There's a difference in liking little girls and liking little girl shows. One thing doesn't necessarily include the other. For example, I love MLP, but I'm gay and I am sure this isn't a little boy show. ;P

i hate when a fourm dies im here to revive it with (i cant believe im doing this) whats your favorite pony, and what do you hope for in the future of uhhhh >ponyvile????

They're all my favorite. I try and choose, but it's impossible.
I will say Fluttershy, Twilight and Rainbow Dash all remind me of me though.
Future of Ponyville? I hope the CMC get their cutie marks within the show's lifespan instead of leaving us in mystery. We already have an idea of what they could do well at.
Apple Bloom is an excellent carpenter, Sweetie Belle is an awesome singer and Scootaloo looks like she could be the next Rainbow Dash.

I like all of them. But my favorite is Pinkie Pie. She has that dual-state of mind, she is usually happy. But when she is sad, her mane and tail deflate, and her vibrant pink colors turn dull. Kind of like me, in the sense I can be enthusiastic and cheerful, but can also be really calm and quiet.
I agree with J-spit about the wanting to see the CMC's cutie marks being earned within the show's lifespan.
I think Scootaloo's special talent is her proficiency with her scooter. As seen in the Show Stoppers episode, she seems to be quite good with it.

It'll have to be more than just her scooter in the future. Otherwise, how could she or Ponyville really benefit from her talent?
Also, who else thinks Scootaloo is a nickname? It seems oddly specific in that she rides a scooter. I know names hold a certain mirror to the character, but an actual object that they operate? Weird.

Two days ago it came to my attention that Applejack finally got another episode that day (the airing of The Last Roundup), but guess what happened? She was outshined by Derpy.

I don't really know. Perhaps it is because we are a rather small sub-community in MKO. And probably because there isn't much subject for discussion about ponies. We primarily have pony sites for this.

You know how in Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. was being all Robert Downey Jr. except in a big metal suit and with stripper poles in his private jet? You know how in Underworld that guy totally bedded Kate Beckinsale? You know how in Beauty and the Beast Gaston totally kicked the shit out of an entire bar and took a bite out of that motherfucker's leg? You know how in American Pie Jason Biggs saw the delicious apple pie and instead of eating it decided to have sex with it all gyrating and shit?
That's what's it's like being a brony. And it's awesome.

For the record, I have seen and enjoyed Afro Samurai.
This isn't about who the show is meant for, but rather the quality and content it contains. Saying "watch Afro Samurai" seems to suggest that we all enjoy this show and only shows of it's kind, which is simply not the case. Proof is in the fact that this thread exists on MKO, a site dedicated to a game that got it's fame from buckets of blood.
Have you seen the show? What makes it less entertaining than Afro? Is it the lack of blood and tits? Mature content in general? I hope these aren't your answers.
Give it a look and if you can objectively say "this blows", then that's alright, but don't mock it (or berate the fans) because of it's intended audience. I mocked girly drinks until I discovered how tasty a Sex On The Beach was.

Absolutely not, liking this show has nothing to do with your sexuality or your upbringing. Like everything else, it has something to do if it speaks to you as a person and an individual. Some embrace it while others simply do not like it. If you dislike it, then it just doesn't speak to you and there's nothing wrong with that. Take me, for example, I don't find enjoyment in playing shooters or studying cars while others are completely fascinated with those things. That's just because people are different.
What MLP teaches its viewers is that we are all different and that tolerance and acceptance of those who are different leads to a better world. ^^

I was hoping that image would be captioned with "What is this fuckery?".
Anyway, there's nothing to see here. Just us guys who like a TV show that caters to a different audience. In the process, we break some stereotypes and confuse the hell out of people.

Speaking of stereotypes, the main protagonists can easily be put in certain stereotypes, like Twilight being the bookworm, Fluttershy the super-shy animal lover, Rainbow Dash the tomboy competetive type, Pinkie Pie the crazy not-so-smart partygirl, Applejack the hard-working cowgirl and Rarity the fashionable diva. But are there moments where they clearly break out of that stereotype along the series?
If so, please post episode and describe the moment. ^^

How far are you into the episodes?
Hmmm......it depends on what you'd consider "breaking the stereotype". I know Read It and Weep (S2E16) has Rainbow Dash break out of her respective stereotype. She learns about the joy of reading books. Rarity is willing to get covered in mud to make Sweetie Belle happy in Sisterhooves Social (S2E5). Pinkie Pie learns lessons about responsibility in Baby Cakes (S2E13). Fluttershy learns about standing up for herself but takes it a bit too far and breaks her normally shy stereotype in Putting Your Hoof Down (S2E19).
I'm sure there might be other instances, but I can't recall at the moment.

I've seen every episode there is so far, both whole seasons.
