Okay so i watch this guy on youtube and he has been getting shit from WB from being banned from twitter etc and i think its horrible what WB are doing! They need to understand that they need all the fansites they can get.And hearing the things he does for WB and what he gets back in return just annoys me and makes me hate WB even more than i already did.
All the fan sites were dealt with the same way he was. He started bitchen , insulting and just keep saying bad things ever since the WB decided to stop giving exclusives.
I respect Luke , I love his movies but maybe it is time to move on with his live.

Serves him right. Sure the fansites could've gotten more, but WB are a big company and probably did what they thought was best for MK.

So tell me how do you think that this was a good thing to happen?!

I never liked him and he didn't have be a dick about getting exclusives. That(ose) rant video(s) were pathetic. The other webmasters didn't make such a fuss about it, and he didn't.
I remember some of his rants, not a fan, but whatever, I can at least understand why he's frustrated in his recent video but meh. Oh and according to that video, he wasn't banned from Twitter, they just blocked him or something, I'm a bit confused, I don't know how Twitter works. Thanks for sharing.

When you block someone, they can't follow you, and if you report a person for spam, their tweets are no longer in your mentions. Reporting them for spam blocks them also.

Yeah but this thread has nothing to do with what capcom does.
Guessing TMK doesn't understand how business works.
WB is trying to get the most profit out of the game and they won't get that by only supporting the fansites. Almost every die-hard MK-fan has bought Mortal Kombat games in the past and that wasn't enough for Midway to survive, so they need a bigger audience.
First they needed the gamesites posting news again, because the gamesites that I have been visiting posted nothing of the 3D MK games(even though I sent PMs containing news). Only a little bit of MKvsDCU but that's it.
Maybe they neglected the fansites a little bit, but they really needed that big audience to buy the game.
Lol @ TMK calling WB racists. I think the word he is looking for is discrimination.

What ffabioo is trying to point out is that this is not uncommon from big-name gaming companies. Lets face it - slander on the internet is becoming more and more effective when used against any type of entertainment media. A rant from one person can spark a huge tidal wave of backlash towards whatever is being ranted about. Companies like Warner Bros. and Capcom don't want that hurting not only their sales, but their reputations. (though honestly, Capcom's doing a good job of shooting themselves in the foot recently)
I would say this is an extreme case on the part of both parties. While this guy's complaining seems outrageously overblown and dramatized, WB going so far as to literally silence him is equally over-the-top.
My opinion, of course.

Warner Bros. doesn't need jack. They are a huge company that owns the rights to several high profile movies, games and shows. Who really cares if some guy is pissed off at them, for whatever reason.
MK sold very well, and some pissed off fansite owner won't change the likelihood of a sequel.

TMK has been in the community forever. Some people like him. Others don't. He's always been nice to me, and until that changes, I don't have a problem with the guy.
As for the fansites? I don't like the idea of fansites being treated differently, but WB is a company, and there is no real obligation for them to be fair. MK has always been fueled by casual gamers, and a strike from a hardcore fan isn't going to do anything.

