As much as she's not my first choice of DLC, I'm still interested in seeing how she'll play and how she could be different from Batman. She does have these gauntlet things on her wrists so that would be interesting to see being used.

And Knightfall Bane is in the game (where is first appeared and broke Bat's back).

The point I'm trying to make is that Zod and Bane are likely in the game because of the movies.

Batgirl is almost certainly more well known to casual Batman fans and comic fans than Bane who is probably remembered in most peoples minds as Poison Ivy's muscle mook then the guy who broke the bat.

Bane is more popular than ever because of Rises, if you think that's untrue you're just silly.


I wasn't in denial like I was going to lose my life if Batgirl was announced. It just seemed very fishy, I don't don't mind she is in at all. I had no expectations for DLC so anyone is fine by me. But yeah Bane is popular because of the movie, but he was going to be in the game regardless of the movie.

All the clothes that Bane wears in the game? They'd be replaced by what he wears in the movie. That's literally it. They body type doesn't need to be like Tom Hardy.

So there's already 6 Bat characters, 3 of those (Batman, Catwoman and Nightwing) are aesthetically similar (black leather costume, mask, similar body size). They decide to bring in another Batman character (7/28* = 25% total roster lol) and go for the one that fits in the same category as those 3. Fail. And of the remaining 3, 2 are clown-like. Diversity at very low level.

If it just had to be another Batman character, It should have been Poison Ivy considering people actually wanted her and she would actually contribute to the visual presentation of the game.


Disappointing...

This is actually the news I've been hoping for since Injustice was announced! :) Batgirl is my favorite superhero. The New 52 comics by Gail Simone are AMAZING and it's so cool to see Babs back in the spotlight and kicking ass. The new Batgirl series has actually been pretty groundbreaking. For example, it just introduced DC's first trans character.



There's been a lot of big story moments in the new Batgirl series. Big stuff with the Joker, big stuff with Batgirl's family (there's some major death and body mutilation going on). She's not a Batman clone, she's her own character.


YAY for Babs fans!!! ^_^ I hope she plays awesomely.

In general, this DLC revelation is laughable.
It's Freddy Kruger thing on the bigger scale. People bought season pass and...were burned again. But this time with almost all of DLC characters.

P.S.
Pandering doesn't mean good writing or achievement. Just saying.

All the Bat characters are aesthetically similar. They definitely all have a look. They could've always added Batwing. He looks COMPLETELY different. And I'm sure that would've gone over really well.

Haha, I thought that same thing ;) I actually prefer Jason Todd over Batgirl. He could have a Robin and a Red Hood costume. I guess Batgirl's alternate will be Oracle.....or maybe not.
