DC Characters you didnt know of until MK vs. DC and Injustice

I was wondering how many of you were DC fans before MK vs. DC and Injustice because i have never really been super into this stuff but there were always superheros i liked in Marvel and DC.

When they announced mkvsdc i was just happy for another Mortal Kombat and i didn't care about which DC characters would be in. I still don't care all that much for DC because i don't read those comics but I can't lie Injustice Gods Among Us has had me looking up some of these characters online and interested me in DC somewhat.

Before MK vs. DC I had never seen Shazam or Darkseid. I also didn't know who Deathstroke was but then I realized it was Slade from the Teen Titans show I used to love as a kid.

Now before Injustice I had never seen Green Arrow or Doomsday.

I also see alot of people who suggest characters like Lobo, Swamp Thing and Zatanna. Which basically obligated me to look them up and find out their appeal and I admit they look very cool.

So basically I am asking who are the characters you were unaware before these Midway/Netherrealm Studio's DC games. If there are any because I see some of you are all over DC comics

None for me. All of the characters shows so far are pretty mainstream.

I wasn't farmiliar with Deathstroke until MKvsDC, but thats about it. I've known about everyone in Injustice to varying degrees

Shazam was one when they announced him for MK vs DC. And now I found out about Black Adam through speculation of him being in Injustice. Darkseid was also one I didn't know from MK vs DC. Solomon Grundy I never knew about until Injustice was revealed. As for hinted characters or background characters, Giganta, Atom Smasher, Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold, Ares, Mirror Master, Cheetah, and Black Manta.
Yeah I don't really know man DC Villains besides Batman and Superman's.

None. I pretty familiar with DC and even more familiar with the DCAU.
i grew up around jla batman tas when they were on cartoon network but i never touched a comic in my life until green lantern was shown in mk vs dcu

thats when i really got into reading comics

I watched the DCAU well before MK Vs DC.

But I think maybe Captain Marvel/Shazam, I knew nothing about.

I had never seen Captain Marvel or Deathstroke before. I'm a big fan of the former now.

I didn't know who Darkseid was either, and I'm pretty sure I forgot who he was right after playing the game.

Everyone was new to me besides Batman, Superman and other characters from their universe. I also knew that Wonder Woman existed, but didn't know anything about her other than her hair being dark and her costume colors being similar to Superman's so I thought of her as a female version of Superman lol.

(Never read a DC comic in my life; never watched any DC cartoons aside from 2-3 episodes of some Batman cartoon in the '90s; only watched Batman and Superman movies; oh and I watched that live-action Batman show from '60/'70s when I was a little kid but I hardly remember anything aside from Robin being in it and the theme song and that there were cartoon-like images when punches and kicks connected lol).

MKDC introduced me to Shazam, Deathstroke, and Darkseid. I'm now a crazed fanboy for Shazam - Im waiting for DC to create his own book and take him out of the JL back story -_- Still dont care about Deathstroke and Darkseid.

Injustice is currently introducing me to Hawkgirl, Raven, Green Arrow, Solomon Grundy and Cyborg.


I'm VERY interested in Hawk and Raven; I may 'main' them if they gel with my play style.

I read a bit about her during the week her Battle Arena match was going on, she's alright, but Miss Kyle is my fave DC character.

I am very pleasantly surprised with Aquaman and I've been kinda fond of The Flash ever since MKvsDC.

Let's see:
I never knew who Captain Marvel was

I didn't know Solomon Grundy until Arkham city

Nightwing....let's see i vaguely was faimiliar with him during Batman TAS season 4 (New adventures of Batman) but I was young so i couldn't really remember him. then I heard of him in Arkham City and then my cousin told me that Nightwing was Grayson as his own man and peeked my interest more since I was always a Robin fan.

Deathstroke kinda of knew him in Teen titans but at the time I knew him as Slade

Hawkgirl not until now (somewhat) in Young Justice

Green Arrow until Justice League Unlimited

Sinestro in GL movie (which even though i was not Lantern (or big comic) fan and I thought the movie felt eh lol)

So yeah...I'd have to say that they were the main ones
As you can see, im barely getting familiar with the comic book scene stuff lol

The only (DC) heroes I was most familar before these games were Robin and Batman (see what I did there?), superman (though he is my least favorite). so I pretty much started out with the Noob pack- Batman and Superman, typical right? lol

not exactly the same thing but MK vs DC taught me that Slade from Teen Titans is Deathstroke which i genuenly didn't know

I never read a comic book in my life until MK vs DC Now I've researched all the possible fighters in this game I recognize all the background NPC

This game has gotten me even more pumped for MK10

Never heard of Captain Marvel until MKvsDC, and that gives me another reason why I dislike the game. lol

I never knew about Solomon Grundy until Injustice. When I saw the first announcement of the game, I was really confused about who he was. I'm pretty content with him now.

I knew about Green Arrow, but I completely forgot about him until his announcement for Injustice. I like his new appearance than his earlier ones.


As for eveyone else, I've known who they were for years, especially Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn, the only two DC characters I genuinely like.