Moving this to General Discussion, since this focuses on WB and TMK, not MK '11 directly.
Anyway, I can understand Total's issue with the whole thing; MK's always had more of a cult-following since MK4, and the new games didn't help bring it back to the top like it was when it was first released in '92. When news of Deadly Alliance came out, a lot of fan sites did as well, and Midway helped cater to them because they knew that no matter what, the loyal fans would keep the game alive; therefore, keep Midway alive.
And they were right to pander to us; we got more games with less wait time in between installments, and though the quality became poorer and poorer, the games still sold relatively well because of the fans... Then Midway went bankrupt and MK was considered a joke because of the numerous glitches and problems with each game came. Even the MK communities saw that there were some big problems in some of them (infinite combos, exploitable glitches in matches).
Now that WB had control of the company, they had tighter reins on MK and how the franchise would be marketed. Sure, MKO, TMK, Kamidogu, WE know of those sites because we're fans of this series; however, the rest of the world doesn't give a flying fuck about us, and Warner Bros knows that. People tend to go to one huge gaming site for news, not hundreds of others to get all the info they need on their favourite franchises, and MK is no exception.
So they went to bigger names and websites that pandered to audiences ten times the size of MKO. They wanted to get more than MK fans to buy the game; as far as they were concerned, we'd buy it anyway, and they were right. But they needed to convince the Street Fighter fan that MK's just as good too, and the Portal player, and those level 80 WoW players, and that poor guy who only has a Wii. There's a reason that MK games don't go to Nintendo consoles anymore, at least not until they know for sure that the effort it takes to port the game will net more than the cost. With that being said, we don't see Satoru Iwata calling Warner Bros "racist" either, even though they wouldn't because race has nothing to do with it. Surely Total-MK has to understand something about business, right? Then again, his actions and rants don't indicate that... But more on the business end later.
Netherrealm Studios are a bunch of great guys, but they no longer have the ability to give us teasers like they used to, short of some random fruit-inspired tweets and such. We can't smack Ed Boon for that because it's not his fault. The man is there to work, put food on his table, and have fun with his creation, and that's how people need to look at it. They have to bite their tongues from spreading out crucial info without WB's consent, otherwise we get more leaks than an idiot using a sifter for an umbrella in a rain storm.
It does suck hard that Australia went the extra mile to keep MK from its shores for so long, but that is not WB's fault, nor is it Total-MK's. He was just a victim of circumstance, and though he has every right to be angry, he shouldn't be expecting the WB to take him back either if he's going to pester and annoy them. If there was anyone he should have fought against on the whole thing, it should not have been Warner Bros, but Australia's archaic rating system. That would have shown more strength and determination than his going to E3 to see the game. Props to him for taking the chance, but he picked his battle and lost.
From a business standpoint, WB had nothing to lose by cutting out TMK. He's facing the consequences of his actions, and he's going to have to learn from them. Maybe now that MK is allowed in Australia, things will change, but with that being said, it's up to the Australian fan base to rise up and let somebody know that MK is a game that deserves to be played. Who that somebody is, I haven't a clue (it's the reason why I never get uprisings started here), but regardless, Total's going to have to sit it out anyway.

I'm not fond of the man at all, so I've no sympathy for him. Having been on TMK before in my own opinion he comes across as foul mouthed, hot headed, bigotted and egocentric man with a very irritable personality. I'm not here to bash him but the man does have a bit of a God Complex and I'm not surprised WB have clipped his feathers a little bit with the attitude he's displayed towards them. I get that he's made a notable contribution to the community over the years but the man needs to get over himself.

I listened to some of what he was saying, and to be honest I think he's full of bullshit. I reminder a few years ago there was trouble on this this forum with various member from TRMK, and they where making a big deal about some stuff, and TRMK turned around and actually blocked MKO users from accessing, or even registering with their site.
His main complaint is that he's bitching that other MK fan sites are getting more media, and exclusives, etc? Well the more mainstream game sites like IGN & gamespot get more content than the fan sites as it is, and TRMK is notorious for posting leaks, and other content that either falls under the media blackouts, or is content exclusive to other websites, so I honestly don't blame WB for blacklisting him.
Also he's complaining that there discriminating against him because he's Australian? Well last time I checked MK is still banned in AU, so it makes sense for WB or NRS to to not even bother spending any money on marketing the game in the country for the time being. It's entirely a business move. No business is going to go and spend money marketing their product in a territory where said product is currently banned from sale.
Dude needs to get his head out of his ass IMO.
[edit]: Also it's not that his accounts with facebook, or twitter where deleted, he was simply blocked from contacting WB & NRS. He's like a kid on Halloween, complaining that a particular house didn't give him as much candy as the other kids. Guess what? WB doesn't have to give any of the site anything. He thinks he's simply entitled to content that other sites got. Arguing with WB over it obviously didn't make things any better. That's like arguing with a cop over a speeding ticket.
