I gotta say I actually enjoyed the movie. Ironically some of the characters I hated most in their original incarnations (Moira, Angel, Azazel, Darwin) I really enjoyed seeing in this movie.

I am also a HUGE Emma Frost fanboy... and I gotta say I am pleased with her in this movie. Granted I hate January Jones and whatnot, but they actually managed to make me look past that.

Shaw has some hints of Mr. Sinister to him... which I think enriched his character a lot!

Finally... as an Argentinean, and particularly one who spent EVERY summer for 14 years in Villa Gesell... I gotta say the landscape they chose is completely and TOTALLY off lol

As a guy who's never even touched an X-Men comic, I enjoyed the movie. I felt they used every mutant well, unlike the last few movies. When I explained what happened to my comic-fanboy friend, though, he got really pissed at all the inaccuracies.

I dont mind inconsistencies w the comics... but there where inconsistencies w the first 3 x-movies which kind of bugged me. The whole Mystique-Charles relationship really felt out of place, especially considering how Mystique interacts w the x-men and even poisons the professor in x-2. Same w Charles and Magneto splitting before they meat jean like they did in X-3... where they were already oldish but still comrades.

And one thing I really didnt get... considering Shaw's powers... how could the coin kill him!?!?!?!? especially since he was super amped up from the nuclear sub.

^ To try and answer your question, I just think it's because Xavier had him frozen. If Shaw was physically frozen I would assume he also wouldn't be able to use his mind, and so he can't activate/use his abilities for either defense or offense. I mean, if he could and I were him, I would have just blown them all to kingdom come instead of remaining vulnerable.

But anyway, the wife and I just got back from seeing this, and we were all impressed. This movie completely blows X1-3 out of the water, I love the characters they used and I just was really impressed with the story. I can't wait to see where they'll go next in the franchise!

Fantastic film. I really hope this is the start of a new franchise and isn't in anyway related to the original trilogy. Hopefully they don't fuck up Cyclops this time.
Go fuck yourself I laughed hardily as did everyone else. I enjoyed this movie a lot. I tried to look past inconstancies and just enjoy it. And I did.

No, i think its good that this is a prequel... there are plenty of years in between to fill up. I think they did a great job not wasting good characters in silly cameos like they did in X-3. Hopefully we'll see the appearance/birth of Wanda and Pietro... depending on whether Erik had them unknowingly before first class, cause i wanna see them in an avengers movie!!! hahaha. The birth of the brotherhood, and how it grows and I'd love to see how Sabertooth ends there too! I think there are plenty of spaces and history to fill up that would be a lot of fun to see.

It was a good film. However one of the things that bug me was Emma Frost was an adult. In X-Men Orgins: Wolverine she was a teenager.

They already fucked up the continuity because Xavier wasn't crippled in the intro to X3 when he and Erik went to recruit Jean. Anyway, hoping for Cable to show up sometime.

We just pretend that didnt happen since this emma is hella cooler. Altho there are 1000 ways they could weasle into it... like Wolverine's emma being a clone Coockoo-style, or a descendant, or whatnot.

Also... if she was Kayla's sister wouldnt she be Emma Silverfox? lol Wolverine Origins was retarded.

A.) I hope they reboot the X-Men series because honestly it sucked.

B.) I really liked this movie, it's just that I prefer Kelsey Grammer being Beast, but the guy who played as him did as well of a job as Kelsey did.

C.) It was really funny hearing people thinking that Azazel was Nightcrawler... That ain't Nightcrawler.

D.) I LOVED who they cast as Erik! Ohmigosh I've had a long crush on him while watching Hex.

E.) I also had a horrible ear pain in both ears and Banshee did not help. Although for a long time I thought it was Rupert Grant from Harry Potter playing as him... Even though it wasn't.

F.) I expect to see another one.

I thought it was good. Apparently they are going to make a threequell which sounds amazing. I'm not much of a comic reader but I loved to watch the cartoons.

Isn't havoc cyclops brother? I think I saw a cameo of him(cyclops) when Xavier first goes into cerebro you see a kid with a ball and thick glasses.

Shaw was incredible but the first time you saw him he looked old. Than he looked younger later on.

I think Darwin survived.

Also caught the older mystique cameo when she was in Eriks bed she turned into her.

Go fuck yourself. That was hilarious.

Loved it. Figures you'd find a woman in the kitchen. The camera showing Darwin's face after the slavery comment was awkward. Who was the guy who made tornadoes?

Yes! They went straight to him!!! hahaha

the guy who made tornadoes is Riptide, they changed him a lot from his comic book counterpart... I was really glad the hellfire club had a bond-villain feel rather than the powdered wigs and dated outfits haha and i was glad they didnt have the whole "black king white king" assignation of roles either. Altho it was funny how they lure Angel by calling her a queen and she's always wearing black, so she's kind of the black queen.

Haven't seen this one yet but I want to I always enjoyed the XMEN movies I can't wait for the DEADPOOL movie I hope they don't mess him up like they did in XMEN origins Wolverine.
Loved it. Loved it all.

Everything Magneto-related was awesome. His personal music theme in this movie was awesome. His new costume near the end looks awesome.

My favorite character in the xmen films has always been Mystique and while I thought setting her up with Xavier early on was going to suck. I ended up not hating it as much as I thought I would.

And it's not going to happen but I hope Darwin is alive....somehow. Even with "Adapt to survive" as your mutation I don't know how you can come back from that.

The newbies weren't bad but they didn't get a lot of screen time to be incredible maybe in the future though.

The cameos were great. Every time Charles said "It's a very groovy mutation" I had to chuckle at how corny it sounded.

It looks like this movie retcons X-3 and Origins out of existance if that's the case I certainly approve. Although if it's a reboot entirely then I'm fine with that as well I just don't like that it's a gray area right now as to if it's a reboot or prequel.

I thought the movie was great, loved the characters. However, a lot of the special effects looked bad; Angels flight scenes torwards the end looked particularly cringeworthy.

When young Magneto destroys that room when his mother gets shot, those were special effects that I thought looked terrible.

I'm positive Darwin is alive... much like his comic counterpart when his body was destroyed... he could either become airborne, or maybe like he did w Vulcan, he becomes energy and is absorbed by Havok, Vulcan's brother.

I loved what they did w Emma in this movie, but if they changed actresses for the next one, I would honestly be even happier :P Sorry Junuary Jones, ur hot but thats about it.

Also, I liked that the new recruits didnt get too much screen time... teenagers are annoying hahaha altho I liked Banshee

I wonder if Moira will be back... I really liked her... and I love Rose Byrne

I loved Mystique in this film, was nice to see her as a bubbly and sassy teenager before becoming that homicidal sex vixen we later know her to become in the movies. And that Rebecca Romijn cameo was genius! lol
