Or underrated games that deserve a sequel.

My list

The Lost Vikings
Geist
Clayfighter
Dino Crisis
Blood (an FPS series)
Redneck Rampage (another FPS game)
Quantum Redshift (racing game for the X-Box)
Wet
Boogerman
Perfect Dark
Predator: Concrete Jungle

The list could go on, so I'll leave it at that for now, and conclude with Thrill Kill, that didn't even get to be released. Not only should it be released, whether as it was (I don't care how dated it'd look) or as an "updated" remake (with hopefully more than just better graphics), it deserves to become a franchise.

^ You win just for the simple mention of Clayfighter.

One series I always thought would've been awesome was The Suffering. Truly one of the most underrated horror games of its generation, if not overall of its generation.

Not only was it atmospheric, it was also damn fun topped with a great setting, story and decisions that affected the next game (something done before Mass Effect.)

Its a shame there was never a third. Maybe a future project for Netherrealm?

I thought about The Suffering as well, and I agree with you.

Another Midway IP that deserves a sequel is Mace: The Dark Ages. Does NRS own the copyrights to those games, by any chance?

While I already mentioned it, it bears another mention: Geist. One of the most unique games I've ever played. The ghost gameplay mechanics were well done, and I liked how you could possess anything ranging from humans, animals, and even innanimate objects like fans and TVs. It also clearly felt like a M-rated Nintendo game, which I found fascinating. The atmosphere, the graphics, just had a very Nintendo-ish vibe to them.

To add one more series, Fighting Vipers. Though to be frank, I'm more interested in some of the characters, like Grace, than a revival of the whole series. Imo, it's most interesting characters should be transfered to the Virtua Fighter series, the same way Final Fight characters became a part of the Street Fighter canon.

Always wanted to try Geist, but I could never find it anywhere.

As for Midway IP's, I'm not really sure what WB owns. I just assumed they got the rights to the entire catalogue when they made the purchase.

It is a source of eternal sadness for me that Tim Schafer is far too poor at managing money for there to ever be a Brutal Legend 2.

Also, I wish DmC had caught on more, or that it and original Devil May Cry could somehow co-exist as ongoing series so that fans of old Dante wouldn't hate the reboot so much just for existing.

Turok.

They tried to resurrect the series, but they strayed away from the actual story and did something completely different that literally killed the series. I refuse to even consider the latest Turok to be called Turok. An insult to what was an awesome series back for the Nintendo 64.

Thank goodness I still own the entire franchise for that system.

Perfect Dark is underrated? If you're talking about the Xbox 360 iteration, I might agree, but the N64 game is widely considered one of the best on that system. Or is this more of a "dead franchises is like to see return" thread? No big deal either way, I was just curious.

Anyways, my list of underrated games if like to see get a sequel are as follows:

-Lost Odyssey (Xbox 360)
-EA's Strike series (Desert, Jungle, Urban, Soviet, Nuclear)
-Legacy of Kain series
-Golden Axe
-Streets of Rage
-D
-Shining Force
-Panzer Dragoon
-Eternal Champions
-Tao Feng
-Mace: The Dark Age
-Loaded
-Battle Arena Toshinden
-Kameo: Elements of Power
-Herc's Adventures
-Maximo
-Pandamonium
-Evil Twin: Cyprien's Chronicles
-Kakuto Chojin

Eh, that's all I've got at the moment. More to follow. smile

Legacy of Kain does not need any more installments. That story is complete as it is.

Also, OP wins the internet for mentioning Boogerman and Blood.

@Icebaby
Oh yeah, Turok. I agree with you about the last game.

Probably one of the only VG series starring Native Americans in the leading roles, including a woman in the third game, which was underrated, and personally, I prefered it to the second game. A mention of Turok would be incomplete without mentioning one of the greatest weapons in FPS history: the Cerebral Bore!

@Baraka407
Yeah, I brought up Perfect Dark because it can be considered a dead series nowadays.

On the subject of Rare properties, here's another game that should have had a sequel already: Conker's Bad Fur Day.

A few more that came to mind

MDK
Blasto
Extreme G
Waverace
Primal (for the PS2)
Primal Rage
Velvet Assassin
Bullet Witch

Agreed.

The ending of Defiance pretty much says "no more, we're done here."

Plus, having another without the brilliant Tony Jay wouldn't be the same. And I doubt there's another voice actor out there that can match up with his beautiful voice.

I'm in love with his voice, I can't help it.

Lost Kingdoms (gamecube)- Real time, monster summoning, card battle game. Awesomes.

Cell Damage- Vehicular combat game with cartoon physics and aesthetics.

The 3D pokemon games (Colosseum and XD) I thought they supplemented the GBA games perfectly it was also cool that you could get all gen 2 starters, the 3 legendary dogs Ho-oh and Lugia and then trade them to your handheld, although the Pokemon found in XD seemed much less relevant.

Okami. The reasons for its absence are somewhat justified (though the game's marketing was questionable), but it's one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. I'd be sad if we never saw another installment.

What about Primal Rage and that cancelled sequel game? It used to be owned by Midway after all...

I know that Legacy of Kain got it's ending. I also know that I shouldn't want them to simply run the series in to the ground with more needless sequels or slap it's name on some hackneyed reboot with different characters or worse, the same characters, but without the team that made it what it was way back when. Without Amy Hennig or Tony Jay.

I know this... And yet...

Me too. Capcom's financial situation may have sealed the fate of Okami. RE7 needs to be good if Capcom wants to survive the next 3 years. That company can't afford any more loses.
