Why ? Because when MK 1 was released years ago it was one of the first ever games to really shock everyone and cause controversy, It was something new..something original and therefore it was loved. I guess it's still loved to this day because of the sequels released after it..even if some of them are a bit flawed

I love Mortal Kombat because of its overall crumminess and its bitter-sweet gameplay.

Yeah, that's right... Everything I like or liked sucks. When I was young, I liked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Transformers. These cartoons suck. They suck, because someone said they suck... And if someone says they suck, they suck!
Everything sucks.

MkD has TERRIBLE gameplay. It sucks.


When I got into Mortal Kombat, it was with the Umk3 games. I have not liked MK since the beginning(not a true fan), I got into it, about four years ago, because I remember playing my cousins Mega Drive when I was young. When I played Umk3, I was hooked instantly; A; because old games have a habit of drawing me in more than modern games. B; because I'm a nerd. And C; because I enjoyed the over the top themes, characters, Fatals...etc.
I then played MK2 and found the Fatals somewhat brutal and very humourus and cool after all these years.
Next up, I bought Deception. While I found the gameplay lacking for a modern game, I enjoyed it non the less.


The main point is: Mortal Kombat's HUGE mythos has had an impact. It hasn't been wildly successful or very good, but it has a "cult" following.
Ridiculous characters, wickedly cool settings, epic "plot" and deth moves.
That's why I like Mk.

MK sucks.

Nostalga. The new fighters havent been that good lately, but MKSM definitly got my faith back.

MK rules, despite what some of these guys say, you shouldn't be on this site in the first place if you HATE MK so to speak. lol.

I love Mortal Kombat because when MK 1 was released in the arcades( in Turkey) in the early 90s, I was amazed by the graphics and gore. I could not really get a chance to play MK2 in the arcades, and jumped straight into Ultimate MK 3 years later when I came to Cali. I kept wanting to play more,but I can enjoy MK 1,2,3, UMK 3 on my psp wherever I go now.

Mortal Kombat sucks.

I've been here for years, I enjoyed MK back then. I made friends here, then I started to get annoyed by the MK Team's efforts as with most people.

Most joined for for a related MK reason I'm sure, and a few not unfortunetley.Like, you for example, you have no MK siggy, therefore if you say MK sucks, I'm not going to stress it as much as if someone with a profile filled with MK sigs, with a MK name like Scorpion-Zero.

I mean you have to admit man, to say that MK sucks when you have no MK related things on your profile is ok I guess (even though imo sucks to hear on a MK site) but when a user has MK related sigs and stuff all over their profile and then bash it to death is just BS imo.

the online play of mk deception was to me so addictive that i had to use drastic mesures when i founded out that i was totaly waisting my entire free time day after day for months. I just said to myself enough of this, i took the disc and crushed it into little pieces to end the madness ( i had to brake 3 discs before being cured, its harder then quit smoking ) . Now at least i can enjoy my day and happily wait for mk 7.

You know that little example you gave about a guy staying with a girl despite the fact that everything he does/says seems to indicate that he doesn't love her? The reason why he stays with her is because deep down he knows she's the only one that'll put up with his bullshit. Yeah, he'd love to be with somebody else (and probably does sleep around behind her back), but he will never let her go completely is because she offers stability and accepts him for who he is, two things that aren't guaranteed with anybody else.

I've mentioned this before but your (apparent) low attention span (and the fact that you weren't around back then) has caused you to forget, so here it is again: YEARS ago this site had ONE forum. They then decided to create multiple forums (something I was initially against) so that people who didn't care about Mortal Kombat (I being one of MANY ) could have a forum for everything EXCEPT Mortal Kombat. Same thing applied to those who only wanted to talk about Mortal Kombat.

So what does that have to do with IOLKW and the example you gave (and I just explained)? Because I, for example, joined the site when there was only one forum. My username USED to be MKSECRETS because I was addicted to finding them all, but after a long time had passed since I personally started to think that the MK series was terrible (believe it or not, I and anybody else has that right), I changed it to MKS. Why MKS? Because that's what everybody called me, so I figured "Why change that?" To me, MKS means everything EXCEPT MortalKombatSecrets. If IOLKW hasn't changed his username, it's probably because he doesn't wanna have his visit counter reset to zero or some other reason I respect because it's his fucking right to do whatever the hell he wants to do when it comes to the username he uses at a site he visits to talk to FRIENDS .

So in conclusion:

1)Plenty of people here stopped liking Mortal Kombat a long time ago. They keep coming here (TO THE GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM, A FORUM FOR EVERYTHING EXCEPT MORTAL KOMBAT) to talk with friends about subjects they are interested in.

B)If they don't wanna change their username to please stubborn idiots like you who refuse to admit they're mistaken or that their logic is not the only one, they don't have to.
