Just saw it earlier. The action parts were awesome. The 3d was pretty sweet too just the story part was kinda boring. My gf fell asleep for a bit lol she thought it wasn't good. Anybody else see it yet? Thoughts?

I have yet to see this movie, but I'm going to in probably 2-3 days.

They took out Megan Fox, Mudflap and Skids, so I pray this one will at least be more decent then the second movie.

Plus they have the addition of Shockwave and my favorite Transformer Soundwave finally roaming the Earth. I'm sure the movie will still be pretty awful, but I guess it's really good in the CGI department.

saw the movie and thought it was awesome, out of all 3 movies this one let me believe that the humans were very capable with dealing with an extra-terrestrial threat. one of my favorite characters was the german guy known as the dutch, and the storyline as well as the characters were not hard to follow through with. given that i had a friend to watch with me and point out the different transformers and what role they played i still had an enjoyable first view of the entire movie. overall i would suggest this movie to all the posters reading this, it had great pace of action and great story development so give it a shot

I thought the first two were great. Yeah, they weren't much on the story side, but I don't always focus in on the story if the movie is about the action. If the action is badass enough, and the story isn't horrible, then that's an awesome movie in my book.

I am planning on seeing this one within a few days, and from what I've seen in the trailers, it should be glorious.

Thought the first two movies were terrible, so i'll probably just wait till it pops up online and watch it then.

I'm probably going to see it Wednesday. From the reviews I've read, most of them state this 3rd movie is the best of the trilogy. I actually happened to like the first two, so I have high hopes for this one.

Saw it today, it was pretty good.

The first half was kind of a hit-and-miss. Too much relationship drama and not enough Decepticon killing. The second half was totally badass, with some really sad moments and crazy plot twists.

Would I watch it again? YES!

Ugh.

Bay despite his promises underdelivers. Sure, less of the dorky comedy thankfully, but..

The whole mess has an acedic story. The action scenes are boring. The novelty has worn off. Shockwave is sporadic and is basically one big zero. Sentinel is token evul on the darkside. Sam is a chewtoy. Wow, Bay is that how you try to make up? Characters are paper mache cutouts.

Yawnfest. Utterly indifferent toward the audience and towards its subject matter. More Bay means less fun. And in conclusion, I think it is only slightly on par with the second, and the best is the first.

But that is like admitting you like strawberry coated shit instead of regular shit on your menu. Not worth it.

I just got back from seeing it, and I thought it was great. It took a little while to get into the action, but when it did, shit got real.

There was nothing you haven't seen before, nothing revolutionary, but I really enjoyed this film and it was well worth the small amount of money it costs.

3/10 I didn't like it. Some parts were improved on (less annoying comedy, you have a better chance at understanding who's who), but there were too many pointless human characters and there was not enough weight to character deaths
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
IRONHIIIIIIIDE!!!!...oh, wait, we're not going to talk about that at all? He got shot in the back by Sentinal...thats a pretty big deal...Ok, fine, moving on....
. It looked great and all, but before we even got to the final battle I was ready to walk out (I stayed because I wanted to see if the final battle would make up for everything. It didn't, in my opinion). As it was said, Shockwave was pretty much pointless. I don't even remember what exactly happens in the end...when you end a Trilogy, you have to make it more memorable. The only highlight to the movie that I can think of is the freeway chase, mostly because it gave the other autobots a chance to shine (and shine they did).

Anyway, I'd personally say that it would be better to rent it when it comes to DVD.
I hated the first two movies but actually found this one somewhat entertaining.

Good action, Ganga (hot girl) and didnt put me to sleep as much as the first two.

But yeah nothing oscar worthy.

So the transformers home planet of cybertron emerging through a giant space bridge and then getting blown up wasnt memorable enough? or Optimus Prime killing Megatron and Sentinal Prime.

I thought the film was too long and while shockwaves worm thing was awesome, I thought he was shockingly under used. Wheelie and brains where lame, no suprise there. The wreckers where pretty crap too.

I am not a Transformers fan to be honest. I only went because it was something to do yesterday before the fireworks down at Navy Pier... which we messed because it went off early... Fuck!

I thought it was okay, I still don't like who they got for Shiloh's girlfriend, she's even more annoying than Megan Fox to be honest.

I love the fact that the nun from Madeline was in it, I like her, dear old Frances.

And the parents never seem to displease me whatsoever with their strange comedic ways.

I just like the ending fight, it was pretty awesome, and the fact that I could tell where they shot the parts in Chicago...

I agree, there are some characters I feel came close to dying and should have died in this film.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Bumblebee to be specific. It would have been a huge moment in the series, and a possible tear jerker. To be honest, I grew teary-eyed when that gun pressed against the back of Bumblebee's head.

I actually just got back from seeing it in 3d. I definitely liked it. Less stupid comedy, but it was still done in a way that it seemed more like an actual live action cartoon.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
I'm disappointed they had Sentinel Prime kill of Ironhide, but then again I think a lot of people would have been even more pissed if they had actually indeed killed off Optimus or even Bumblebee. It also wouldn't have made sense to kill off Ratchet because he has to repair Optimus for the next movie grin

Pretty big TF fan here. I liked the first okay, hated the second. I'd pretty much put this one on a level a slight notch below the first. Severe problems in the pacing department when the first half of a movie is slow buildup and the second is basically a fight scene.

Also:

I really, really wish Shockwave had....done something. Why the hell did they bother to promote him so heavily?

I didn't know scenes from Transformers 3 are from the Island.

And scenes from Transformers 1 are from Pearl Harbor.

I mean, it's almost literally not noticeable.

I don't know what to think.

Oh, Michael Bay.

Ironhide shouldn't have been killed. Severely damaged--I would have been okay with. But killing Prime's oldest friend and not having the clarity of such a heavy moment to have Prime grieve for him? As much as I love how Bay directs, his ADD style is at times a disservice not just to the development of most of the Autobots and Decepticons, but moments where the movie could have benefited more from them.

Yeah, this (and the previous two films) are the standard big blockbuster films that studios just love to push out, but with so much potential to explore the complexities of these characters, the writers provided only just enough of what's needed to limp the story along and provide opportunities for the action scenes. I accepted this from first movie. The second movie... well, there was a writer's strike looming and they needed the script finished quickly and we know how that turned out.

True, I'm asking too much from a machine that this franchise is and from the writer's, though it shouldn't be a stretch for people to want more from them as better fleshed out characters and not just huge hulking robots whose dialogue and motivations are set on auto-pilot just to lead up to one battle scene after another.

Rewatched it again. I loathe it beyond decency.

Shia LaBluff is an impetuant asshole who is having anger management issues, jealousy, and who is basically an asshole to everyone, his GF and most of all to the TFs. When you have a millionaire douchebag womanizer take precedence over Megatron as a villain you fucked up.

Michaael Bay managed to make explosions boring. And seriously, a ONE HOUR LONG "CATHARSIS" in Chicago? F*cking idiot. The robots still look like animated trashheaps on epileptic seizures. Annoying ass tertiary characters with 0 characteristics... uncalled for.

A whiny melodramatic pissant with a Napoleon complex with zero intelligence. That is Sam Witwicky. And let us not get into the robots. Bay lost all credibility as a director. If I could choose, I would rather have Robin Williams as explosion management than this hackjob.

FUCK! RED ALERT!

Skids and Mudflap and co. in all their entirety the responsibility of Aaron Krueger. HE tried to pull the same shit with John Carter (of Mars) movie, and this blockhead is considering a remake of Videofdrome.

God help us all. Because the teens and the generally abortion-worthy theatre of idiots gobble trash like Transformers.
