix, etc).

On the other side of the coin though, look how much attention this has garnered. Its a shame to see that the wwe just refuses to take punk's potential as THE star of the company seriously. When the man acts, people pay attention.

Dropping the DVD from Netflix is the big one, but when you consider the Network is right around the corner, it's not exactly shocking. Unfollowing a Twitter is undone with a couple of clicks -- and for all the talk about Punk references being dropped from the website, he's still on every page under the Superstars menu. [I don't know if there's even any truth to claims references were removed.]

The coverage and reactions make it all feel real, but that's the world we're living in. The marksheets rarely have a gauge for legitimate rumor, fed leaks, or pure nonsense.

WMXXX has great potential to be a reboot of the company. If going back to these kinds of worked-shoots is ever going to be on their radar - now's a damn good time do it!

The games are doing Attitude Era modes. There's a Monday Night War rerun coming on the network. The New Age Outlaws just won the tag team titles from Goldust. It seems like the era of worked shoots is certainly on their minds.

As much as I'd love to believe that were true, that would require me to have some measure of faith in wwe's booking. We've all been burned too many times at this point.

I'll believe it when Punk pops up out of the chamber, HBK style, and helps Bryan win the title.

Wrestlemania XXXI implications maybe. I'm pretty sure Punk wants the main event, it'll be the only thing that draws him back. Unfortunately, WWE is hell bent on giving us the main event nobody wants.

If the main event really is the difference, I wonder if they're considering a four-way. Orton defending against Batista, Bryan Danielson and CM Punk really wouldn't be a bad deal. Might be tricky getting the satisfactory finish, though.

Not a bad option, but a satisfactory finish is probably the furthest thing from their mind. The belt on Batista's shoulder at The Guardians premiere, now that's satisfactory!

God I hate how pessimistic the WWE has made me haha.

I wonder if
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
after the Wyatt attack last night, they'll just cram Bryan into that program. There's a house show in my area the week before mania, and the Wyatt's vs Cena and Bryan is one of the matches. Ugh. I just wanna see Bray drive Cena's face into the mat. Anything else is gravy.

The Undertaker should be returning soon. Is Lesnar still the match at this point? It figures after all these years, Sting finally wants the match, and nobody cares. Depressing.

Thoughts on Hogan hosting Mania? Just more time stolen from the workhorses at this point. The thing that bums me out more is the rumor that WWE is eyeing a GM role for him after Mania. I guess it worked out so well in TNA, right?

Dang, Batista was a pile of shit on RAW. He had a short match against Del Rio and was sweating and heaving like he had just went through a 1 hour iron man match. I'm glad they're admitting that he has to be a heel, though. Batista vs. Orton, heel vs heel in a title match. Very interesting, actually.

What? Nobody has anything to say after that RAW?
If nothing else, you've got to say they've elevated Wrestlemania XXX from a hypothetical to a tangible main event card! We're short of a full card, but it's coming along!

I'm intrigued by the Bret Hart/WMX style push for Bryan Danielson. I'm not sure it was the best way to get here, but they've built some hype. The double header (assuming they do it) might even be a bigger push than just giving him the Rumble win and main event ticket from there.

Digging the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but I'm a little reticent about Big E Langston's submission to it. I wouldn't like to see these guys doing double duty as well, which would imply no Intercontinental title defense on the card. I'd like to think that isn't the case. There are certainly more than enough opportunities to pull Big E out for a match, or drop the belt to somebody else. I'll be interested to see what goes down between Ambrose and Mark Henry on Main Event. If Henry should wind up with that US title, those Big E/Henry rumors start to take on a different shape.

Really enjoyed the exchange between Swagger and Cesaro, too. It's a pretty little way to make a statement, but the Swiss Superman hand-crusher really got me jazzed. It flipped the script, as far as I'm concerned. I really thought Swagger was going to follow his (hilarious) refusals to shake hands by throwing them. A crushing grip from the unnaturally strong Cesaro was great.

