Why do you think I keep trying to justify things? I was merely stating that slurs commonly used against minorities are frequently used by many many gamers and that just like there are bad losers, there are bad winners as well. And it is gamer culture. Just like the not so pretty side of sports culture. And yes it comes from ignorance, some hate, and huge lack of maturity.

It's not gamer culture. It's ignorance, and it exists everywhere. If you're not trying to justify his bullshit, then why are you making generalizations? Just to state facts?

I can't tell if you're being snide with your "what" comment. This isn't a "power trip" for me. That you would think that means you're totally missing the point, and is obnoxious. If I never saw another rage-quitter in my life, it would be too soon. Shit is pathetic, and I cope with it by finding the humor in it, as do many other people. There are entire sites dedicated to exposing this kind of behavior.

The significance of this is not the fact that he lost, nor the fact that I won. You're looking at this from the wrong perspective. Whether he lost or won does not matter. It's how he's behaving over a fucking video game.

It's a man-child acting like an ignorant bitch because he lost at a video game. Laugh or move on. This behavior is the equivalent of a child kicking and screaming at a movie theater because they couldn't have popcorn. It's disruptive, annoying and pathetic, but at least a child has an excuse. If I saw a man doing this at a movie theater, I'd put that shit on youtube just the same.

I don't see why making videos about rage quitters is funny either. You beat them so bad they had to leave, take your victory and move on to the next fight. No reason to antagonize them because they couldn't stick around to lose.

I find rage quitting more sad than humorous, but I guess we're just two different people.

It is sad. But I have to find the humor in it because it happens so god damn often. I don't fucking care if I won or lost. I care because I'm trying to play a god damn game and people are acting like brats about it. If I couldn't find the humor in it, this game would be a depressing wreck to play. Rage quitters, people crying about characters... my god. I have yet to go a single damn session of Injustice without multiple rage quitters and people calling me "cheap".

Thankfully, I do find it hilarious at this point.

Mhm and I think it's particularly pervasive with gamers. Hence why I say it's apart of video game culture. Just look at all the bullshit Anita Sarkeesian has had to put up with. Ignorance is everywhere yes but that doesn't mean that it's not a particular problem when it comes to gaming.

The site I'm talking about simply isn't just for identifying rage-quitters. It's for entertainment. People post pictures of hate-mail and morons just generally flipping the fuck out over video games.

I don't think ignorance is gamer culture. It's prevalent everywhere. At the risk of sounding like a major dork, real gamers play for the game, not for some baseless number that represents apparently represents self-worth.

Edit: So, yea, I was watching a tournament just now. Got hyped up, jumped on Injustice... was like, "I'mma start bodying people!" 5 matches in, 3 rage-quits and one laggy Deahstroke... I'm now like, "I don't care anymore..."

Once again I actually agree. People should play for the love of the game.

i dont spam. i always try to try different combos and moves. and i always finish fights and play people better then me so i can get better. which is why mk kd sucks lol but when i first started in mk armagedon i sucked lol and was like 12 years old. but yeah i won one match because i was so pathetic that i was running away from the enemy with a pinch of health left and she quit lol a victory is a victory.

but yeah im better now to the point where i can invite some friends over and not fear me being embarassed to loose thanks to some good training. point is i dont spam not even if there spamming but yet my friend who is a raging monster lol ill go over to his house juggle him in the air with a combo and he will through his controller on the hard floor and hill call me a noob and other stuff i cant post. best thing is to get a kick out of the ragers and laugh at them because they basically said there not worthy to fight you

I just rage(more like annoyed)quit tonight.The guy was cheap and spamming with raven,while i had my fave(both in and out)charcter of the game Nightwing,it's was ridiculous how much range raven's non trait telepathic grab attack has,i did it knowing it wouldn't screw with his record(since the patch)it didn't make it better,but he goes off on me about how i'm a loser( adding sore would've been better too me)and that i am a rage quitting cry baby,even though he was the one whining about it.I tol him to move on,it's happened to me too,and just get over it,and leave me alone,he doesn't,so i trash talk him a little bit more(he provoked me though).Haven't heard from him since.

Now i know i'm not in the right for quitting,but was he right to start trash talking me? And can i be classified as a rage quitter,even though i've only done it once,maybe twice since i got the game?

A rage-quit is a rage-quit. No one wants to play against someone who's going to leave in the middle of a fight because they can't figure something out. You're already making excuses calling him "cheap". Any Raven that mindlessly spams a single move is a free win. Play and figure out how to counter it, because I guarantee you, Nightwing can do so extremely easily.

Well there really is no excuse to rage quit, like ever. Unless there's a family emergency, but even then it's not a rage quit.

The guy really didn't need to talk trash after you quit though. He could've just let it go and went on to the next fight. But he's so insecure about himself he has to bash you to feel better about himself. People have rage quit on me and I thought nothing of it.

And I never rage quit either. I made a code to never rage quit on any game. Even if my opponent still has 2 bars of health and beats me, I'll finish out the match because I know I'd expect the same courtesy from my opponent. Just try not to do it again.

See to me there's a few difference.

If you ask me the true rage quitting is the doofus who gets beaten, but his last portion of the health bar is eaten up by a super move - and he DCs in the middle of the supermove.THAT to me is the real bitch move. But I don't have any right to trash talk him either. It's a fucking game.

Now, I've had 377 matches and I have 33 disconnects. I can say 90 percent of those disconnects are those stupid fights where it lags so hard, and then in the middle of the fight it says "no longer available."

But there are a few where I've quit - mostly out of frustration. The phone rings, and what could have been a fun match turns into a one sided affair because phone in my hand.

And there's a few that I've quit early on because quite frankly, I have no problem quitting a match when the person on the other end is screaming into his microphone and insulting me while beating me (and he's a zoner and using it in a way that let's face it... frustrating.)

You have the right to tell them to grow the fuck up, play the damn game and stop acting like a bitch just because they were losing. Quitting is infantile behavior. Telling people to man the fuck up is just a service.

You guys keep quitting in matches. Get mad. Blame the game for being "cheap". Keep telling yourself that the people mocking you for acting like a PMSing 12 year-old are the immature ones. I'll play with people who actually try and learn to deal with tactics rather than running away and cry, "cheater!"

No shame in me quitting purely because I had no idea WTF I was doing.
