I think you need to change the title to "Who do you THINK is the greatest lyricist in the world of music?" Because technically there is no "greatest" lyricist, just people's likings and opinions.

For me it's a toss up. When it comes to sybolism I gonna say Matthew Barlow(formerly of Iced Earth). But when it comes to sheer stoytelling I'm going to say John Petrucci from Dream Theater. He's written a majority of their songs and his words sung by James Labrie is harmony.

For Barlow I'd recommend Iced Earth's entire "Days of Purgatory" album.

For Petrucci I'd recommend Dream Theater's entire "Metrapolis Pt.2: Scenes from a Memory" album.

thats FUCKING crazy mad shit. What are the chances? although Del is very good, and i commend you on listening to the greatest of all time. I saw him live here in Santa Cruz at a show he did. It was very small, but so fucking worth it...his boy pulled my sister on stage to hang...i wish i was blonde so i could do the same.
