I decided to go with Sub-Zero and Sareena.

I like Ermac a whole lot but Kenshi is one of my least favorite characters so...yeah.

Ermac and Kenshi because those two are in my favorites list and I don't like Sareena at all. .... but mostly because Ermac. Since I feel like explaining more, Kenshi WAS an egotistical douchebag and probably one of the most egotistical douchebags in the entire game. But the blindness did humble him quite a bit. His moveset in Deception bothered me quite a bit because his special moves were basically just copies of Ermac's, but his recent appearance evened that out and gave him a unique move set. Yay! Let's not forget the Noob-Smoke partnership! I'm pretty sure it's going to be Noob and Smoke. They're going to dominate, holy crap.

Actually, in MKD he and Ermac only had two moves in common: the push and the slam. (The slam was taught to him BY Ermac in MKDA, which is the reason they have the same move, and also the reason he doesn't have it in MK9, that never happened now)

And he still has the push, they just made them look different. Now, Ermac's push holds the opponent in the air a moment before tossing them, while Kenshi's push sends out a copy of himself to ram its shoulder into them.

Sorry Subs, you've already taken the singles championship. Gotta give it to the legion.

Ermac and Kenshi for me. If you read my ninja-rants in the earlier tournament, than you know why I voted for them.

I think it would have been best if Kahn and Sindel teamed up. They were a badass team in MK Annihilation, and Goro and Kintaro, and Jade and Kitana

For Anyone Who Says Baraka Was Just Another Character Added Into The Roster Well, I Could Say The Same For Mileena.

Round 1 gets down and dirty as the bad romance of Team Tarkata takes on the street fighting duo of the new Black Dragon! Mileena may owe her creation to the mutant bloodlines of the Tarkata, but the kinship between Baraka & Mileena is anything but civil. As Deception showed, they can be closest of allies, or deadliest of enemies! Kobra & Kira owe their origins to MKD, part of a new expansion of the Black Dragon led by Kabal! Their allegiance may be strong, but are their skills brutal enough?

Goodbye Sub-Zero, at least you got the title of supreme champ. Hopefully after this next game Sareena will develop a little further and we can have this comp over again.

Anyway moving on. I don't know who to vote for here. I actually don't mind Kira. I hate Kobra though. I also don't mind Mileena, but I think Baraka has become a useless lackey. So really it's just going to take some thought. My instinct is to go with Mileena and Baraka, but I'll give it a day to think it over.

My vote goes to Kobra and Kira. They may not have perfect backstory, but that doesn't matter to me. I like the battle of ruthless vs. ruthless in this match-up, but I like that Kobra and Kira are more calculating. Strategy, and the fact they cooperate well together a lot better than Baraka and Mileena.

Shame to see Sub-Zero go down, but thats fine as Scar has said he won it were it counts most :). Going to be hoping Smoke wins this one now.

It's hard for me to look at Kira and Kobra as an iconic match-up when in the same game they're introduced as somewhat of a duo, Kabal makes them fight one-another to the death. I know Kira's ending's not canon, but it does make me look at their duo-dynamic as being a very superficial one if they're so eager to turn on each other just because Kabal told them to.
On the other hand, the partnership and attraction between Baraka and Mileena, being the only one that's practically confirmed in the game and isn't derived from any other medium, makes them more realistic, and perhaps the best match-up of the entire canon. I think I'll be backing these two throughout the tournament.

As, of this match up you might as well end it right now. Baraka and Milleena Obama are untouchable against kobra and Kira.

Without a moment of doubt, Mileena/Baraka. To me, those two played as big as Sub/Scorp in defining Mortal Kombat.

MK2 would have never been the same without them.

Kobra is sh*t, plain and simple. He is based on Ken from SF another character I don't like. His moves are bland and his personality ain't better. I don't think we will ever see him in a roster again.

Kira might have an above average design, but again she is bland. Her moves ain't original and her story ain't really that interesting, but compared to Kobra, she is redeemable.

An advice to whoever is doing this tournament, avoid putting the classic against the new characters as much as possible. And please don't Let Havik be a partner with the awful Hotaru.

And my team has unofficially lost. At least there's still Kung Lao to hope for, hope he gets a more unorthodox partner than Liu Kang.

why wasn't Kitana matched with Jade if they're best friends? Kitana and Sindel were not introduced to us as allies; only when the spell was broken. Jade and Kitana were NEVER enemies it seems.

What about the Hotaru, Darrius, and Dairou three-way?

Movado and Hsu Hao? The only two Red Dragons we knew about until Daegon came along and fucked it all up.
