yes they are. I think he means people who speaks spanish. Well, I speak Spanish.

Sorry but people from Latin America are Latino, not Spanish. How do I know, because I'm Spanish and I have Latino friends. There is a big difference. The difference is that Spanish people are decendants directly from Spain, while Latinos are a mix of Spanish, Native American, and in some cases like the Dominican Rebulic, Africa. Same goes for language. People in Mexico speak Mexican, people from Cuba Speak Cuban, etc etc. the reason I'm saying this is because when I say I'm Spiansh I don't need someone asking "Ohh, where from?" I'm not saying I'm pissed or offended, far from it, but I just want to point out there is a big difference.

Ok im Spanish i know wat im saying.Cuban people have theyre own accent but they speak the same lenguage im Colombian and i have my accent but i speak the same lenguage.So Latinos are the same thing of saying Spanish thats how i understand this.I still dont know why your like getting a little bit mad so my thread says are you spanish i can see your not your American so if your saying your spanish then why dont you put your own flag. si usted hes Latino entonces usted debeme saber lo ce estoy desiendo sierto?.

Im sorry to say this but it pisses me off when people say mexican people speak "MEXICAN!". They speak SPANISH!! like everyone else in central, and south america. My parents are from mexico so thats really offending since i hear this alot. So yeah.

I'm Puerto Rican and being hispanic or latino still includes being of spanish descent so yes it does count as being spanish

Not EVERYBODY in South America speaks Spanish. People in Brazil speak Portuguese. And btw, those who ARE Spanish are those who were either born in Spain or come from Spanish heritage. Those of us who live in Mexico, Central America, and South America are Latinos, or Latin-Americans, and what most of us SPEAK is Spanish.

Actually that exactly what I meant. The language is an offshoot of spanish, and is more like a dialect.

and thank you MKS, for your input aswell. Some people seem to forget Brazil altogether. Look I'm not trying to offend anyone hear Buttballs, but the dialect is considered Mexican. Infact within Mexico there are even more dilects within that. Spain in itself has several dialects, and the one my family speaks is Gallego. It is found in the northeastern part of Spain. The way I see it is that it's a cultural difference. There is some serious history involved with this subject, and it's something I really don't want to get to deep into, mostly because I don't want this turning sour.

I'm a Mexican, and i'm not spanish, im a latinoamerican, and that's it if you wanna tag me, for other instance, our language name is Castellano and not Español, or something like that. Another fact is that there's no language named Mexican, is the same language than the other but justwith different accents and slang. And for those ppl that think that Mexico is in south or central america, i'm sorry but according to the U.N. and the Mexican Government we're situated in North America (e.g. that's why the treaty is called NAFTA and not Northa and central american free trade agreement). I hope all get's clearer

Excuse me?Your saying to me that im adopted know that aint funny ok so you should stop and you know what you can think whatever you want but im not going to listen to you.The sapnish that i wrote is pretty bad because im kind of frogrting it cause of the english but im still Colombian and im proud of it.

I am part filipino from my moms side, and filipino people have spanish in them. but also on my moms side too she has a few spanish relitives somewhere in her famiily tree

It's not just the Accent, a lot of the words are different.

We all speak Spanish, but they are all different languages sort of. A lot of words from one country don't exist in another, either that, or the same words mean completely different things.

I don't know what the others are.

But then we all understand each other, so that's cool.

I can sort of understand Italian more or less, I don't know it, but if someone is talking to me, or if I see it written, I can understand it more or less.

Spanish are people from Spain, only Spain. The people from Spanish, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, etc... are Latin People.

Well dude the real latinos are all the latin american countries, Spain, Portugal , Italy and France, because all those language were derivations of the anient Latin spoken in the roman empire. That's what areal Latino or Latin is, Latin Americans is another thing, but yeah our language is the same, the differences just are the accents and some local words, but we perfectly understand eachother, think about it as Enlish from UK and Englis from US or Australia, it works the same way

And by the way, dont worry about forgetting some of the language, i was born in Argentina, but i'm not very good at speaking it noe becuse i focused more on my english than maintaining my spanish. It's weird though, i can't speak it very well, but I understant nearly EVERYTHING!! maybe its because my parents kept speaking spanish to me and i kept respoding in english (I try my best when i have to speak it to my grandparents and other family, so i can still talk in a simple conversation)

columbian, however i dont speak spanish or deal cocaine in my spare time, so i guess im only half columbian in that case, oh and im from miami, and only my dad was columbian, so yea. however almost all of our women look like goddeses, and thats all i got to say about that.

I know what you mean i can speak Spanish but not that good,i dont know i think im forgetting it(i hope that never happens) sometimes i have to speak english to my parents because i eaither dont know the word or cant say it.
