I thought the movie was awesome(especially the song they used for the end credits) but the only thing I didn't like was how they mixed Hugo Weaving's voice for Megatron...it just sounded....fake. I admit to have never seen an episode of the original TF series, but from clips of it that I've seen online as well as some of the dialog in the movie-based game, I'd gladly have taken Welker over Weaving for Megatron. Hell even the guy who covered as Megatron from Beast wars to Cybertron would've done better.

Oh, I agree, any one of them would've been a better choice to voice Megatron, but if neither wanted to do it, I guess, you take what you get. Thank god, the original voice of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen, decided to do it.

I saw this and die hard twice... over all i gotta say transformers was overrated. i mean its funny as hell but its no more then american pie + robots w/ cheesy visiuals by Bay. 1st time i thought it was ok 2nd time it just draged on...
Did anyone see a weird trailer about this movie that is about to come out in the near future? It showed people having a party in this guy's house, and all of the people there would mention this guys name(I forgot what name was it, but it doesn't really matter) and then they would hear a weird noise then the whole world would shake. They turn on the TV and saw news, which the news thought that it was a earthquake. When they came outside of the room then into the streets they saw this orange, fiery, portal thingy that would shoot out huge boulders. In the end of the trailer they never told us the name out the movie. Btw after I saw this trailer, I was just confused beyond recognition
.
(If I describe this trailer pretty wierd, with either improper grammer or anything similar...it's because I'm sick right now XD)

Hugo did an alright job, personally as I've said before Welker or David Kaye(meg from BW and BM) would have done better or just as good IMO.
BTW, the camaro owns!!

The Camaro does own!
And that trailer S3ktor was talking about, yeah that was really weird and very interesting. A couple of names have been thrown out there. Some people say a new Godzilla, Jurassic Park 4, but what I think it is, a brand new movie idea that we aren't suppose to know about yet... or... Voltron! You can hear roars, a girl says it looks like a giant lion, it's roaring. That's what I'm guessing.

Yeah, that was probably one of the best teasers I have ever seen. It accomplished what a teaser is suppose to do: tease you and catch your attention.
I also have to agree with the guy that said the Transformers movie is oveerrated. It's a fun movie, but honestly, it's not worth watching more than once. The movie was way too cheezy for me, but it's a summer movie, so that's to be expected. I really didnt appreciate the humor in the movie either. I was hoping they would go for a more serious approach with the movie.
Also, 'm still pissed that no human died in the final battle. A epic battle is going on between 2 rival robot races, and not even one human shed's a drop of blood? That's just fucking impossible. Okey, maybe some did, but they didnt show it. Argh, i hate PG movies.

Saw it last night. It was amazing. Definitely brought back memories from my childhood, I was a huge TF fan from back in the day. Optimus owns. I will definitely get it on dvd when it comes out. I'd say this is one of the best action movies I've seen.

I also saw that trailer. The guy's name was Mark. I think it's a trailer for 10.8 (that was a dumb movie on NBC. It was about a mega-earthquake.).
The movie was kickass! Way better than any Pirates movie!

I'm sorry to say I missed that trailor!
As for some of you who said that the movie was too long and overrated, you obviously were never Transformers fans were you? Come on, be honest! What Transformers fan in their right mind wouldn't want to see that movie again and again? And BTW, yes the Camaro does pwn!

I'm sure someone died, the difference is this is a PG13, not rated R movie
As far as humans dying, remember the beginning when the decepticon killed everyone except the survivors in the desert.
Honestly, Spider-man 3 was MUCH, MUCH more overrated then this movie.
At least with this one, it's the very first REAL Transformers movie therefore there's that automatic hype, second the storyline and transformers were kept original enough to please most of the oldschool fans.
You'll always find those fans that bitch, bitch, bitch no matter what it is. MK, Spider-man, Transformers, Terminator whatever...always something someone will gripe about, however in this case the positives totally outweigh the negatives easily. That's what counts.

Spiderman 3 Overrated? Wow man, that's harsh..LOL!
But I agree though with what you said, let the "fans" bitch all they want, but us "true fans" will still like it no matter what

I might edit this in to a huge review later, but I do just want to say for now that I saw it today, and everything was excellent: The Autobots' personalities, The C.G.I., the acting, everything was fucking awesome. I loved it. =D/.

