Did you mean TMK or TRMK, because as far as I know, TRMK and MKO have always been on good terms.

I may have gotten the sites mixed up, I'm not entirely familiar with the other MK sites.

As far as I know with blocking the site, the site was restricting access to content to only registered members, and they where blocking certain IP addresses associated with MKO members from registering with their site, or viewing content.

While I have nothing against Luke. I do think he's being greedy to an extent. WB doesn't have to give fan sites anything, its the risk a fan takes when making a site of something he or she loves. And him ranting and complaining about WB isn't going to help his case, specially when he makes them public on the internet. Do I understand why he is upset? Sure, but he needs to realize that, WB has no contract with him and and there for, if he gets anything at all, he should be thankful.

At any rate, I side with WB with this issue with him.

He talks about them being so unprofessional, but I really hope he realizes that the video he just made is also being unprofessional and is not the way to go about resolving any issues that he has with Warner Bros or their PR.

That's very true. He kept saying that other fan sites didn't have guts to say what he was saying, but I find it more likely that they wanted to maintain positive relationships with WB off. Bringing the viewers into it is only going to piss WB, who again, has no legal or even moral obligation to give the sites anything.
Nonetheless, I still think it was unwise for them to completely neglect the fan sites. I certainly don't think that's what Boon wanted.

I'm not familiar with this, but from what majority of you guys are saying, no one should really care about this guy's banned issue from WB, right? That because bigger websites than Total are getting more exclusives, while this site was showing off the leaks and that, that there's really no sympathy right? That's where I'm getting this at.

All right, before I go any further, I want to make it clear: what I'm about to say is my own opinion. It is not meant to reflect the opinions of anyone else on the staff here, and it is NOT the official opinion of MK Online.

That said, there is an old saying that Total-MK needs to learn:

"It could be that the one constant of all of your failed relationships is you."

You'll notice that he's not here to defend himself. That's because, as kingjolly has already noted, he's banned from MK Online's forums and chat channel. The reason is simple: if you've angered him, disagreed with him, or made him feel like he was "wrong", he will do anything and everything he can to try and one-up you, including rules lawyering, insults, outright fabrications, and others. He even went as far as to crop our watermark out of an exclusive image we got once and claim he received it too. (And let's not get into when he took a picture of himself holding a katana, captioning it "KILL SCOTT"...)

It doesn't help that he has a much-inflated sense of his own site's importance. Not trying to insult him, mind... but it's kind of silly when he's trying to state his site is the top MK website when search engines don't put him anywhere near as high as places like MK Online, TRMK, and others.

In the end, I personally don't believe it was WB being prejudiced against Australians, especially as Kamidogu is still in their good graces. I'm willing to bet Total-MK went off against the wrong people, convinced he was right, and pissed off someone high enough where they decided putting up with his shit wasn't worth it.

Not having watched the video, I bet he blamed everyone for what happened except the one person who needed to be blamed: himself.

Watching even more of it, he goes on to say that he was the only MK fan site covering the game at this past years E3 . Saying there where no american site there covering it, and complain about the cost to him, and his dedication to the series to have flown from AU to cover the game on a hunch that the game was going to be there.

He really does have an over inflated sense of his own site.

Yeah it wasn't us a TRMK, I have no beef with MKO or their users or anything else. People often confuse TMK and TRMK.

Yeah, you pretty much summarized the video. He goes on and on about how important he is, asks his viewers to contact Warner Bros about this grand injustice, and makes it seem like his site suffered the most just because he's Australian. "Pity me, pity me, for I am the mightiest to have fallen from these hard times."
ALL the fan sites, despite still being in pretty good graces with WB have suffered. ALL of the fan sites have received very few exclusives, and have had to work extra hard to get anything that stood out from IGN and the other big websites. And where does everyone think those prizes we give out for stuff like the KAK competition come from? It's not all given to MKO, you know.

Yeah, sorry about that. I actually just took a look at both sites, and it was Total MK's site that was blocking users, not TRMK. Sorry for mixing the two sites up.

I remember back when Midway Boards was still on how TMK ranted every once in a while in there about petty things like the exclusivities. What fascinates me, is that this topic of discussion is basically about a Mortal Kombat fan despite the topic title may indicate otherwise. However, Luke is the only one guilty to his doings.
Luke is going crazy with his TMK vs. WB fights, he should really take a break for the good of himself. Mortal Kombat is consuming him because he could grow up a little, he could also put his time in studying business economics so he could understand the motives of WB and its business plans.

It's pretty evident at this point after reviewing his previous videos and his behavior in many of them, that he isn't quite clear on what professionalism is and doesn't know how to deal with other people properly.


More importantly, I think he should take a step back and objectively look at how he's carrying himself and conducting himself with WB and perhaps people in general.

I think that's the problem - he seems not to be able to look at things objectively. I've found people with that sort of personality rarely know enough to take a look at themselves and how their actions might be affecting things as a whole, and rather have convinced themselves that they are in some way always the injured party. It's an ego and self-importance issue that largely goes unchanged unless something extreme happens, or the person simply grows out of it.

It's unfortunate, since it's also nearly impossible for the party to realize how bad they make themselves look.

Check his website out now and you'll see for yourself what his forums are like, for one so mighty. There's more life in the Wastelands of Outworld for god's sake, and the site is riddled with spam. His last news update was about the announcement of the Kollector's Edition strategy guide. Does that not speak volumes about what kind of website he's running

For someone who feels he's such an established, respectable name in the community, he completely missed the buzz with this game and let whatever members he had got on his website down big time. He's let his ego and his own self importance get in the way of his passion and appreciation for the franchise. WB, NRS and even the rest of the MK community owe him absolutely nothing for it.

By the looks of things he's a laughing stock in the MK community, and rightly so. If your going to act like a pompous goon don't be too shocked when people treat you like one.

I read his reply to DarqueBishop on that Youtube vid, and I have to call bullshit on his claim that his channel is more popular than MKO and TRMK. Yeah, he has a lot of subscribers, but that's an accumulation of his total time being on Youtube. Meanwhile, MKO has a couple hundred different people come here per day, and that's just people who have accounts here and not counting actual traffic. Saying he's more popular based on accumulated views and subscriptions overall doesn't compare to MKO's traffic DAILY.

Not to mention MKO is currently #5 in the Google search for "Mortal Kombat", which is based on traffic and keyword searches. If that doesn't speak volumes I don't know what does.

He's full of crap. I wanted to be a bit more unbiased about it, but after hearing him and reading his backlash comments, I can say with certainty he's full of bullshit.

I'm a casual fan of his reviews but I have to say, he lost some respect points. Inflated Ego much?

But I'm an MKO member and Luke never blocked my access to his site. Also, if he really discriminates against MKO members, then how did I win the grand prize of the Prima Games Kompetition he ran a few months ago?
