What do you really think about 50 cent?
seriously, rap is just a fashion statement and to show off how rich you are and to show off all youre flashy jewlary. i hate rap, its just a fad n it really bugs the hell outta me b/c its always on mtv, so i watch fuse : ) i dont like 50, just dont, he wears these big chains with spinning things on it, i mean, do u really need it, look at rock bands you dont see any of them with all that, i mean wen u get that kinda money u buy a house, not a chain

That's your opinion and thats cool. But 'rap' has been around since the early 80's. It's not a fad. Or it would have surely died out by now.
But on topic..I liked 50 but he got played out real quick.

NeoScorpion Wrote: I had heard fifty cent and the G-unit before they came out with Dre. They had one hit called "got me a bottle" other than that they had a few appearances on like Juvenile songs and such... but rap for me was going through a slump until Fifty came out, he was hard core, he had delivery, hooks, a slurr to his voice and Eminems support... There was only ONE song that had Dre's beat and it was "If I can't". The man has street cred, he has been strugglin' and has enough lyrical power to bring down the ENTIRE Murder INC lable save Ashanti... Listen to some of his real songs like: Paitiently waiting Back Down Bloodhound If I can't Many Men What Up gangsta? and those all from Get rich or die tryin'... So just Get Off Fifty cent, He is a Tupac like Rapper cuz he is telling his story, for me he's up there with the likes like Em DMX and Mos Def... Although i don't like the soft core attitude he's taking by singing with Joe and what Not... |
Damn Right! I agree with u 100%. Even though Em is my #1 rapper, Fifty aint too bad himself. I think he's WAY better than that punk ass Ja. The songs underlined r the truth! As for the rest of yall, y so much hatred to Fifty? Or for that matter, to rap? Hhmmm...? Just because yall can't relate to it or understand it doesn't mean yall have to stock up so much animosity towards it. Damn.
Obie Trice...D12...G-unit...Fifty Cent......Hallie Jade!!! lol (Green Lantern 2nd Invasion: #7-> listen to it)

50 Cent hasn't realyy brought anything lasting to hip hop in my opinion. I see The Neptunes, Mos Def, Talib Kalwei(sp?), Nas, Black Eyed Peas, and others contributing more in the future.
I admit that he does have potential, but it's not being put towards anything new that is actually from his perspective. Whether it's in a hardcore style or not, he has a voice that can reach others. DMX for example has put so much of himself, his true emotions and feelings in every album he's put out. That's what stands out from the mire of what's the industry puts out to sell units. The whole 'status' aspect of a lot of artists use is industry driven for the most part. It's too bad that every one is trying to be something other than who they are.
Oh! And Ja Rule friggin sucks!!! Ashanti needs to leave The Inc. and get with a label and producer that won't have her singing the same style of songs! She's a fantastic artist.

Sadly, Nas is about to 'retire' from the rap game as well. :(
ps - add Mos Def and KRS-One to ur list, they speak about how to help the community and what is wrong and what needs fixed and they say screw rapping bout bling and stuff.
Mos Def's 'latest' song to be played a lot is 'Beef'. Over the late B.I.G.'s beat for 'Beef' (Biggie - 'What's beef? Beef is when u need two gats to go to sleep, Beef is when ya moms ain't safe up in the streets'), but his is about what 'Beef' really is. for example;
Mos Def - 'Beef is not what Jay(Z) said to Nas,
Beef is when working folks can't find jobs,
So they try and find nigga's to rob,
Tryin to find bigger guns to finish jobs,
Beef is when the crack babies can't find moms
Cause they in a pine box,
Or locked behind bars,
Beef ain't the Summer Jam for HOT97,
Beef is the cocaine and AIDS epidemic,
Beef don't come with a radio edit,
Beef is when the judge is callin u defendent, Beef it comes with a long jail sentence,
Handed down to you in a few short minutes,
Beef is when ur girl come thru for a visit to tell u how she pregenant by some other nigga, Beef is high blood pressure and bad credit,
Need a loan for ya home but u too broke to get it..'

I did put Mos Def on my list. But you're right about KRS-One. Talk about a guy that goes straight to the core of a persons mind. Didn't he just put out an album or is about to?
And I gotta 'cop' that new Mos Def single too!
Thanks for the excerpt from the lyrics.

Actually tho, Mos Def and Talib just signed with Kanye West's label (not roc-a-fella but thru roc-a-fella). That is why the 3 of them are together a lot now on songs and shows (Chappelle). I hope and wonder if they will be able to maintain that same style.

Whoa dude, 2 words "pre-writing etiquette"...
Blade, I've always hated Ja ever since I saw what he looked like in the Jay Z video, wearing his bandana like Pac, not cool...
shingo mentioned something about his grill, I seen a few interviews the guys pretty down to earth, minus the whole coke pedaling thing he doesn't do anymore... I think...
Zippo if you have money u do whatever the fuck you fell like... even rocks stars buy useless shit... 'member gun n roses??? or how aerosmith 'sniffed' out their first year....???
didn't think about that huh zippy? and yeah did buy a house... Mike tysons Mansion and it's hella cool...
Good charlotte is pseudo-punk, 'real' punk rockers hate them...
GOSHINX: I love that song... it's called Hayles revenge... do re mi fa so la ti da front on me's the only shot you got mama se mama sa mama ku sa cut it out ja, quit playing you're not tupac...
I gotta disagree with my man Blade on saying NaS... he hasn't had anything real hot since Illmatic minus the whole JayZ diss, still he lst my respect when he joined murda INC
But I do agree on Mos Def...

Sad to say this about a band from Maryland but they aren't real punk rockers.

Its only a matter of opinion if tupac "sucks".
I think he was awesome. He had the best lyrics, and it was basically him who inspired rappers to rap and have great lyrics. IMO tupac was the only one who kept it real and gangster. He will always be a legend.

whoa the whole Murder Inc/Nas thing was a joke..stupid idea on Nas's part...but he doesn't even rep Murda Inc...I think he realized it was dumb and got out or just doesn't boast about it...either way it's very hush hush anymore...
Nas has dropped some killer shit lately, tho he hasn't put out a cd per say. He'll be back with a vengence soon enough..
