A Realistic Roster Prediction

Well, we know the initial roster now. Killer Frost sucks. I'd rather have Mirror Master or Circe.

Changed to reflect recent confirmations and sadly deconfirmations.

Heroes

And as for bosses
31. Anti-Monitor (He's far too powerful to be playable and is really a perfect final boss. Much like Doomsday, he'll be much shorter than he is in the comics but as a big, bad ultimate evil, he's probably a better choice than Nekron. Odds: 30%)
32. Gorilla Grodd (He's shown as a background character in one stage and is GIANT. Compared to other large fighters like Bane, Doomsday, Superman, Cyborg and Grundy, Grodd towers over them. So if Grodd really is that much more massive, it's safe to say that he's the sub-boss like Goro or Kintaro since you can't have somebody twice as large as Bane (who currently has the largest hitbox) as a playable character. Odds: 85%)


As far as DLC goes. I'm expecting six characters since the MK DLC sold VERY well but we only got four characters and we were promised more DLC for this game. They could be ANYTHING but just to be conservative, I'll say:
1. Power Girl (hinted by Boon's poll asking about who should be DLC and was announced as the winner. Odds: 95%)
2. Martian Manhunter: (Since I doubt that Professor Zoom will win Boon's poll and Boon already hinted at him in the word puzzle. Odds: 95%)
3. General Zod (Releasing him alongside the upcoming Man of Steel movie villain is PERFECT timing. Odds: 95%)
4. Lobo (Hinted at as DLC and confirmed to not be in the initial roster. Boon is also hyping him on Twitter now. Odds: 85%)

In the Unlikely event we get a second Season Pass, I'd like to see Mirror Master, Blue Beetle, Black Canary and Circe

Notice how some heroes don't have villains yet?

Superman has Solomon Grundy and Lex Luthor.
Batman (along with Catwoman and Nightwing) have Joker, Harley Quinn and Bane.
Green Arrow and Cyborg have Deathstroke.

(16.)Aquaman and (17.)Black Manta are a given but haven't been announced yet.

Let's assume that the more popular heroes (the ones already confirmed) all get a rival. That leaves us with:
18. Wonder Woman ---> Circe
19. The Flash ---> Captain Cold
20. Green Lantern ---> Sinestro

The final four are hard to think up but I'm guessing
21. Darkseid (was in MK vs. DC)
22. Lobo (highly requested for DLC in MK vs DC and Catwoman can't be our ONLY antihero)
23. Black Adam (he fights just like captain Marvel but is MUCH more popular and would easily fill CM's slot)
24. Steel (since he'd be a fun character to play)

And a final boss
25. Anti-Monitor

I don't think every hero needs a villian counterpart if I'm honest.

Random guess.

The 15 confirmed.
16-Aquaman
17-Martian Manhunter

19-Captain Marvel/Black Adam (maybe alternative costumes)

21- Hawkman/Hawkgirl..(same as 19)
22- Black Canary

Injustice lends alot from previous storylines (batman against superman) but i'm gonna pull from the original justice/injustice league roster. Also a few from the legion of doom. Heck even a couple from Kingdom Come could make an appearance. So here goes:

16. Martian Manhunter: Founding JL member. An array of powers so there's a lot that can be done with him.

17. Aquaman: Founding JL member. I was sold on him when he summoned Sharks to attack Darkseid's Parademons in the New 52's JL.

18. Shazam: He's a given. We all know that.

19. Black Canary: It's Netherrealm Studios guys. We gotta have a Sindel type. Plus storyline wise a great connection with Green Arrow.

20. Plastic Man: Great powers to work with. He'll also bring some comedy.

21. Cheetah: Wonder Woman's opposite number. She doesnt really use gadgets so that'll differentiate her from Catwoman.

22. Star Sapphire: A better opponent for Green Lantern imo. Sinestro is cool but he's pretty much GL in yellow.

23. Black Manta: Honestly Aquaman doesnt have alot of great enemies. He uses tech so he'd work as a gadget character.

24. Icicle jr.: I prefer him over his dad or Captain Cold. Natural ice powers always better than a freeze gun. He is a longshot though.

Unlockables:

25. Vandal Savage: A boss type character. The guy's been alive for thousands of years. He's gotta have a few tricks up his sleeve.

26. Doctor Fate: Really powerful magician. Magic = Versatile.

DLC:

27. Black Adam

28. Sinestro

29. Phantom Stranger

30. Pandora

Given all the hints, I think the following is the most realistic:

16. Shazam
17. Aquaman
18. Sinestro
19. Doomsday
20. Blue Beetle
21. Martian Manhunter

After that is when it gets murky. Swamp Thing has been hinted at, but my guess is they're making him DLC (what character would sell better?). Assuming he's not, these are my guesses for the remaining slots:

22. Swamp Thing
23. Raven
24. Captain Cold

It's been semi-confirmed that at least one ice-releated character is making the cut. Given the excess of Batman characters, my money is on Cold. I put Raven in the list due to a combination of popularity and a glaring lack of female characters. I feel one of the DLC choices is completely obvious:

DLC: Lobo

People will not shut up about this guy. NRS is well-aware that there's a demand for him at this point.

So the roster thus far is:

1. Superman

I'm estimating by the three wide select-screen (which conveniently splits up the characters between Superman's faction and Batman's rebellion), the roster number will fall either on 24, or 27 playable characters specifically.

19. Doomsday - This is pretty likely, however I'm unsure whether or not the writer of the article mistook him as playable after seeing him in the background of the Fortress of Solitude arena.

20. A Freeze related villain (maybe hero, doubtful though) - Seeing the Flash going head to head with said character in the announcement trailer means a freeze character is extremely likely.

Beyond that, I cannot speculate for certain the either 4 or 7 remaining characters. Although, I did recently read an article where Boon spoke about how certain characters that are too similar to each other might just get secondary costumes, i.e. Captain Marvel with Black Adam skin, Superman with Superboy skin.

Watchmen aren't likely.

Power Girl is pretty much the Rain of Injustice. Only you know... cooler. And not an in joke.

Definitely see some more villains joining the party.

I would like if the put Grifter in the game. I think DC would like to promote some of their less famous characters or the ones making a triumphant return. so here's hoping for Grifter.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the rest of the roster. Now Boon was confirmed to say that the roster would be split 50/50 between heroes and villains on the live Australian Gamespot interview. He also mentioned that the in development select screen would be pretty much the roster. So I'm shooting for 24 characters, 12 heroes, 12 villains.

I'm sure most of you remember the poll Mr. Ed Boon did on twitter, asking us who we'd rather have in Injustice between Supergirl, Batgirl, or Power Girl. If I recall correctly, Power Girl won by a large margin. Do you think she'll make the roster, or was he quizzing that for DLC?

Lobo will be in the game, too many people have asked.

Martian Manhunter will be in the game for sure, as far as playable probably as DLC

Zatanna seems like a good Kitana-type character and adds another female

The rest I hope are non-main stream characters, as to give them some publicity.

I also hope for 2-3 secret unlockable characters that we dont find out about until we actually unlock them