Hoping they pull off something big with the tag teams, too. We got a lot of big, bold, tangible elements out of this RAW, but the mid-card is the X-factor and there's a lot of interesting stuff bubbling. With the New Age Outlaws dropping the titles, I didn't necessarily expect them to stick in the picture. I'm glad. I like it. I think they've energized the tag picture and injected some much needed character and even star power. I'd love to see a tag team turmoil type situation, if they've got the pairs to pull it off. It's a bit of a shame for Goldust & Rhodes to not have the spotlight of a 1-on-1 feature match, but they'll be welcome in a multi-team situation. I guess we might see The Ascension as the heels. I've never been a fan of unproven talents being on a Mania card, but such are the times. If they go over the four-way, I'd like to see Los Matadores.

So, who's hyped? Surprised nobody jumped in here after that RAW!

Good god, I hope they don't squander a solid mid-card match just to lump Cesaro and Swagger in a battle royal. Come on!

- The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

On the one hand, I like that they're giving this thing much more weight than your average (pre-show) battle royal. On the other hand, a lot of these guys probably should've been competing in feature undercard bouts. If some of them still are, I think it diminishes the magnitude of the Wrestlemania XXX card having a bunch of guys do double duty. Particularly on a show where there's already a feature player in a slightly awkward double appearance: Bryan Danielson.

The line-up after Smackdown: Dolph Ziggler, Big E Langston, Fandango, Alberto Del Rio, Damien Sandow, Titus O'Neil, Christian, SHAMOUS, Big Show, Mark Henry, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, Kofi Kingston & The Miz.. That's 17 of the 30 participants.

Big E -- I'm perfectly fine with the man being in the match, but it's incredibly disappointing to see the Intercontinental Championship languishing the way it is. The IC belt has been attached to some of the greatest Wrestlemania matches. At a milestone event like XXX, it would've been very nice to see the belt finally get back into shape. There's still time to drop the belt to someone who might otherwise be in a feud, but if they don't, it's a big waste.

Sheamus & Christian -- Not quite setting the world on fire, but locked in what has been an interesting rivalry over the past couple of months. I would've liked to see them build toward a Wrestlemania grudge battle. Getting the IC title on one of them would be a great way to service the belt, keep this feud fresh, and really solidify its reason for being a Mania match. Christian might be the obvious guy to carry the title, but I actually think Sheamus as Intercontinental Champion could add some spice to things. Maybe you have him win it at Mania. Any outcome works.

Goldust & Cody Rhodes -- Another combo who could do the IC belt some favours. I was always a fan of a brotherly grudge leading to a Wrestlemania undercard feature. Goldust is winning rave reviews and has his own Wrestlemania history. A hot feud between the two would've been a feature that didn't need a title, but it would've helped the belt. It's too late to do any kind of feud between the two a real service. They should at least be competing in a tag team match. I'm up for a Tag Team Championship scramble. There's no need for them to win. They should just be giving the mid-card their legitimacy.

Alberto Del Rio -- Quite a fall from grace. As a post-Royal Rumble place holder for Batista, he hasn't been given much to work with heading into April. I liked the clash of styles that was the Batista feud and even though he didn't come out of it looking particularly strong, I thought he was able to hang on a level that puts him just outside the top tier. He could be another guy to switch the IC belt to, but it would be an emergency type move. Del Rio challenging Big E could definitely work. I might have even liked to see Del Rio come out of the Batista loss with a desperate need to prove his submission skills against a big man. Del Rio/Mark Henry, with the right build, could've been a terrific undercard spectacle. Another clash of styles with a bit of story supporting it. A Chris Jericho return also could've been handy here.

Guys like Miz, Kofi, Ziggler feel like standard battle royal fodder. They're all pretty cold, as far as I can see. This is a good place for them. I think this is the perfect place for Big Show to be, as the eponymous Giant in the Andre tribute. I would expect Alexander Rusev to fulfil a similar role. I'm sure we'll see more big men and that works for me.

I'd much rather see Cesaro in Swagger in the undercard, one on one. Not even keen on them in the tag mix. I'd much rather see The Shield in a feature match than dissolving in the battle royal, as well. We did that in the Royal Rumble. Pull the trigger on the split, or tag them out. I like a US title triple threat match, but that's just me.

Anybody else dialed into this thing? Or is it just not even on the radar?

The battle royal, in theory, isn't a bad idea. I do believe the fact that its a 30 man battle royal is firmly in the territory of "overkill". I feel like 15 would've been the sweet spot for something like this. This would have made the match a bit more lean and unpredictable. If you don't already have the possible winners of this match down to three, then you're kidding yourself.

