I have a fear that with all the additions compared to Mortal Kombat 9 the game will also lack in something that Mortal Kombat 9 had. Much like with all the earlier installations, compare e.g. MK:DA to D. It's still possible that we will have Tag Team with the higher standards of this gen and I'd like to see it happen but currently it's a bit unsure for the aforementioned reason.

So your answer is you want it but your unsure that they'd be able t keep it a quality feature like the one in mk(9)? Or am i way off?

That, and it's technically also possible that they'll leave it completely out from this game. There's nothing wrong with the game mode but one shouldn't take it for granted either. MK/DC didn't have it for instance.

Although i'll keep my own bias against mk vs dc out of this.I will say that after the fact that they integrated it so greatly in MK(9) as far as to add tag combos.I think it would be great to add in fights where you are playing in tag form in a story mode fight. It would be great to have story mode segment that involve more than 3 characters in between, before, and after fights. I'm for tag mode. smile

Defintley a yes for tag mode. Imagine the team of Green Lantern and Flash, or Grundy and Cyborg. The switches could be awesome as well. Fash does a combo then quick uppercuts and calls in GL who grabs the opponent with the power ring and continues it. Or Superman is doing a combo and throws the opponent in the air when you switch out and a graplling hook brings him to a waiting roundhouse kick ala batman

That pretty much sums up my reasoning. Also the "that'll never happen" team ups.Like Lex Luthor and superman,Joker And Batman (or harley in case of no mr j).Those team up would be funny.

There are so many tag team fighting games on the market right now. It's the new "thing"... Mortal Kombat, Tekken Tag, Dead or Alive 5, Street Fighter X Tekken, Marvel VS Capcom 3... It's fun and all, but I am getting tired of it. I would like some fighting games without tag team in.

So I vote no for tag teaming in Injustice.

I honestly hate tag team combat. I've probably played it about 3 or 4 times in Mortal Kombat 9. Probably the reason I don't play SFxTekken that much since it forces you into tag team with a shared meter. At least in MK9 you're health bars aren't shared.

So I could care less wether it be included or not but it would definitely add replay value.

If there does turn out to be a tag team mode I'D LOVE TO SEE SCRAMBLE BATTLE borrowed from SFxTekken; that is so freaking fun lol.

I love Tag combat and I feel every fighting game should have the option for a Tag mode. Injustice is no exception.

Well it'd be only optional dude. They'd not be forcing it down your throat.

The short answer is no. After so many tag games I too am a little sick. The other issue is that tag in MK9 wasn't completely polished and tournament players completely neglect it because of the problems.

However, i'm not against 2v2 or 4v4. Set up in the style of MKT for N64. It would be simple for NRS to set up and you could get still get that co-op experience with out as many problems to worry about or it felling like so many other tag games out right now.

Tag mode was my favorite thing in MK9, it's literally the only thing I play now. Why would you EVER choose just one character when you can be two?

Plus it allows for actual co-op, which is really the only kind of multiplayer I enjoy, I'm not competitive by nature when it comes to games.

Yes. I can see me teaming up Bat and Harley right now.

Pop up, two hits, bats/tag, two hits, revolver and a finishing blow.

Fuck! It just makes me want to play with 5 other friends so badly. Injustice needs this feature.

On the other hand if they do go the tag route they need to fix problems like this.

I think for NRS's games the 3v3 team style is the way to go. It makes for a co-op team based experience, but you don't have to worry about tag outs or tag assists. It ultimately makes an experience that is multiplayer but is grounded in a 1v1 feel.

With that said I don't think MK tag's style was bad it's just glitchy. It also feels like it wants to be like every other tag fighter out right now. The MKT 3v3 style is pretty exclusive to MK games.

Meh, I never liked or used the 3v3 mode.

I'd much rather have the ability to tag in and out and switch characters on the fly than have to wait until one of my dudes is beaten to get the next one, Endurance Match-style.

One of my other problems with MK9's tag was there wasn't much incentive to tag other than to avoid a bad match up. In other tag games you tag to gain health back or you tag because you can lose a round once 1 character is KO'd.

