I am completely supportive of DLC requests. You, as a consumer, have just as much right to word and desire as anybody else here.

But.

We do have threads for DLC request on every MK site. I believe I have already seen you post in them. I am 100% behind your cause and mindset (I am the same with Scarecrow). But honestly, pal. The first round of DLC already has to be selected. Concepts and visual development processes have to be considered and approved. Movesets need to be pondered and balance.

I will put money on the fact that the first season is already a lock. Sales AND THEN these demands will likely determine a second season, given WB sees the opportunity to turn a good profit.

But with the business process that has to happen. Please don't be insulted or take it as failure, if these efforts do not work out. Its likely already a lock and real fan demand wouldn't come around until a hoped season 2.

I just can[t wait to find out.

Zatanna isn't a Batman character, so why would anyone want her?

I support her as DLC. Having her do her spells while speaking in reverse would be awesome. The only character in the game not speaking full fledged words normally. Could & Would be awesome.

I've never cared much for Zatanna. I've always thought her outfit was rather cheesy and I didn't like that her spells are just backwards speech. That said, I did like her small role in Young Justice (seen the whole series now and quite enjoyed it), and she does have quite alot of potential when it comes to moves, without her being too much like Raven.

So Martian Manhunter, Blue Beetle, Zatanna... and then I must admit that Poison Ivy would also be a really cool addition as a DLC character.

I'm kinda on the fence about Zatanna. I do know for a female character I would much rather have Black Canary than Zatanna though. I think she would fit in the story better cus of her ties to Green Arrow.

No she's not, and no she wouldn't. Raven is a character with a defined personality and an extremely unique and defined set of powers. Zatanna's personality is almost as boring and undefined as her powers. Raven's powers, style and personality go so much further than anything about Zatanna could in creating an inspired fighting game character. There's far more that goes into a fighting game character than just powers, in which case Raven is still far better. Raven has it all over Zatanna. Raven has personality, a unique set of powers and an interesting history. Zatanna may be technically more powerful than Raven, but that means absolutely nothing, especially when that comes from her lack of definition.

Raven knows telekinesis and a few dark tricks. Zatanna can do magic, and magic is an overall term and incredibly versatile.

So yeah.

Undefined, generic, boring powers =/= versatility. They equal a plot-device character to be used when needed.

Raven knows telekinesis and a few dark tricks? You obviously know jack shit about her. She can sense all emotions, heal people spiritually and physically by absorbing their pain, has power over the original sin, "pride", can project her consciousness into others, use her soul-self for tons of purposes like protecting innocence from physical harm, engulfing enemies, and mass teleporting. She can also control shadow and has some precognitive sense. She also has shown great hand-to-hand combat capability.


Zatanna... she just does whatever the writer needs her to do.

No offense, buddy, but when you've played half as many fighters as I have, read as much about the characters as I have and have experience modding and creating characters for video games, then you can talk to me about who has more potential in a fighting game.

Zatanna has a very interesting Personality. She is like Jade from MK9. Shes sarcastic and cocky. Raven is gloomy. Completely opposite. Zatanna can do ANYTHING Raven can do Telekinesis and a bunch of other things, again completely different. Why cant we have two magic characters?

Raven isn't gloomy. She's actually very optimistic. Zatanna can do whatever the hell she wants because she's just a magic power house. She shouldn't be able to sense emotions or absorb pain the way Raven could, but hell, if the situation called for it, the writer could just as easily allow her to do it. As for her personality. Cocky? Pff. Maybe a little, sometimes. She's very straightforward. More than anything I'd say she's "confident" and flirty. But I mean... you look at her and that's what you expect. She's just very mundane, nothing special about her personality. You see her in a situation and you know how she's going to react. She's another selfless hero with some "young woman" quirks. We can have multiple magic-users in Injustice. There's just far better choices than Zatanna. I watched part of your video, and you've really given her a boring (and ridiculously projectile heavy) skill-set for a girl that can do nearly anything. But that's pretty boring in itself. Also, don't get me wrong. I like Zatanna. I think she's hot as fuck and I like her old-school magician design. I like the wand. I like the top hat. She has had some interesting things done with her. Lobotomizing Batman was a nice dark twist. She's not the worst choice out there, but there's much more inspired and defined characters to choose from.

Im sorry that you didnt enjoy my video because it was projectile heavy. What else can you give her? She can do anything but this game needs to be balanced. I dont know anything about Raven whatsoever so i cant argue about her. But i would like her in and thats all that this thread is about.

I'm not trying to insult you. It's just my opinion. But your move-set is like

Air Blast
Fireball
Water Blast
Lightning Blast
Boulder Throw
Arcane Projectile
Snare
Projectile Reflect
Fly (Trait)

It's just... I mean... that's just really, really basic. Sounds like a Mage class character from any RPG ever.

Think of her gameplay, you don't just want to sit back and throw random slightly different projectiles. Get creative man! Don't stifle your imagination.

What if her trait was something like, she can throw her hat out, and it would hover in the air. You could then press buttons to make it do things, like shoot projectiles or if its directly above someone, it could suck them up and drop them from the sky in front of Zatanna for a juggle. It would disappear after a few seconds, and reappear after another few and you could do it again. She'd be more vulnerable while her hat was on cool-down.

For her moves, and I'm just spit-balling here:

Wand Womp: Her wand grows really big and she swings it like a bat.

Mind Shock: Close range command grab. She places her hands on her enemy's head and shocks their mind. Does no damage but stuns them for a free combo. Think Maktoto's Karakusa.

Illusion: Teleport/Command Dash mix. She dashes forward, leaving an afterimage of her behind for a second. She's invulnerable to projectiles during this. Can go through opponents for mix-ups, like Ibuki's command dash.

Elemental Blast: A projectile of swirling ice and fire. It randomly freezes them or ignites them dealing damage over time. Enhanced could do both at once.

I dunno... like I said, these are just off the top of my head. If she is added as DLC, I hope she's got style and doesn't do generic video-game "caster" things.

Yeah and thanks for your thoughts :) I like the illusion idea. Maybe she could be like "!etacilpuD" and then when you move a bunch of Zatannas run at the opponent but once they reach them vanish. And for Meter Burn, they run up at punch or kick the opponent.