Plus, the fact that this thing is setting in the shadow of a more important 30 man battle royal isn't doing it any favors. I will say, however, that I do not mind being wrong. If this showcases guys that are getting buried, or hell, gets a guy like Ziggler or Sandow a post Mania push, then fine, it'll have served a purpose.*

Huh. That was painless. Sheamus was strong throughout the match. He'd be a logical challenger to Christian, should he win it on this week's Main Event. Which, might I say, would be a good use of their TV time.

Yeah, it's really hard to think of this in a different way to the usual 30-man Battle Royals they've been having in dark matches & pre-shows for the last 10 years.

In terms of a guy like Ziggler: Even if this turns out to be the special event they're building it up to be, I don't think a battle royal is the way to get Ziggler over. I don't think it addresses the things he needs. The logic of the match type may even compound his problems. He's throw himself into the ropes for I don't know how many Januarys, but it does nothing for him. He's carried a (briefcase) trophy and it really got him nowhere. He lacks gravitas.

His lack of gravitas comes from more than booking, but obviously booking can help him. From a meat and potatoes standpoint, he needs a really good blood feud. More than the back-and-forth repeating matches he's had in the past. He needs to find someone he clicks with and change his approach to the whole game accordingly. Everything needs to get grounded. He needs to get some grunt in his grappling and let his moves do the talking. He's got to behave in and out of the ring like he means it, rather than he wants it.

Personally, I don't know if he will ever do it. I don't see him as the main event flower waiting to bloom. I don't think he has the vital other half of the Shawn Michaels comparison he's sometimes granted. As long as that's the case, I don't know that he can expect to factor any higher than occasional random IC contender matches. Which was a spot I don't believe he'd earned on TV. He could be good spending some time in a tag team.

Y'all are really making me want to get back into wrestling. I haven't watched since the ministry of darkness and the fall of WCW. Kane is my all time favorite and I'm glad they've changed him up. And what's this talk of Sting coming to the WWE? I'd definitely watch that.

I absolutely agree. Unfortunately, it's just not that type of product anymore. Thoughtful, longterm booking has given way to indecisive, on the fly shit storms from a company that would rather piss on the IWC than put any true effort into building talent. Its amazing to see a feud that doesn't involve Orton and Cena last longer than a month.....

Blahhhhh....let's get this back on topicsmile

The vignette that they've put together for the Wyatt/Cena match, makes me realize how much I miss a good vignette. They just aren't used that effectively anymore, but I really feel like they hit the nail on the head with this one. Also good to see that Cena cut the bullshit and started taking the promos for this thing a bit more seriously.

Triple H, Daniel Bryan...at this point I don't care who gets into the triple threat match. I'm just so fucking happy that they realized Orton vs Batista was a fucking train wreck in the making. I just can't put into words how boring these two are. I can't believe that THIS, was the main event that they pictured for the 30th anniversary of the biggest show in wrestling. Ugh.

Nice old school undertaker segment last night. We all know how this match is gonna play out, but I'll be the first to admit that I grin like a damned idiot whenever taker is on the screen.

The Usos vs Rybaxel for the tag titles...son of a bitch.

Ugh. Of all the bad timing. Hope all is well and doesn't squash any possible Wrestlemania plans. Would really love to see Sheamus beat Christian for the IC belt at Mania. That could be a great result for both guys.

I'm not ready to buy Bray Wyatt as a big deal. This seems like a big step down for John Cena (awkward, but I'm not complaining). They're doing a good job of sincerely presenting the feud, though. I really liked the visual of Cena tied up in the ropes with the lambs mask on! That was creepy/cool stuff! (Mask in the mirror was kinda creepy and fun, too).

Undertaker shenanigans were lots of fun. Hope there's more tag team updates to come. If Goldust & Cody Rhodes are firmly implanted in the battle royal, I wouldn't mind Los Matadores adding another face team. Would still rather Real Americans in a 1-on-1, but there are worse outcomes. I like the idea of The Wyatt Clan being restricted to lurking menace, but a 4-way tag title match could be their spot. Ascension aren't for Mania.
