I do believe though that more humans would side with the autobots IMHO.

Well, let's agree to disagree, but I do see your poing though, about the Decepticons betraying the humans, but maybe they'd keep some around for amusement, you know, as slaves.

Sure man lol, of course. ^^

Yeah, the slave idea could be a possibility but I don't think this will happen anyway most likely lol but it's a good discussion to talk about none the less.

One thing in the next few movies( I heard that supposedly there are two more Transformers given the greenlight for a 3 part trilogy) we already know about the second one now for sure hehe.

But anyway, one thing I really hope to NOT see in any of the future Transformers is this..
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Optimus Prime dying like he did in the animated version, I hated that

Agreed, and dude it's

Prime, not Primal
I corrected that for you. That was about the only thing that pissed me off about the old movie.

Can someone explain why I cannot find the transformers 20th anniversary anime movie? After seeing the actual movie 3 times (i know geek) i did work for geek squad by the way and still am a geek... sorry off main subject..

After seeing the live action movie which in my opinion is better than spider-man 3 and fanatatic four 2 put together, I wanted to see the animated movied becuase I heard it was just as great.

But when I search the stores and online they out... when I didnt want to buy it they had it... but now that I do want it its out of stock.

Whats up with that?

It was apparently pulled from shelves, as supposedly, the Sony subsidiary that released it folded, and the rights are now up in the air.

Wow. Considering I thought that the movie was full of crap when I watched it for the first time (during the Christmas holidays, as I never saw Transformers beyond season 2), I'm now actually glad I bought it when I did.

That's interesting, I can still find it in stores in Canada. Did you try E-bay, or Amazon?

That's not the movie, it's the tv show that the Sony subsidiary owned. I believe the 20th anniversary movie came out on a seperate distributer, I own it, so I can check to confirm, but I do know that the rights to the show are what's up in the air. According to tvshowsondvd.com, there's a slim chance that another Sony subsidiary might pick up the rights owned by the one that folded.

No, I'm referring to the Sony release of the movie, not the Rhino release of the movie+G1 series that came out a few years ago on DVD.

Supposedly, this is still speculation, but here is a snippet of info I read regarding it

From Allspark.com's July 10th post:

"A new member of the 2005Boards has posted some potentially alarming news concerning the 20th Anniversary DVD rerelease of Transformers: The Movie. TorchwoodPrime states in his post that he is a Best Buy employee and that his store received instructions to pull all remaining copies of the 20th anniversary DVD off of the shelves. The speculation is that Best Buy as a whole is no longer allowed or willing to sell the animated movie.

No telling what the ultimate implications of this are, but it could mean that the excellent release we saw last year will be very hard to find soon.

Remember, at this time, this should be considered unsubstantiated; Sony BMG, the distributor of the 20th Anniversary DVD, has indeed not gone out of business; however, the Sony Wonder arm of BMG was reorganized into the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment branch of the corporation earlier this year. This may be effecting the rights and clearances for Sony Wonder's previous properties."

I can still find it in stores where I live, so maybe it's just Best Buy that can't sell it any more cause they're a bunch of idiots! If you want it bad enough, there are ways to get it, like online.

It's both actually, but not used in the current movie or older shows as much it is used however in BW and BM.

For the current movie, they don't use the term "Primal" but for Beast Wars and Beast Machines he also goes by the name Optimus Primal besides Optimus Prime or Optimus or just Prime for short.

Listen to Megatron carefully in those shows, you'll see what I'm talking about. In several episodes he calls him Optimus Primal. Second episode of Beast Machines(among others) Meg's also refers to Optimus as Optimus Primal.

Well, there's a store called CD Plus, that still has it, it's only in Canada, but you could order off of their site, or try HMV, or Amazon.

Huh? Really? I never noticed that! So Optimus Prime and Primal are one in the same? How then, in the last season of Beast Wars, does Primal make it sound like they're different? confused

All I know is that is that in Beast Wars and Beast Machines, his (Optimus Prime also called Primal the monkey) decendant is called both thru out the series by some of the Predacons or Megatron several times. Megatron mainly.

If you want to get really techincal, he's also called at one point Optimal Optimus when he merges his spark with the original in the end of season two Beast Wars. ; )

I'll see if I can find a link with Meg saying it sometime but I know he calls him Primal quite a few times in the BW/BM series.

Prime is obviously the original Optimus name take from the 80's and current movie.

To geek what do you mean by sound different? Voice wise or character wise? They are two separate characters but the Optimus from the BW and BM series is the decendant of the Original Optimus.

Jerrod, what about the 86 movie didn't you like. (Obviously, all of it.) But tell me why exactly you don't like it. I mean, you have to keep in mind that the movie was originally made so that the company could close out their '86 toy line. It was the same thing with the G.I. Joe movie as well.

Funny thing is, They wanted to kill Duke in G.I. Joe the movie as well after the toy company heard what they did with Optimus. They almost insisted on them going that way, but after seeing fan's reaction and all the crying about Optimus's death, they opted to put Duke into a coma instead.
i know its hard to compare but would anybody think that this new TF movie is better than the entire original G1 series of TF?

This is definitely one of those movies to go see at the theaters with awsome special effects, kick-ass sound effects /theater surround sound.

You just wont have the same experience watching this movie at home unless you have one of those gigantic projections, and an amzingly kick-ass surround sound system.

And this movie has a ton of action in it, (obviously since it's Transformers) and there's even some comedy thrown in every once in a while. Like that part when that dude was trying to get the Transformers to STFU because they were being all loud and breaking shit, and his mom was like "Son, are you masturbaiting?"

Fuck, that moment was pure movie gold, it don't get any better than that whole sequence, the theater crowd and myself, couldn't stop laughing! grin

Going to see it again with a grl I know this upcoming week.

The Autobots arrival - specifically the musical buildup to their introduction - makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end...it's that fucking sweet.

I really wish that they would've included the original theme from the 80s movie, either as it was then, or a re-mix, that them was bitchin' and, imo, the thing that was truely missing from this movie.

Ehh, I was actually happy they didn't in a way. They still used the oldschool tranformer sounds for that first transforming scene in the dessert, if you listen closely they mix it in there a nice touch.grin

Also, I don't know if this is true or not since I didn't stay to watch the whole end credits but I heard a rumor that they do play the song sometime in the credits, not the beginning though. I don't know if this is true or not though.

Nope, it's in no way involved in the movie (and I know this cause I sat through the whole credits!) which, like I said is a shame really. And I caught that "transformer" sound, it was great to hear that again, too bad it wasn't used often