It was because of the pre opening, at least here in the states not sure about the rest of the world. It has premeires all over, openings in multiple theatres in the one near me which is huge, it was playing in like 6 of them which is a lot for one movie.
They played shows literally all day and all night into 2 and 3 am.
It was overrated, then when half the fans didn't like it(still trying to figure that out) that shocked me even more. So, what I'm saying more or less is that the movie's "hype" was definitely overrated and overdone but the movie wasn't NEARLY as bad as some fans made it out to be. I mean it's the same storyline from the first two only finally finished, the reason nobody liked it was because Venom wasn't big enough or he got killed...not for nothing but that's kind of lame to hate on the movie where there's other key plotlines in it.
I mean I understand that any popular comic book character movie is big, but Spider-man 3 was soo over done and I think that's why some fans weren't pleased with it. They showed too much prior to it's release and some perfectionist fans had the expection of a "perfect" movie. No movie is perfect but it was far from a horrible film.
Transformers however IMHO was better though.
When I went to go see Transformers, the night before I wanted to go at 10:30 at night, the movie theatre told me last show was at 10:30 PM I was like what??!?!? Spider-man had shows til 2 freaking am, yet a movie just as anticipated if not more only til 10:30? WOW, that was my reaction but none the less I saw it the next day.
I'm definitely going to see it again.

See I hate when you "group" people together with you like that. It's make you sound well, a little like an ass.
Any way, my take on Transformers and Spiderman 3, is if you go into the movies with lower expectations than yeah, you'll think it sucks, but if you're smart and don't let all the "hype" get to you and go into the movies with an open mind, like myself, it makes it a more enjoyable experience, and chances are you might just like the movies alot more. Just my take.

I wasn't all that impressed with Transformers. It starts off interestingly enough, then it drags on for an hour, has a nice big fight, and then roll credits. Frenzy was easily the best part about the movie. My biggest gripe, however, is the lack of Starscream being a treacherous little bastard, not to mention almost zero development on the part of the Decepticons at all.

Yeah, I would've liked more on the Decepticons, as well as the Transformers in general. However, you have to keep in mind that this movie is told mainly from a more human point of view, which does make sense to me in order to give importance to some of the human characters and make a grounded story.

Screw the humans, I'm here for giant robots.

Maybe they'll fix that for the sequel. Tell the story from the Transformers point of view, give more of an origin story

Yeah, seriously they had to do it this way. If they concentrated on just the Transformers it would have been worse because then you would have fans like me asking umm why aren't the humans more involved when they are afterall on earth, not cybertron
Anyway, btw I also wondered a little bit about Starscream not getting more involved however then I thought remember the cartoons? Where he was plotting against Megatron all the time, am I the only one here who noticed that Starscream..
I think StarScream will have a much larger role in the next movie no doubt in my mind.
BTW, there were more decepticons in this movie then autobots.
Also, rumor has it that either

Well, that would be sweet, but I wouldn't write off ole Megatron just yet, I think he might be back if there's a sequel, just my guess.
Never really was a Transformers fan, I watched afew episodes of Beast Wars. The only 2 transformers I knew about was Optimus Prime and Megatron so I had no idea what I was going to see. To me the movie fucking rocked, the whole fight in the city was crazy and the movie made Bumble Bee my favorite Transformer, I love the car freshener in his car that says Bee-Otch on it and through the whole movie I wanted to hear him talk. Was Bumble Bee in the cartoon?

I kind of thought of Frenzy as a fill in for soundwave in this movie. As for the Dinobots, as cool as it would be I don't see it happening. I could defnetly see the Contrsuctacons, and hotrod showing up in the next movie though.
Megatron will most likely be in the next movie. I thought if you watch some of the scenes after the credits they show starscream flying around still. I'm thinking the next movie will probably go something like this: starscream pulls megatron out of the water, trys to flye him back to Cybertron for repairs (like the animated movie), but then decideds to ditch him in which case megatron runs into Unicron (probably not going to happen but just wishing right now), in which case Megatron gets transforformed into Galvatron.
Just a question though. Can anyone explain to me exactly how Megatron dies? I really didn't get that scene one bit. He was after the allspark, and tried to suck it into his cheast while Sam was trying to keep it from him, then Megatron just ups's and dies from it
