It's an okay idea... but really, think about it. We play Boot and Immune and collect champions. Once that happens, we play the Grand Championship to elect a Grand Champion... so now are we going to play an "Ultimate Championship" or something... obviously, we could even collect these so called "Ultimate Champions" until we had enough for the Grand Grand Ultimate Showdown... and so on.

There should be a line drawn somewhere, and I think just replacing the Grand Champion each time is decent because it keeps the games fresh.

Here's what I think we should do, although some may disagree. We play the normal 16 rounds and and pit the 16 winners against each other like normal, and the winner is declared the Champion. After that, we start back from the beginning. We don't collect any Champions.

The next set of games, the Champion is right back in the mix with everyone else and has to earn his votes like last time if people want that character to repeat as Champion or if someone new is to win.

And to make the Championships special, someone, like Dan for example since he already does it in his sig, can keep track and create a graphic of every B&I Champion from every session, and say put it in a "Boot and Immune Champions" thread. The thread would simply consist of a picture and list of all the Champions from every game of Boot & Immune. For example, there would be a picture of Sub-Zero and underneath his picture would be a caption that states: "Boot and Immune Game 1 Champion", and then a picture of Shang Tsung that says "Boot and Immune Game 2 Champion" and so on and so on.

Anyway, I figure that way we can keep it simple, interesting, and competitive at the same time.

do you know how long it would take for there to be 16 Grand Champions, think about it, how long did it take to get 2!, i would just stick with the original thing you guys going on here, but than agian, i guess it would be the same exact thing, untill there was 16 "grand" champions.....im still pissed off ermac lost tho, ohwell, NEXT TIME!

I don't think you understood me. We just got finished playing 16 rounds in order to elect Shang Tsung as Champion. My idea for the next game is to have Shang Tsung thrown back into the mix along with Sub and play 16 more rounds and whoever wins, wins.

The only other thing we should do is create a thread that keeps a record of the Champions. Like I said, Game 1 saw Sub win, so we document it and display his picture, same with Shang for game 2, etc. No collecting champions for a final showdown to elect a "Grand Champion" or any of that, just take it game by game. Whoever wins is the Champion period until the next game starts. If people want the Champion to defend his title in the next game, than they better vote his ass into the final round.

If not, he's just as mortal as everyone else.

we should keep the game as it is now, no changes... shang will have the title until we have a new 1. w/ the same format..

16 games, 1 final.. 1 champion during the next 16 games.. etc repeat repeat..



also, i dont know about others, but this game is what keep me interested in the site fully.. for it to just stop for another period will just make me sad.. the game keeps my interest in the site.. shang will enjoy being champion for at least 4 months.. so in my opinion we should start the next set of 16 games ASAP..

w/ the fights, alliances, and friendships in all!! its amazing how much passion these characters bring out of us..

I agree with everything you said, Dan, except I think the Champion should immediately be thrown right back into the mix.

If he's left out of the next game until the last round to defend against the last man standing next time, it will end up just as it did this time. Everyone will vote for the challenger just to have someone new become champion. No one would ever repeat.

If however they are thrown back in the game right away, and do manage to repeat, then that would really mean something. That character would truly be deserving. And come on, honestly, what are the chances of that happening very often? Not that great. This way, everyone gets a fair shot. Even the defending champ.

I agree, Dan. B&I is what keeps me coming to this site, as well. During the last hiatus, I rarely came here, except to check if B&I had started yet.

So hoping to see the next game start reasonably soon. Even the fighting is part of the fun.... *g*

Yeah but if you do throw the champ back in again he will gangbanged by boot votes worse than scorpion cuz nobody will want the same champion to repeat. so it seems we've reached an impass.....

I still think the Grand Champion should sit out until we elect a new grand champion... it simply makes sense to me. It was done for Sub-Zero, so I feel it should continue to be done. Everything else said sounds fine to me.

Well, I can see the point of having the Grand Champ put back into the mix. If the Champ is put back into the mix and doesn't make it to the round of 16, then you'll have a new champ regardless instead of picking a new guy to face the Champ at the end and then voting them as Champ. Why go thur all of that knowing you'll probably vote in a New Champ to begin with???

Why not let all of those who like the Champ to vote for him like everyone else does for their fave character and see what happens. Maybe the game might go better than expected if you did it that way.

As much as I'd like it for a champ to be able to defend, it looks to me like it would probably work best just to have him sit out, I guess. Unfortunate, but looking like it's probably the best route.

But defend or no, we should definitely start the next round of games!

Here's my reasoning on why a Grand Champion should sit out an entire set of games:

A normal Champion sits out until the Grand Championship, right? Obviously the title of "Grand Champion" carries much more prestige... so how sensible would it be to crown the Grand Champion only to throw them back into the mix a few days later? There should be some sort of reward for that character and its fans... which should be a seat on the thrown until the next "season's" Grand Champion is chosen.

You made an excellent point ~Crow~. It would be right for the Champ to sit out and wait for their competitor. However, there are many tournaments out there which the Champ is put back into the mix in order for them to defend their title.

I'm not saying your wrong or anything like that. It just that, Why not put him back into the mix? If you're going to vote someone else as the Champ, then why put the current Champ thur such a long wait knowing that many are going to vote for his challenger to be Champ? Why do that? Why not put them back into rotation and see if those who voted for him to be Champ will help him defend their title?

Well... basically, I think the Grand Champion could be involved in the next Grand Championship perhaps, as the 17th character of course. I was just saying I don't think Shang Tsung should be forced back into the pool of the "regular" characters when the next series starts. I'm not against the idea of him defending his title in a Grand Championship, though.

For example, Sub-Zero should have been allowed to participate from the very beginning of this game, not right at the end like it was this time. As you can see, so many people didn't want Sub-Zero to win because they didn't want him to simply win ONE game and repeat. It would take a lot of support to go through all the other 16 characters though, so it wouldn't exactly be a "waste of time". I'd like to think that a Grand Championship buys the character an automatic entry into the next Grand Championship... this time however, Sub-Zero will simply have to go back into the pool, as we didn't decide what would happen before we played.

In any event, I think a lot of people are ready for the next games to begin... I personally thought we would take the game for a rest since everyone was so tense, but even with all of the problems people still seem to miss the game. If some only come to play this... would should keep it going right now.

Well, since it's being requested so badly here... I'm going to start the next games up now myself. I've never really done this before, but it couldn't be too hard to copy/paste things. Give me a few moments to get it running...
