I'm more than aware that we're all crying over spilled milk. I'm over it. I'm going to be alright, I promise. At least maybe my friends will enjoy playing these DLC characters when they visit, so there's that.

I just can't resist the naive idea that if a lot of customers complain about a product, the producer of that product will be more in touch with the consumers next time. Who knows?

Just to clarify my thoughts for a final time...this all goes along with what I said in the impressions of the game thread. From MK to Injustice, NRS regressed in areas that they didn't need to. (This is why I think Injustice is generally receiving more criticism and worse reviews than MK9, even though it is a significantly better game). MK's DLC was the ultimate fan service. I'm okay with one or two DLC being oddball choices like Freddy; I'm just disappointed that I don't find any one of Lobo, Batgirl, Zod, or Scorpion particularly interesting (though at least I recognize that Lobo is hitting the spot for a fairly large audience). And hey, Scorpion and Zod still aren't guaranteed, so maybe NRS is trolling within their trolling (Incepta-trolling?) and there is still something unexpected coming in the season pass.

And of course I, like many others, speculated myself right into spending 15 dollars on a season pass. Like I said, won't happen again. At least it went to my favorite developer. I just wish Boon wouldn't play into that so much by releasing fake DLC silhouettes, implicating screen shots, etc. It really has gone too far and doesn't play well with the hardcore neurotics (ahem, fans) like myself.

I accept Batgirl with the same feelings as someone whose candidate just lost the election excepts the new president. Nothing I can do, I hoped for the best, knew this was a possibility, I'm not happy, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I've never cared for Batgirl and only really found her tolerable as Oracle. I do think we're too heavy on Bat characters (Bane's role being utterly pointless). And I believe in my heart of hearts that she is a complete and utter waste of a DLC character.

That being said...

NRS never had to give us any DLC characters. They never had to give us alternate costumes. They don't owe us jack. We have no right to rage or complain because in the end DLC is gift not a right. If you don't want it, don't buy it- this coming from someone who gambled on the season pass and lost. I knew what I was risking and it turned out I got Batgirl, Lobo, Zod, and Scorpion (though I'll wait for an official confirmation for the latter two).

In the end, this is DLC -accessories- there's no need to rage. Sure we can be disappointed, but to "boycott" or return your game? Utter foolishness! Just sit down, shut up, have a cookie, and beat the shit out of Batgirl in practice.

Batgirl was entirely unnecessary. It doesn't matter how much she meant to people, because those people weren't even asking for her to be in the game. If they were, there would've been a lot more demand for her inclusion.

As for gameplay, yeah she'll probably be different. But I can't say she'd be more unique than MM.

I should probably clarify something. I'm not a MM supporter whatsoever. But when there is a clear choice of who the people want the most, I think you should throw them a bone.

So I am not allowed to have an opinion if it is negative? So this forum is only for people who all agree that everything is awesome and then those who disagree can just go sit in a corner and shut up. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? The point of a forum is discussion and debate of a shared topic, in this case Mortal Kombat and Injustice. And that includes both sides, positive AND negative. If you can't accept that, then you are not fit to be on a forum.

As for Batgirl, I am no fan. And I do not want her as DLC for Injustice. I will post my opinion about it as long it is relevant. And it is now. That is what this thread is for, that is what it is about - to discuss Batgirl's inclusion as DLC. Both good and bad.

So I will not stop posting my "negative shit" just because you say so. And I will not write "in my opinion" when it is obvious that it is. If that rubs you the wrong way, well... Too bad then.

That's not how business works. People on the fence about the game or just flat out not interested might pick it up for a chance to play as her. That's more money for WB which is their primary concern.
Now that I think about it I didn't see many people asking for Lobo either. Many many more people where wondering about him during MKvsDCU because he was right up NRS alley as far as characterization and violence went but that was years ago.

I guess the point I'm making is Batgirl was decided upon LONG before any characters polls showed up.

Clearly peoples responses to Batgirl in whatever poll she was in wasn't so awful that they felt like they made the catastrophic mistake it's being made out to be. Ultimately being requested isn't quite enough. Lobo had way more requests years ago for MKvsDCU than he did for Injustice and he's the first one out.

They weren't upset because she was dead last on the poll. There was no chance of her being DLC. Of course, that was before fans knew they were going to be royally fucked over.

As for Lobo, he was the first DLC to be in this game. They obviously heard people's requests for Lobo. But MM was teased just to sell season passes. Very underhanded move.

Now I agree with that wholeheartedly. I'm hoping Scorpion is a horrible stupid joke and Martian Manhunter is the actual character. Also where was this DLC poll? On twitter? Was there actual results?

If actual polls or silhouettes don't come from Boon or an OFFICIAL source, always take them with a grain of salt. I think people got too carried away from reading game news sites, forums, and magazines. Find a direct post from NRS themselves about MM or DLC. Ed did ask who people liked, but he never said whoever was liked the most was going to have anything to do with the game.

It is implied when you do a poll to see whom the most wanted character is that the results will have some purpose. That's just common sense.

hmmm, I'm happy Batgirl's in the game, but I don't think she was a great choice for DLC. Batman already has a sidekick/secondary character in Robin/Nightwing, why don't the other heroes get one? I would have loved to see either Wonder Girls, Aqualads, or Arsenal before her. I'm still holding out for Dick Grayson's *other* firey red-head ex girlfriend though lol.

People in general are apparently sick of Bat characters. He was always going to have a lions share of the roster though. He's DC's most popular franchise and right now one of it's most critically acclaimed.

But BATgirl is just an offshoot of BATman, just like Wonder Girl is an offshoot of Wonder Woman and so on. She wouldn't even exist without Batman, therefore she's a secondary character to him.