If injustice does tag they need to do some serious ironing out. If they did endurance style there isn't as many technical or gameplay problems to worry about.

Also, I'm getting sick of tag thanks to MvC3, MK9 Tag, Skull Girls, and SFxT.

I find that playing as someone else at the drop of a hat is incentive enough. I mean that's the whole point of having a tag-team mode in a game, the ability to be two different characters at the same time and flip between them at will. I don't need any bonus reason to tag like getting health back or something, I'm gonna tag because I want to be the other guy.

Maybe I just have a really short attention span for fighting games, but I often stop in the middle of the ladder to go back to the select screen too because I'm sick of being the same guy and want to change it up, and I play story mode a lot even though I hate the game's plot, just because it gives you a different guy every 4 fights. I just cannot be the same guy for too long or I get bored.

Like I said, I never play anything but tag now. I don't think I've played 1v1 Arcade since the first month I owned MK9. I did it to unlock all the endings as quick as possible, and then I never looked back.
Also, personally I really enjoy the tag attacks and assists. I just wish there were tag matches in story mode because there are so many scenes where it would make sense to be fighting with a partner. Like Kung Lao spends half of his chapter traveling with Liu Kang, so why couldn't I be the Shaolin Monks together? Or why not have a point where you get to be Sonya and Jax, or Sub-Zero and Smoke, or Sektor and Cyrax? Half the cast rolls with a partner and you never put that in the game, but oh, you'll do the reverse and put the player in handicap matches where I'm alone and the enemy gets a partner? That's not very fun...
And I'm sure there will be many situations in Injustice where the same is true, like Batman and Nightwing are partners. Batman and Superman roll as a team sometimes, "the World's Finest", If Poison Ivy's in the game, her and Harley Quinn are well known for working together, Green Lantern and Green Arrow are best friends, etc. I'd like to see these partnerships represented in the game's story mode with them getting to fight together in tag matches.

I don't ever want to tag unless there is a point. I don't get bored of a character mid round. I get bored with a character once there is no new tech out and I have been playing them for months.

My other problems with tag games is that once you put in tag outs and assists, your character selection can make or break you. In MvC3 my team was Hulk, Haggar, and Captain America. I picked them because I liked the context of the characters , not because they worked well together. Because of this it pushed me away from the game because 70% of my fights were uphill battles against opponents who had some sort of zoning option or just assist options that worked well together. I started messing around with some tag tech in MK9, and I do think there could be some really unfair shit. If it was fully explored I'm sure there would be shit teams and broken teams. Which just takes away the fun for me.

The endurance style avoids all of those things I don't care for, and it would make playing co-op with buds better because chances are you and your friends main may not gel well.

When it comes to story mode I don't give a shit what they do. I play story mode for the story and to get a sampling of characters when I play the game for the first time.

Well, clearly we're coming from two different backgrounds. I play casually and you play competitively. I don't even know anyone who plays MK competitively, so for me, it's fun to have a friend over, be playing tag on the same team, and at any time I want, I can go "Surprise, you're in the fight now!" and throw him for a loop for laughs, and he can do the same to me. You'd obviously lose that with the endurance style.
I don't see why there needs to be an issue though when we live in an age where it's possible to have all these modes in the same game so you can play the one you want and I can play the one I want. I don't believe in any such thing as "too many games have tag so they should leave it out", that doesn't really make sense because it's not like the game doesn't still have 1v1 mode as it's main attraction if that's what you want. No one is forcing you to play tag but people who love tag like me ought to have the option, and they could probably have both AND the old endurance-style mode in there without hassle.
Besides, if MK9's tag assists and such are broken, then "leave it out of the next game" isn't the answer, "keep refining it" is.

I have nothing against adding in extra modes, but extra modes means more time and money, and in their haste to put both modes in they could both end up feeling tacked on. If NRS has the means to make both then I really don't care. But it just seems like the endurance style and tag style are so similar that it would end up being one or the other.

I do think that the more casual modes are cool though and fun. Test your luck is great for shits and giggles. To bad it isn't supported online.

Now Test Your Luck I can never really get into. Too random. Like...I'm the kind of guy whose favorite fighting game is Smash Bros...but plays it with items turned off, lol.
