Sub-Zero and Sareena? That's hardly iconic, considering all Kuai Liang did was offer her asylum, and she still joined right back with Quan Chi and the group that she tried to leave after getting shot in the back. Poor story, poorer combo; Ermac & Kenshi get my vote.

Sub Zero/Sareena, is something I would love to see taken on in the story. Don't get me wrong, I am not a big fan of female MK characters, but Sonya,Mileena and Sareena do have that high spot in my list.


Nothing against the super cool ErKenshi or ErKenshmac team, but MKM holds a special place in my heart.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if the matchup was done on purpose to limit Sub-Zero's success. There was so much b*tching and moaning over Sub-Zero winning and the way the previous bracket was set up this kind of seems like a way to make others happy.

Add to that the fact that of all the teams they could go up against, Sub-Zero is conveniently matched up against Ermac who he narrowly defeated in the individual round. Not saying it's rigged (or that I care if it is ), but that's a little too conincidental for me. Sub-Zero obvious has a lot of ties to many characters, I just dont understand taking one of his weakest affiliations (Sareena) vs someone like his brother, best friend, arch nemesis, if not to send him to an early exit.

Sub-Zero and Sareena? Very random. Frost would have been a better teammate..though not by a long shot.

I don't understand why people complain about Subbie and Sareena. After MKDA for GBA it makes sense, also taking MK Myth into account . It is part of their history which they share, so it DOES make sense that they would tag up. Subbie could also tag up with Smoke or Frost, but they went with Sareena and I think it fits nicely.

Sareena is awesome! She was the coolest boss in MK Myth and she looks fantastic. A really interesting character with LOTS of potential. She can go either way. Fight against her demonic self with the help and ally of Subbie, or be a demonic temptress assassin working for Quan Chi. Either way, she is awesome!

Sometimes it seems like people have already forgotten all the history and lore put into the MK series that is BEYOND the newest game. Just because Subbie and Smoke were teamed up in the newest MK doesn't mean they HAVE to be the team in this.

It's also pretty much a given that a Sub-Zero/Smoke combo would curbstomp nearly any other given team in the votes. Sub/Sareena makes it more interesting.

Which is why I'm voting Ermac/Kenshi, because that's some epic shit right there. Sub/Sareena pales in comparison.

Oh I wasn't even thinking they'd do Sareena and Sub. Interesting interesting. I figured they'd do Ermac and Kenshi though. The only other character he has a connection with is Liu Kang who I'm pretty positive will work with Kung Lao.

This is a tough choice. Of the four characters I like Ermac the most but I like Kenshi the least lol.

I was gonna say something about being pleased to see Sub paired up with Sareena...but seeing so many people down on it in the thread is just depressing.

You can't blame them. MKM isn't really loved by many and Sareena wasn't really given a major spot till MKA which again isn't the most story filled game. Sareena is a good design/Story that needs to shine on a game Like MK9 before people see that.

I vote for my 1st and 4th favorite characters, Ermac and Kenshi.

Indeed it is depressing. I actually kind of like the matchup. Sub-Zero probably won't be winning this one, but I like the matchup because I would like to see Sub-Zero and Sareena explored in future games. I think she was actually a good ally to him in the old timeline saving him from Noob and Smoke and him offering her a spot in the Lin Kuei.

They are an obvious team, and i'm absolutely fine with it. The sad thing is Kenshi and Ermac both went very far in the last competetion whereas Sareena didn't. Sub-Zero teamed with her will almost certainly make him fall in the first round, but I like this team.

Sub-Zero should not be teamed with Smoke. Noob should. Those two are still a better team to me than Sub-Zero and Smoke are.

Also, if not Sareena Subz had two more choices. Frost which I would have highly disliked, or Scorpion who acted as his guardian from MK2 through MK4. He got teamed with Sareena though which I'm equally fine with. I'm hoping she's the reason Subz gets brought back in the next game.
