One thing though I've been thinking about.

When Batman and Catwoman meet again *spoilers*
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
When she's in the Regime and Damian attacks Green Arrow
do you believe her when she tells Batman *spoiler*
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
that she only joined the Regime as a way of buying Batman time and to protect him?

I ask this because to me, Catwoman's always been a big grey character in the black and white spectrum of good and bad. There's a side of me that wants to believe that (like we seen in Arkham City) she genuinely doesn't want to see harm fall upon Batman and made some choices she's not entirely proud of to protect him, yet another side of me also thinks that
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
she may have joined the Regime to seduce Batman with a false sense of security and lure him back to Superman. Notice in her dialogue "Do you have any idea what I've....You think I'm here by coincidence?", she sounds legitimately desperate to escape with him, yet as soon as he rejects her advances she's happy to go back to her job in hunting him down alongside Nightwing
.

What do you guys think? Since she's absolutely no other role in the story I figured I might try at least get a conversation out of her intentions in that scene.

I don't think Catwoman's the type to have a "master plan", she probably joined the Regime purely to not end up in jail or tortured or punched through the chest.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Maybe she misdirected attempts to catch Bruce in the past, out of her feelings for him, but at the end of the day, if she really wanted to be with him that bad, she could have joined the insurgents. She didn't. She only saw the choices as being "run away with me" or "keep fighting for Superman cuz I don't wanna die".

Thats one of the reasons I love her character so much, you really have no idea what her motivations are. She is an enigma.

I wouldn't say an enigma but she certainly is selfish. There may be some truth to what she said out of her attraction/love for Bats but me thinks she was trying to save her own hide and get something else she wanted.

Definitley agree with the selfish part. I wouldnt be surprised if the Regime offered her something or bribed her to join their cause. Not to mention saving her own ass.

Her life. By the time the game starts the Regime clearly has no issues with torture or murder.

Yeah, this is kinda what I was getting at.

She's a known criminal. She didn't really have a choice. It's not selfish to not want to be fucking heat visioned to death.

Those are good points. If you look at it that way, you'd kinda pity her, because she clearly has a lot of feelings for Bruce even after all that time: maybe she was being sincere when she pleaded with him to escape together from Superman. Must have been pretty shitty for her to be forced to work against the man she loves.

I'd still love to know why Raven submitted to Trigon's influence in this canon though, it's never acknowledged. Wonder Woman touches on it briefly but I think it could have been fleshed out more.

What is the purpose of putting spoiler boxes if the thread title says Spoiler?

Personally I dont think she was being sincere with Bruce. She turned against him pretty fast after he shot down her advances. I think she was trying to lead him back to Superman. Bruce is a pretty smart cookie so I think he would be able to tell if she was lying to him or not, and he seemed pretty damn convinced that she was.

I mean yeah. It's been five years if she was going to discredit Superman or whatever then she should have started leaking stuff but Lex was taking care of that.

And on the subject of Raven and Trigon. When she was fighting Wonder Woman it seemed to me that she was implying that Trigon was coming or something to perhaps take the Regime away from him. Perhaps she was waiting to Starscream Superman with her father.

Catwoman looks out for herself. Batman would rather stay and fight Superman than run away, and Catwoman wants to survive, knowing that everyone who has opposed Superman has died, so she naturally teams up with him over Bats.

She's no hero, but she is no villain either. She does what she feels is necessary to survive. Kinda like Tanya from Mortal Kombat, but less evil.
